The best restaurants in East of England

I had asked Shaun the landlord if he would be able to provide a BBQ and buffet for some of my family members so we could get together and celebrate the birth of my ninth grandchild who arrived on fathers day. Shaun, his sister Sophie and brother Ross were all instrumental in ensuring this event was a plesant experience and I must not forget the bar staff who coped extremely well despite the wrath of a prior event. A wonderful spread of food awaited us, this was not just what i had hoped for, this was much more than that with food spare. I could not have dreamed of such a banquet, fit for meat eaters, vegetarian, vegan and celiac alike, all explained so there was no cross contamination for anyone and special items were cooked on order. The spread was so good and in such abundance that I invited many more people from the pub to partake of the food and not skimp on the portions they gave themselves. Everyone was grateful and full, happy and had a wonderful time celebrating the new arrival and time spent together, obviously the children enjoying themselves in the large enclosed garden area was the main attraction and like the food didn't disappoint at all. We booked Ronaldo Ices for our wedding garden party. It was by far the best decision (besides getting married of course) that we made! Simon set up a lovely authentic ice cream cart, had a super old fashioned ice cream outfit and served 10 delicious and original flavours to our guests. It is difficult to say if the oldies or kids made the most trips to see Simon - but there his no doubt that his super friendly personality, professionalism and infectious positivity absolutely made our day. We could not recommend Ronaldo Ices and Simon more for any event - guests will absolutely both (come rain or shine)! Thank you!

Family run business that make Great various homemade breads and their pizzas are top notch too, would highly recommend if you're in the area!

First visit today and will definitely be back. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had tea and cake yummy. The rhubarb frangipane and cup of leaf tea, cake was to die for and a good cup of leaf tea made nicerdtinking from china cup. Would definitely recommend and we’ll be back for something more than cake.

Always welcoming - you can sit inside if it’s a bit chilly and the Panetones they sell make the best Christmas gifts! Highly recommend

A birthday meal out with family was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The food was outstanding, service very friendly and attentive. One member of our group has an allergy was dealt with without any fuss or bother. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to all.

As the kids loved this place as much a 's we did we could not possibly not go he again. So funny and clean

Absolute pile of sh...e The second time I've been on a wild goose chase looking for a supposed vegan cafe is f.....g west London, only for it not to sodding exist! Walking up and down New Oxford road like a gobs...e, to no avail. Place either doesn't exist, or is invisible. Total stupidity, and frustration

Wonderful independent cafe, with incredible food and service! Service - owner and staff incredibly friendly and hugely welcoming Food - wonderful savoury and sweet delights - huge selection and great to have variety of portion sizes too (e.g., my mum was not overly hungry, so had a bite sized treat. I had a bigger appetite, so decided to have a bigger pastry) Drinks - coffee (hot and tasty). Have good selection of teas too. Wonderful little tables outside - great on a warm day.

Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra comida en la noche Beaujolais Nouveau. La comida era excelente - el mejor filete que he tomado en mucho tiempo. ¡Delicioso, jugoso, sabroso, medio raro! El servicio era muy amable y el vino era bueno también. Es un servicio más lento que algunos lugares, pero la comida vale la pena la espera y es agradable poder ponerse al día con los amigos durante una cena tranquila.

I came across this little gem of a cafe accidentally and was so glad I did. As it was later on in the day I had a decaf which was superbly smooth and had a great flavour. And the chocolate brownie was to die for. Plus super friendly and really quick service. I totally recommend this place!

Found this excellent tea stop by chance whilst searching for objet d’art. Glad we did. Locally sourced ( I hate that phrase) coffee and great tasting home made sausage rolls. We were pleased and so was Frank the Dog with his morsel of our sausage rolls. The Blondie (again home made) was also a real treat.

Walked past and noticed the Gluten free cakes sign. Always a plus! Went in and the gluten free biscuits to die for. My partner had the chocolate cookie and he said it’s the best he’s ever eaten. The coffee is amazing. Prefect little find.
