Bay Leaf is a fantastic curry house. The staff are so friendly and nothing is a problem. The food is one of the best I have tried and is certainly top in Norfolk. Certainly worth a visit, you will enjoy any item you choose! Well done Bay Leaf... I'd eat with you every day if I could!

Not very nice at all the meat was very tough and not edible and top the evening if they demanded a tip and that we paid this in cash told them where to get of Horrible place to eat never again

Food was very tasty but unfortunately we chose to dine in an service was terrible. This was the second time we dined in here and both times awful service so won't be a 3rd. An hour and 45mins to wait for our starter to come out. Very poor indeed

Really good takeaway. Tasty and still piping hot when I got it home.

Sorry to say this food was pretty poor. Lamb needed a couple more hours of cooking.

I tried Bayleaf for a takeaway and I was not disappointed. Food arrived hot and despite being a takeaway this was of restaurant quality. Highly recommended.

1 star because I can't give a minus. Internet order promised for 19.35. I left without my food at 20.00 no waiter could have the decency to tell me they were running late. So far not had any communication from them for an apology nor refund. Have been a regular customer but will never use again. Very angry with the service and disappointed

Great food as always, all staff friendly,polite efficient.

Had a family takeaway from here and it was SO good. My partner and I are vegan and were told they’d make anything we wanted to be vegan! All of us were so happy with our food and we would absolutely recommend to anyone And if you can’t handle spice like me, the korma is so tasty!

First order and very inexperienced Indian diners..... Absolutely amazing, so fresh tender and tasty 😍 We tried the Balti , Biriani and Tandoori Mixed Grill with Peshwari Naan, Onion Baji, Sag Aloo and Aloo Gobi

We went here on Saturday evening and had a great meal. We have had take away a number of times but decided to try sit in for a change. We were not disappointed. The service was great, the food was tasty and they cater well for vegetarian and vegans. Will definitely visit again. Special shout out to Raj who made our visit memorable.

My husband and I had a last minute meal out here for the first time. Best Indian I've had in a long time. The free onion bajis were exceptional and the service was lovely. Due to being midweek there wasn't much atmosphere but I'm sure the feeling would have been different on a Friday or Saturday evening. The waiters couldn't do enough for us and I wish them all the best.

Wonderful food and great service with an excellent range of dishes on offer, in a lovely old building. Raj and his team will look after you and make sure you have a great evening. We will be going back (again and again!)

The food is excellent great flavour , exquisite. And I will definitely be returning for this reason. I have spoken to Raj who was very nice gives great service and there is also a young lady who is also very good and attentive. Constructive criticism I would say the service is lacking in the following areas. Waiters need to be told when to remove used sauces and glasses, drink services are bit slow, when drink glasses are empty why doesn’t staff approach customer and ask if they want a refill? Customer has to keep asking. A lot of plates are chipped and damaged. After meal when wanting coffee and deserts and to get the bill, the staff leave the used table cloth and all the empty glasses so it’s all a bit messy and would like a cleaner surface after the meal. This what most restaurants do “clear the table and used linen” The food is great but I think the waiters could be a bit more attentive.

First visit to Bayleaf and the food and service was exquisite! Having been brought up around classic English food, when I tried Indian for the first time it was nice but after trying here the spices/flavours were amazing! The waiter Raj was funny, professional and friendly 100% recommend Bay leaf and will be returning. Kylie :)

What a night. Raj was brilliant from taking poppodom’s order to delivering the bill when asked. Food was really really good. Incredibly generous portions which was refreshing in times of austerity. Lovely family evening out. See you again soon Raj!

We had a wonderful evening, a real sense of occasion. I have had many curries in my life and thought this one exceptional. Raj was most attentive,. service was prompt including hot plates and even hotter towels at the end. The food is utterly delicious. Any “Brundallians” that have not tried out the Bay Leaf should do so before the good people of Norwich find out about it! !!

Interesting to read a lot of comments about how long it took to actually receive food. Dined here last night and it took almost 2 hours before we ate! The food was good but 2 hours is ridiculous, and all the while we were waiting that long we had to continuously ask the staff to come over and take drinks orders to the point that one of us actually got up and went to the bar to be served and that still didn't prompt a waiter to come over to the table. Also had to get up and go and ask for the bill as that also took ages and then get up again and go and ask for a card machine to pay it. Such a shame as the food is really good but I think I'll stick to take out in future as I'd gone past the point of caring by the time we actually ate and the staff didn't seem to know we were there.

Have had over 10x meals from this restaurant, both eating in and takeaway. Can’t fault it. Tried lots of different dishes and have always been very happy with the quality of their food. The service is outstanding. The staff are great. You won’t be disappointed.

Visited on a Tuesday evening, there were two other tables occupied. I can only agree with the other reviews concerning the length of time it took to receive the food order. It appears that the take away orders are the priority. The food is average and the service isn't the best, but it's the only place in town. Will probably pick up a takeaway away from the Co-op next time.

My husband had a takeaway from here and he said the food was exceptional, so we booked a table on Friday with family and i was really impressed with not only the food, but with the lovely staff and atmosphere in the restaurant. The whole experience was lovely and the food was amazing. We will definitely be returning.

Turned up without a booking but they managed to find us a table pretty quickly even on a Saturday evening. Waiting staff doing the best they could but mains took a long time to arrive but was lovely when it did. Sat near the bar, till we heard several complaints about the time things where taking on both take out and sit down service . They need to cut down the number of covers in the restaurant or take less take out as the place is full with people just standing around waiting for take out food which ruins the atmosphere for those dining in . Very chaotic billing system and I’ve never had to wait so long to pay a bill .. Would eat there again but only mid week and not weekend . Good effort but needs tweaking .

This is the 3rd time of eating in in this restaurant the food as always was excellent but I gave 1 for the service as I believe we had a new waiter who was very polite but lacked confidence and the etiquette of how to be a good waiter (not to be noticed but attentive) not to remove everyone's dishes who have finished eat while there's still someone on the table still eating even when the head waiter tells him to, (head waiter very false - obviously didn't like someone on our table) I asked for a tea and the bill I received a black tea and sugar not asked if I would like milk and no bill I had to ask for milk which took ages and I could have drunk the tea three times over eventually got milk and had to ask for the bill again and still not got. The young waiter's dress code not suitable for restaurant trousers were black jeans with large white labels on them. PLEASE TRAIN ALL YOUR STAFF BETTER

Excellent food, really nice atmosphere, only loses a star because of how long it took for the food to come out but to be fair it was a busy Saturday night. Would definitely go back.

We pre-ordered a delivery for New Year's Eve. We selected delivery for 7-7.15. At just before 7 we got a call to say the delivery was on its way. The driver was very friendly and courteous. The food was fabulous! Crispy, tasty onion bhaji with a dip then a delicious lamb dish with lean tasty pieces of lamb in a lovely sauce, also paneer Ceylon with plenty of large pieces of paneer. The aubergine side dish was also very tasty and the pilau rice cooked perfectly. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved our takeaway- one of the best I've had, and the delivery driver was so lovely and polite too!

Food is OK, but too many people, too loud, slow service

Lovely staff and service. The mild dishes I ordered were as described and very tasty. The prawns were unfortunately slightly overcooked but again, a nice flavour as with the other dishes. The Aloo Gobi and the Mushroom rice were best.

Food was ok. nice nann bread, paneer sagg was pretty good and the sekh kebab was good. The Malayan curry was not good, lacking flavor and look like it had split. We had a chicken starter too that had too much masala. Service was excellent.

WOW! My husband and I visited The Bay Leaf Restaurant this evening to collect our takeaway order. The restaurant had a very relaxing and classy vibe and the staff were very welcoming towards us. Our food was SENSATIONAL - Everything was cooked to perfection with truly wonderful spices and I highly recommend. We will book a table soon as we are impressed with both the food and the restaurant.

Amazing Indian ,lovely service ,lovely atmosphere.

5 friends out for a social evening of Asian cuisine. One person chose the wrong dish and didn't like it. One had too many green chillies on their plate. One had their, normally favourite dish, but it was far too hot. One didn't expect the chicken to be on the bone and didn't think it was cooked. And mine was lovely, if a little heavy on the ghee. The staff were great. The restaurant is very pleasant.

Utterly dreadful, tasteless, slop. Don't waste your money people. Called up after spending £90+ on several takeaway meals that were indistinguishable from one another by taste and raw naan bread. I was promised a meal 'on me' by the owner to compensate. Suffice to say, I'm writing this review because said owner has yet to fulfill that promise. Utterly, utterly, outrageous. A better meal could be had in the next village. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this place.

Would have been 5 5 5, but i asked for a chicken tika biryani and paid for it. When i got home, it was only a chicken biryani..

We had a Takeaway from here last night which we collect. It was ready on time and the service was great and it was great value for money. Our order was all vegetarian and the food was fantastic. We had two vegetable curries which were both great but it would have been good to make one of them a potato curry. Being new to the area this last year and trying several other Currie housed this is so far the best.

A fantastic addition to the village. Food was very good especially the naans and chicken dansak. Service was good and very friendly. Nice atmosphere with Indian music. Reasonably priced.

Absolutely love there food its so nice and tasty really well cooked has great flavours. Staff are so friendly and nice come around to make sure ubdont need anything and that everything is alright. Once u get to know them they are really friendly for a chat and get know know what you like and how ublike your order done. It was surprisingly nice. Have to say probably the best restaurant i have been to for customer service.

Had our second meal at Bay Leaf this week and it was just as good as the first. The whole meal was beautifully cooked with balanced spices and moist meat / seafood. The waiters were very friendly and offered great advice on which dishes to have. They were also happy to tweak the ingredients to suit our tastes. Can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. We will be visiting many times in the future. We love it!

We got our first takeaway from here this evening and it was very good. Service was quick and the staff very pleasant. We will definitely return to try more dishes.

Lovely food, great service and all round wonderful experience

The service was so friendly, and the food was made according to your preference. I actually celebrate my birthday which they made it very special.

It was my friend’s birthday today (on 15th June) and we went there for a night-out. The food was absolutely delicious! I personally loved the biriyani and chicken tikka; they were made with typical Indian spices and the service made it even more special! Kudos to the chef for bringing the nearest possible Indian taste to the UK. A must-try Indian restaurant around norwich. Though it’s a lil far from city, it is definitely worth a drive, you’ll never regret it:) ~ and the staffs were so kind enough to gift a cute wine bottle for the bday girl too. How many instances like that can we see in today’s world? Those little little things…

Had a great evening on Thursday 1st June. The menu offered so many options and we thoroughly enjoyed our choice. Absolutely delicious!! The waiters were so polite and attentive and we could not fault the service. The owner of the restaurant was such a lovely fellow, great personality and engaging. One of the nicest experiences I have had in a long time at an Indian restaurant. The Bay Leaf deserves to do well and I would recommend giving them a visit.

Absolutely fantastic takeaway food. Kind and friendly staff and quick with bringing out the food which was also lovely and hot when we got home. So nice to have a decent Indian in the area. Thank you. We will see you again!

1st try of Bay leaf very positive. Had a chicken Pathia and Cauliflower bhaji, and it was superb. All fresh herbs and lovely spices. Staff helpful and friendly. They even gave us a choc dessert foc as was our anniversary. Will definitely come again. Thank you Bay Leaf.

Attempted to order online. The website states 20% off ALL orders for collection. This was not honoured at check out. Called to try and fix the issue but was told no we will get it next time. Without saying why, the phone was placed on the counter for 10 minutes with no response. A discussion was heard in the background of another customer having the same issue and was also told no. When the phone was picked up again, it was confirmed no discount would be honoured so I asked to cancel. The manager came to the phone who said if I keep my order, he will give me the 20% discount. I will never order from here now.

Delicious! Exceptional service. Food very tasty, well portioned, piping hot and packaged very well for takeaway. Great vegetarian options available.

We had a meal here on Saturday eve (their first weekend) and it was busy, we waited quite a while for our food to arrive. When it did it was good, worth waiting for. The team of waiters were very friendly and efficient. We were offered a complimentary drink at the end of our meal because of the wait, which was a nice gesture. The restaurant is first class it's an asset to Brundall we would definitely recommend it and we will eat there again.

We came here for a nice family meal and despite the obvious pressures and stresses of a manic opening weekend we left having had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely world class. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The gentlemen serving were all incredibly hospitable. Will definitely become our local Indian.

Ordered food online to take away during the afternoon and selected my preferred collection time. Arrived on time and was welcomed inside, waited a couple of minutes and the food was brought out. Food was faultless, very nice indeed and reasonably priced and the staff all friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely be eating there again.
