The restaurant is located directly on the Thames and has a circular floor to ceiling glass layout. The ground floor is essentially a coffee shop that serves meals and the first floor is a restaurant. An ideal place for a relaxed meal. Good food, friendly staff, and excellent views of the river. The breakfast pancakes are not to be missed.

The location of this restaurant has, over the years, seen many restaurants come and go. This is quite surprising as it has a fabulous location....the views over the Thames can't be beaten. But we are here to talk about the restaurant, not the views. I went to The Ferm last Sunday for lunch. I'd heard that they were offering Sunday lunch so we thought we'd give it a go. On entering, we were shown to a table for 4 although there were only 2 of us - they weren't overly busy. The waiter quickly gave us the menu and told us about the Sunday roasts which they had on that day. We ordered a starter each and both of us had the roast belly of pork. We were advised that we didn't need to order vegetables as the portions were generous. The starters were delicious!! And the main courses well, generous is definitely an under-statement. The piece of pork belly was enormous and the vegetables it came with were varied, well cooked and plentiful. We decided to have desserts but couldn't decide between the lemon tart, bread and butter pudding or chocolate fondant. So we ordered the bread and butter pudding and chocolate fondant but, seeing our hesitation, we were also offered a slice of the lemon tart on the house so we could taste it. The lemon tart was a generous portion and was perfect. The chocolate fondant was slightly over cooked....not as gooey in the middle as it should have been. And the bread and butter pudding was different - it was a slice of pudding drizzled with toffee....but don't get me wrong, it may have been different but that does not mean it was bad - I polished off every morsel. Just as we were finishing we were joined by a friend. Our friend had a cappuccino while we ate our desserts. On asking for the bill I pointed out that the coffee was missing - I was told it was on the house. The wine list is comprehensive and reasonably priced. All in all this is a great restaurant. The food is good and the staff attentive, charming and customer focussed. I am happy to say that although not busy when we entered, The Ferm saw a steady stream of people coming in for either lunch or afternoon tea. I have no hesitation in recommending The Ferm - I know that I will definitely be returning.
