The best restaurants in Takeley and the Canfields Uttlesford East of England

New owners. At last somewhere local to have a coffee in a legitimate business offering great breakfast, lunch and brunch options.

Fantastic food and service. We all enjoyed our meals and will definitely return. The staff were so friendly and welcoming.

Beware this place is not dog friendly. We visited because there was a dog agility event on and sat inside with our dog, as there weren't any signage stating they weren't allowed and there's dog water bowls provided by the door. We were served by 3 different staff members, one of whom even smiled at our dog, none of them said anything about our dog being there. Then after we had eaten, I was then suddenly told dogs aren't allowed inside. I explained I was waiting for my wife to come back from the toilet and then we'd be leaving. About 2 minutes later, a second staff member came up to tell me the same, and I had to explain the same. It got so awkward and I felt like I was being harassed to leave, so I started leaving as my wife came back. I queued up to pay quickly and the staff member behind the counter (presumably a manager or the owner) started rudely shouting for me to leave because dogs aren't allowed. It's baffling that such a scene was being made when the entire hour we were there eating and having coffee nobody seemed to even know our dog was there. Put up some clear signage if it's such a big problem and don't bother providing water bowls if you hate dogs so much.

Lovely little spot on the flitch way. Stopped for lunch with the kids- very accommodating and peaceful!

Nice clean and bright hotel within walking distance of terminal, but also very quiet !Food good and quick service, much cheaper than I thought it would be, so near to airport. Left car there and picked up without any issues on our return.

Decent food, but almost hilariously terrible service - one man called Gabriel responded “I have nothing to do with the app” when I asked him if I could order an item with him due to it not appearing on the app. Probably best to grab an Itsu and not be condescended.

I always come here as the only decent coffee place in stanstead airport today disappointed small flat white tastes like a cup of milk so weak no way is that a double shot. Please up your game coffee is important

The pub was very busy when we arrived and extremely noisy. Happily we found a small area towards the back of the restaurant where a lovely gentleman named David was working. Welcoming people and taking orders. Such a gentleman. Calm, efficient, took the time to explain ways of payment. A noisy group of youngsters were spoken to quietly, immediate reduction in volume. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly considering how busy it was. Everything was hot, cooked well, and nicely presented, 2 drinks, fish and chips, ham, mushroom pizza plus side salad, £42, happy with that. And excellent service, thank you David x

This place has no idea how to treat a customer, service was absolutely shocking, when I complained I was meet with nothing but aggressiveness and would not let my dog eat here

Should have stayed in my hotel room and chewed my flip flop! 12 fries, not even a fork full of coleslaw with our very average burger. Which was luke warm at best. Not expecting the world from these restaurants but for the price should be more

Had a couple of cocktails before going for food. Staff were very pleasant and made good drinks. You are sat in the middle of the lounge if that bothers you. Prices reflect airport prices, 3 drinks at £34.

If that’s a Cornish pasty then I have no idea how they are so popular. This was heavy tasteless and virtually inedible. I binned it for a burger - never again!

Fast service from counter. Had Greens and Grains Chicken Salad and baked fries. Very nice food at busy airport landside. Plenty of seating in shared area.

Kali is so so sweet!! Love the concept of this restaurant and the food was so delicious 😍😍😍 probably some of the best airport food I've had. Wish I knew about this restaurant while in London 😅 I only discovered it at the airport lol
