The best restaurants in East of England

Honestly the best cafe! We eat here regularly. Everybody loves the breakfast but I also go here regularly for lunch. The staff are friendly, the cafe is always clean and there is outdoor space out the back which is dog friendly (if you take your dog you have us the back entrance).

My husband and I enjoyed bacon rolls and coffee. Ladies who run it were very friendly. The cafe deserves more customers.

Absolute gem of a restaurant. It's quite small (I counted seating for 26) so I would recommend booking. The owner and staff have created a warm, very friendly atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome. The menu caters extremely well for the majority of diets and everything is freshly cooked. The owner is very helpful and is happy for you to pre-order your choice of meals in advance. This means you don't run the risk of something not being available , which is always a possibility when it's fresh ingredients and cooked to order. We had pizza, tiger prawns and jerk pork burger, all of which were fabulous and the tiramisu dessert is amazing. The level of service was perfect, not rushed, attentive, extremely polite and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening, Desmond's has just become our first choice restaurant in Lowestoft.

Cane to Great Yarmouth for a family day out and decided to give HJ's Fish and Chips a visit this afternoon, Sunday 30th March. From the outset I can say I was very impressed. Staff were very good as they took my order. For my children, 1 regular battered sausage and regular chips and one regular sausage and chips for my other daughter who is gluten-free. One regular battered sausage and regular chips for my partner and one regular cod and chips for me and also 4 pots of curry sauce and 4 bottles of drink , 2 coke , 1 sprite and 1 dr pepper all for a very satisfactory price as well. The food was excellent. The battered sausage was perfect , not too crispy but not too soft, either. The Cod was exquisite and thoroughly tasty and perfectly cooked with perfect batter. The chips were great, too, as was the curry sauce. 10 out of 10. Had a round of ice creams from their ice cream parlour, and once again, the staff were great , even providing ice cream for our dog archie, who enjoyed the dog ice cream, which was also available. Highly recommended if anyone in the area to pay a visit. Thanks, HJ's Fish and Chips, for a great service.

We were guided hereby the restaurant next door while we waited for a table, great recommendation! Very bubbly friendly waitress served us Pornstar Martinis that were so nice we returned for premeal cocktails the following night, well worth a visit, superb tasting cocktails

Fab. Really friendly service, great breakfast, we cleared our plates. Some main meals on the menu. Definitely recommend.

The coffee here is absolutely superb. The sourdough tastes amazing. Great variety and quality using the best ingredients.

Introduced to this lovely place by a friend and it’s just lovely. Popped in for a quick coffee and a bagel- really friendly and I feel comfy popping in on my for a quick coffee and snack!

First visit and found by accident lucky to spot it as its a little out of the way just past the library on the corner. Spotlessly clean and a nice variety of food and drinks. Ukrainian lady running the show and does a good job so all the support we can give her here.

We visited Sunday for a takeaway for a family of four, the venders were lovely helped us with all the options and to top it off the food was amazing, it's lovely to have another Vegan restaurant in the area

We had an excellent breakfast, everything was great and Ricardo provided great service. We will return!!
