I tried this restaurant recently as I have just moved to Battersea and I will definitely be coming back. I had the very nice lobster bisque and perfectly cooked rack of lamb with a lovely wine pairing the manager recommended for the food. Overall was a lovely evening with brilliant food and friendly service! Highly recommend!!!
Authentic Ethiopian Cuisine & Great Hospitality!
This was the second time I tried Ethiopian cuisine, and it did not disappoint. We visited Mesi Kitchen as a group of 22, and the experience was fantastic. Since Ethiopian food is traditionally shared, we split into smaller groups of four to enjoy the meal.
Our group ordered a sharing platter for four, along with lamb tibs and doro wat. The food was flavourful, well-prepared, and truly enjoyable. I definitely recommend having a sharing platter, as the portions are much larger, and I feel you get more variety. A couple in our group shared a platter for two, and it seemed much smaller in comparison. We had a few Ethiopians in our group, and they were really happy with the food, which is always a great sign of authenticity!
The staff were incredibly friendly and easy-going, even with our large group moving around to chat. They were helpful and patient, which I thoroughly appreciated.
One thing I’d recommend for the future is avoiding a single large bill at the end. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention this in advance, and it made splitting the payment quite tricky. If one person makes a mistake, it can leave others trying to figure out who owes what, which can take away from an otherwise amazing experience. The owner did mention that they could have handled it differently had we informed them beforehand, but for large groups, it would be helpful if the staff gave a polite reminder about this option in advance—it would definitely save a headache when it comes to paying.
Overall, Mesi Kitchen delivered an excellent Ethiopian dining experience with great food and welcoming service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Ethiopian cuisine in a friendly and relaxed setting!
Visited today with my friend and her dog after a wet walk. Dog friendly. The walls are filled with so much flying WW2 history. Very good service and the egg roll and sausage/bacon french stick and mugs of tea were very good. Had a very good chat with the lady taking the orders . This will not be my last visit to the cafe as I think I need to have one of the full breakfasts.
Wonderful restaurant featuring the best of Irish ingredients,
Staff who understand their craft and enjoy making the customer feel valued and comfortable
I cannot believe that I am just now leaving the review!
We have visited in December as a surprise birthday treat for me. There is not much to say apart from perfection!
I am not surprised by their first star, and I can imagine myself them getting more in future. The standard is just so high.
Food was incredible, creative, but also very familiar in a way. Fun but also not relying on theatre to deliver. The taste truly comes first and presentation is there to elevate, which was just wonderfully balanced.
The sake is just incredible.
The service was on just as high standard as food. We felt very comfortable, looked after but not overbearing. I could go on and on how wonderful this all was, but really it’s just better to go visit by yourself if you have a chance

Order delivery from here ALL the time, at least twice a month because it's so yummy, but sadly no more since they massively hiked the prices on Deliveroo compared to in store, just can't justify nearly £18 for a skewer box now.
Friendly staff with a warm environment. Everyone welcome with open arms. Cant say anything bad about this pub. First time visit definitely back next season
