Shake & Cake in Waveney

Nice traditional country pub between Halesworth and Southwold. Relaxed dining. Had a smaller meal on this occasion but would happily return for an occasion. I imagine it would be a great stop if you were on a cycling or walking tour of the area.

The food is always well prepared and tasty, so no complaints there, but this time I made the mistake of booking a delivery time well in advance. It was obvious that the food had been cooked early and left to stand until it was time to deliver. It was pretty much all stone cold on arrival so we had to microwave most of the dishes before we could eat them. This was a very disappointing outcome. I shall continue to use the takeaway, but I've learnt my lesson and in future I won't order until I'm ready, or I'll go and wait in the shop while they prepare it. Also, the online menu, although comprehensive does not "remember" what has been picked, so I ended up having to start over again three or four times!

We use this takeaway all the time. Tonight as usual was brilliant.

Very slow service, I walked in, was the only person in there I ordered only chips and gravy a peas, then a lady walked in and ordered followed by a man who said he's picking up a phone order, waited a few minutes for fresh chips and then they served the man before me, quite a big order but they waited for his fish to finish before serving him but made me wait just for chips, always like that there

Alex and the team do a great job great service and great food in a friendly environment !!!
