Dolphin Fish Bar in Waveney

The best fish and chip I've had in years. The batter was light and crispy the fish was cooked to perfection and the chips was tasty without a bitter after taste. I would recommend the chippy and give a score 💯 You have to try it for yourself and thank me later.

Ordered through Just Eat - was delivered around 1hr after requested - not sure if a JE or merchant issue either way both kids were pretty cranky. Food quality was standard pub game nothing special or memorable. Fairly well priced for what you got.

Great little find in Lowestoft not far from the sea front. Visited with my husband and daughter. Traditional looking place, friendly, great portion sizes and had a children's menu. Would recommend

Batter was very soggy along with the chips. It was clearly made in a rush to get orders out the door

food was cold sausages were undercooked and possibly sausages from the day before. none of the food ordered was eaten and it took an hour to arrive

The chips were some of the best chips I’ve ever had however it was really let down but how salty the batter was. Even the batter on the marsbar was unbearably salty. Also the description on the potato scallop needs up dating as it says it’s comes in a bread roll and it didn’t. I hope the salt was just a mistake.

Fish an chips cooked differently from normal but still taste great and piping hot.

The batter on the fish was nowhere near as good as normal/ It was dark and oily. This is my go to chippy as usually the food is excellent. Hopefully this was a one off

As usual lovely, chips just right lovely and soft.

we had to go collect as there were no driver's we had been waiting an hour and half then had to go back as we had sausage n chips missing. This was an £84 order was disappointing

Chips were good but so are any deep fried potatoes. I thought an hour wait was a bit excessive but then it was half hour late on top of that… it’s hard to think a portion of chips and sausage would take that long.

Chips lovely as usual, portion bit smaller than past orders. Battered Sausage smashing as always, just a let down on the fish this order, mushy, orange texture on one side.

food tastes good, however potato scallops were advertised as coming in a roll with lettuce and mayo and they were just on their own…also £3.50 for a single sausage is ridiculously expensive, could get two of the same size for cheaper anywhere else

Absolutely brilliant normally but tonight me meal went to kirkley n stopped numerous times on the way to me in Oulton Broad hence cold meal white chips wasn't pleasant so bin n bed asked for refund not something I normally. Sorry

Always loved dolphin but it's gone down hill now!! The sausages are tiny in the deal, the extra sausage was a patty instead of the normal large one, chips portions were tiny and the scampi didn't even come with chips at 7.20 when it usually does! Scampi wasn't even crispy. Really disappointed and will not be ordering from here ever again.

order food at 3pm, waited until 4pm for order to arrive, but as usual food was delicious.

Tried the cod nuggets today, but wasn't keen as thought they would be in batter and not breadcrumbs. But having said that I will still try almost everything on the menu that I like. Fantastic batter on fish and the large chips covered 2 plates. will be ordering at least once a week in the winter. Great service ***************

Went here last week with friends at teatime & we ate in their restaurant. The food was extremely tasty - we could tell that it had all been freshly cooked to order & not just sat around like some chippies do. The chips were beautifully cooked as were the sausages that I had. My 2 friends each had the fish & said that the golden batter was the nicest they'd eaten in a very long time. Food wise, I'd give this place top marks for sure. The only drawback here is they are quite expensive we thought - £48 for 3 people in a chip shop? Maybe it's with the price of everything going up, & the fish was absolutely gorgeous as I said so real good quality, plus you always pay more to sit in instead of takeaway, but we just thought it was slightly steep. But hey ho, we all enjoyed it and that's what matters, so ok to pay it as a treat now & then, but you couldn't really afford those prices on a regular basis to visit a backstreet chippy I wouldn't have thought. I'd come back here though if in the area as although a bit pricey, the food quality certainly makes up for it.

The batter was a lot better this time as it was thinner and this made it crispy, the chips were also better soft fluffy and white but I always buy from Dolphin best fish and chips ever, fish is always fresh

Oh so delicious, was very hot, the batter was not too crispy, the chips were delicious, This is our second order from here and we will be ordering once a week as a treat.

My hubby is a fussy eater and he said it was exceptional, he is 70 and said it was the best fish and chips he has ever tasted, largest piece of fish i have ever seen, will order smaller next time, great value for money, will be ordering again very soon. 10 stars for exceptional quality food.

This is a plain and simple fish and chip cafe rather than a restaurant. It has a wide range of fish, pies, etc on offer and our fish was first class quality and very generous portions. No frills but good value and old fashioned in a good way!

Fish & chips delivered deliciously hot only 5 minutes late, but it is Friday. Driver very courteous. The food was excellent. I will definitely be using just eat again.

Food was good as always but the delivery wasn’t as good. Food was left at the door on the concrete floor and the driver was already back in the car and pulled away as I answered the door. Just as well it was the right address.

Food delivered on time and hot. I had the haddock light bite very happy with the quantity and the food was really enjoyable.

Ordered at 17:10 for a 18:00 delivery, Order confirmed at 17:12 and stated confirmed until 18:20, Rang chip shop and they confirmed that Just Eat hadn’t confirmed a driver, Delivery time then changed to 18:37 and at 18:30 delivery time changed to 18:52. Food arrived at 18:47. Very poor from Just Eat!!! Dolphin Chip shop were great though and food was clearly fresh.

Proper fish an chips with a cod that needs two plates its so big and real chip shop chips.Keep it up guys.10/10.

Rang store many time told me left ten minutes before delivery time but didn't turn up for over 50 minutes past delivery time an was cold when challenge the delivery driver they said he only had it 10 minutes which he clearly didnt

Food was excellent boiling hot and very tasty was missing the chips from the burger and chips meal I ordered but the cheese chips I ordered covered the missing chips. The portions are so big they are well worth the price and look forward to ordering from here again

That unfortunately was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Fish over cooked. Chips were nearly all bits and over cooked. I'll never use them again or recommend them to anyone.

Chips were awful Fish didn’t seem fresh . Grey in colour and it wasn’t skin.
