My family went for an afternoon tea to celebrate a 90th Birthday. We were very disappointed with the sandwich fillings which were very cheap, no prawn or smoked salmon just egg, tuna, sundried tomato and ham & cheese. Very expensive for the amount of money we paid. Also we were giving one pot of tea each which wasn’t re filled until we eventually see someone and had to ask. This was the worst experience of an afternoon tea. Waste of money and we should have gone somewhere else.

One of the best pub lunches we’ve ever had. Which covers many decades. A simple beef burger, not described in fancy terms but better than so many gastro-pubs that do so. Really good chips, and the coleslaw was crisp and fresh. And a really excellent lamb roast with very well-cooked and plentiful vegetables. Service was a match for the food. I could see all the waiters were very good though ours (dark hair, longer beard) had a good way about him. Exceptional. Worth a detour or a special visit.

We were on holiday and wanted our lunch. Called into the cafe, we were going to have the cottage pie, I asked if there were peas in it, I was told yes, so I said I only wanted one then for my husband, and I’d have the liver & onions with mash and bacon strips. When it came the gravy was mixed with peas, lots of them mixed in with it! Peas was not mentioned on the menu,I could’ve taken it back, but they were busy, so I just moved it all around abit. I went home hungry, and they are £12 better off. Lovely cafe, roomy, polite. But not again. I hate peas!

I have been here several times before for coffee, lunch , tea and cake Yes it’s a lovely atmosphere and food and drink lovely BUT Today I went with friends It was very busy and two waiting staff walked past us several times whilst waiting for a table Neither of them greeted us or said they would be with us soon Any way we got a table and ordered drinks service quick and drinks fine I used the toilet and it was not very clean and the sink had obviously not been cleaned for a while needed a good scrub Very disappointing for an establishment selling food and drink

I had the perfect eat out Sunday Roast Lamb dinner, that was as good as any home cooked roast that you could have.. and I wasn't even that hungry! I'm a good cook myself and if like me you love a roast... this roast lamb dinner I had at The Robin was delicious! It was served on a good sized plate (so good value) and my dinner had a lovely selection of fresh/perfectly cooked veg. The lamb was tender and tasty, the roasts pots were fluffy/crunchy, the gravy was tasty (my mouth is watering thinking about it again lol). Even with a busy bar/restaurant on a football afternoon (unfortunately it was Arsenal when we were there! lol).... it was all served nice'n'hot and even the mint sauce was top notch too, along with the staff who were friendly. (especially the female chef who cooked my delicious roast and smiley barmaid who served our drinks and waited our table). I also had a sticky toffee pud with custard and that was yummy too! 100% recommend... thanks again to the chef for my perfect eat out with home cooked vibe, Sunday roast!
