The original owner called this place "The Blinking Owl" after his wife developed a nervous twitch whilst doing the washing-up. Just waiting to see if the new staff develop similar symptoms. 🤔

Just popped in for a drink and ordered a sandwich which was really good, fresh and well presented. Went back a week later and had another nice lunch. The staff are very friendly and we felt very welcome. Great pub will definitely call again

Great place to visit for a cuppa and bite to eat. Probably could do with a bit of background music. But hey its good.

My daughter has taken me there a couple of times.Very good food and excellent service.

Called in early for a coffee and snack breakfast roll. Didnt have time to wait for service to.start so settled.for coffee amd very good coffee it was. Neatly set tables and plsasing decor. Will return for food when time permits.

I started going to No5 about 3-4 months ago, and it has Now become my number one place togo, the food is Fantastic, and the staff and service is incredible there super nice ive never once had an issue they accommodate your ever need to the best they can, This the BEST spot in Bury St Edmunds , I couldn't recommend it or praise it More. After lunch here today with ourc17 month old grandson I was told there was no baby changing table in the toilets (it's advertised as a family friendly pub)so as a 68 year old grandmother I had to change my grandson on the FLOOR of the disabled toilet.I then disposed of his UNSOILED nappy(it was just wet) wrapped it over and place it in the flip lid bin in the toilet) The manager then came over to me and informed me in front of a FULL restaurant to remove the DIRTY nappy from the toilet bin and takecit home"We are a pub"we do jot have baby changing facilities"???.It was not dirty and I felt humiliated in front of the other diners.I shall not return.

Excellent food and great menu, ...only problem being that you'll just want to order one of everything !

Just had a wonderful meal here. The food and service in fantastic! The Pork hot pot and spring rolls are a must try.

The overall impression was there were plenty of staff but only about half had a clue what they were doing The poppadom sauces were very very bland no taste and the jalfrezzi was of poor quality

Dropped in on the off chance of grabbing a bar meal as had tried 2 others and no one was doing food. Friendly and welcoming, Dogs were made welcome too. Knocked us up Beef burgers and chips which was lovely. Thanks for having us!!

Been using this place for many years. Prices are not cheap but on a par with most places these days. Good food served by nice people.

For our day trip to Cambridge we saw Cafe Foy and their offer of Shakshuka and just had to try it … and it delivered. Really tasty and was great to eat by the riverside and out of the rain!
