Today my granddaughter and I visited L’Amore because it looked inviting. We really enjoyed the sandwiches because they were proper sandwiches with tasty fillings of smoked salmon, cream cheese and crispy lettuce. They were a manageable size without tons and tons of unwanted salad on the side, just a small pot of coleslaw. All very nice. The service was friendly and the price very reasonable for sandwiches, desserts and drinks. My only criticism is that I was not asked for contact details for Covid contact tracing. Some cafes do this and I wish all cafes did - it’s the only way it will work. Otherwise a very pleasant lunch.

Wanted somewhere for a nice lunch, and found this place. And glad we did!We sat upstairs, and it was lovely, beautiful furnishing and decor. We shared a plate of cheesy chips which were lovely, and I had a cheese baguette with a little tub of coleslaw and my husband had chicken tikka and mint baguette. There was a mishap with our original meals as the chef dropped the plates! He came up in person to apologise to us which was nice of him but accidents do happen!!All in all, the food was lovely and good service.Nice to have 80s music on in the background too. And the bathroom/toilets were very nice!

Came here again as the food was so lovely. Best place to sit outside upstairs....not anymore? (Safety reasons) Shame though as it will be the last time. We came here last Wed lunchtime and as 3 of of us, ordered a bottle of wine as it would be more economical. The poor waitress came upstairs with just 1 glass? She said that was all they had and did we want to order another bottle of something else? Cut a long story short (after asking for another 2, No red or rose) we ended up with the only white bottle they had. Food was amazing!! But, when we went down to pay, the manager lady asked her son in front of us if we had had paid for the "Said glass of wine"? Sorry we ordered a bottle because it would be cheaper! We had already left a tip worth more than the glass.

What a find! Been to Lowestoft a few times & never noticed this lovely little place before, it’s just off the Main Street so easy to see. The BEST fish & chips at a really good price, excellent service the staff where so friendly, we had to sit outside as we’d got our dog with us, they offered to put the patio heaters on even though it was warm enough without. All that’s missing is a sea view. Don’t think we’ll ever go to Lowestoft without having lunch here.

I discovered this little restaurant down a side street in Lowestoft. There was a good choice of food, all made to order on the premises. The quality was good and my sandwich was delicious. There were salads to choose from and lovely cooked meals. The staff were friendly and meals served promptly. If I lived in Lowestoft I would be a frequent customer. We live close by and have a couple of usual breakfast places. The favourite we had just missed their cut off and we had been rather brusquely turned away from the second. They were too busy with half term tourists, who they doubtlessly won't see again, well they won't see us again either because we'll be at L'amore. We have seen these premises change hands a couple of times and never been tempted inside before. Well, I'm glad the others did turn us away. The restaurant has been beautifully refurbished to a very high standard and is very clean and very tidy. We went upstairs and it is equally as nice upstairs. The staff are all very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We had a D.I.Y breakfast which means you can choose your own components and it was delicious. Lovely fried bread which is not on offer very often these days. We used the facilities before we left and they were spotlessly clean and very nicely presented. We will most certainly be back.

Great service, lovely food. Home cooked recipes too. Pleasant decor and clean toilets. You can see the kitchen as you enter which is a good sign. If a restaurant/ cafe is prepared to have a kitchen on view it has got to be clean! Failing that check out the toilets. Expect the standard to be upheld there too. My friends and I eat there nearly every week and have tried a few items on the menu, we have never been disappointed. Immediate impressions of this cafe might not be great, as sadly the outside seating is monopolized by smokers, but inside its a very clean, smart cafe with extremely friendly staff, great food, and actually, the upstairs area is quite classy! Its just the sort of place to sneak off for a quiet lunch with friends, far enough off the beaten track to take a date, smart enough not to look cheap, yet very good value. Lowestoft has far too many cafes, but this is probably the best.

The owner took time to speak with us and engage us in caring conversation for some time. And it wasn't just us; I saw her spend time with everyone who came in to eat. Most places are run on an impersonal, profit-driven basis. L'amore presents a straight-forward, honest and simple but genuine restaurant. I was genuinely impressed.

The soup was very weak hardly any flavour at all. The coffee where meant to be latte but where way too strong and the hot chocolate was weak and watery. Asked for a simple Caesar salad was given something that was nothing near Caesar salad and was promptly told when I questioned it that it didn't have many ingredients so they added things. This means it's not a Caesar salad. And the sauce was nothing like it should be.

I’ve been here for a few afternoon teas and lunches. The food is always lovely and cooked well, the themed afternoon teas are always really fun and a great treat for the local area. However the staff are not very attentive, they give you your food/drinks and leave you! It states unlimited drinks but they don’t ask if you need more, they don’t even check if your food is okay or if you need anything. At one point my friend said ‘excuse me’ and tried getting the attention of staff at the table next to us and the staff member just walked away, when we finally managed to ask for more tea they huffed like we were an inconvenience. There were also loads of hairs on our food, I think they were blowing around because they just kept appearing, maybe because they allow dogs. It’s a shame because I love the afternoon teas but it has put me off.
