The best restaurants in Harbour Waveney East of England

The Woodbine Cafe is now an oriental takeaway - sadly the old traditional British restaurant is no more. My wife and I had a takeaway from here recently - the food was pretty decent and prices were comparable to most Chinese takeaways in the area. Delivery took a little longer than expected (around an hour) and they apologised for that. Would consider using them again although there are cheaper options in town.

WHAT A GEM OF A PLACE. Exceptional waitress service, going that extra mile, apart from being totally professional, the waitress, even cut the tops of the sachet tops off, making them easy to remove contents. We ordered two large cod and chips, curry sauce and two cans of soft , well chilled drinks. The food looked amazing when it arrived at our table. Lovely light crispy battered cod plentiful non greasey chips. The curry sauce was second to none. If you have not eaten here, you really don't know what you are missing. High quality fish. Spotlessly clean restaurant, staff equally well presented. Clean toilet, Can't recommend this place highly enough. Best fish we have had in years. Just excellent all round. Thankyou.

Me and my papa went here for lunch. Food was quick, fresh,low priced,and tasty! The food was absolutely awesome and I will definitely visit again! Their chips were crinkle cut and very crispy and their bacon and sausages were spot on. Lovely atmosphere and clean toilets. I would definitely recommend!

This was my second visit and it didn't disappoint. Cannot fault this place. Great food. Great service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Today my granddaughter and I visited L’Amore because it looked inviting. We really enjoyed the sandwiches because they were proper sandwiches with tasty fillings of smoked salmon, cream cheese and crispy lettuce. They were a manageable size without tons and tons of unwanted salad on the side, just a small pot of coleslaw. All very nice. The service was friendly and the price very reasonable for sandwiches, desserts and drinks. My only criticism is that I was not asked for contact details for Covid contact tracing. Some cafes do this and I wish all cafes did - it’s the only way it will work. Otherwise a very pleasant lunch.

Late breakfast. Long wait so expecting freshly cooked. Despite satisfying the need, what was delivered was far from perfect. Cold plate, kept warm bacon ( certainly felt like it) eggs over done ( little to no running yolk) but the sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes were ok. Pleasant service staff 👍

Pleasant atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff. Good range of sandwiches, tea and coffee. Ideal stopping off place when shopping in town or meeting friends. I was by myself, but felt perfectly comfortable.

Love this place. So far, only been in for their delicious coffee and wonderful custard tarts, but aim to try a lunch next time. Service is so friendly and very good value.

The best fish and chip I've had in years. The batter was light and crispy the fish was cooked to perfection and the chips was tasty without a bitter after taste. I would recommend the chippy and give a score 💯 You have to try it for yourself and thank me later.

Lovely cosy friendly restaurant with excellent menu. Very good vegan options and they'll go out of their way to create vegan dishes for you. Friendly staff and very good service. Prices are very reasonable.

Very nice Fish n' Chips. Service was good. Couldn't eat all the Chips as there was so much....... I wouldn't give a negative review about that !! Fish had a beautiful taste, crispy batter, nice & White (as you'd expect) Bit more expensive than Pips Fish n' Chips on Queen's Road where we usually go. However, I can't really find any fault...... all positive. If your Fish n' Chips taste this good all the time I would rather spend a few more minutes walk rather than walk to a closer Fish n' Chip shop that isn't even open !!! Well done Pablos.

Wow this was perfect, the best Chinese we’ve ever had and can’t wait for another one in a few weeks time when we return here. It was so busy which is always a good sign of a good meal. Thank you New China.

The first time we have had their Bacon & Cheese Quiche, which we took away. EXCELLENT 👌 Along with a slice of Cherry Pie & Bread Pudding. Those too delicious. WILL RETURN
