Due to Ryanair being Ryanair we stayed two nights here instead of one - myself and my four year old. I’ll leave a separate review for the hotel as they were all wonderful - but Mark in the restaurant was an efficient and lovely waiter. He responded promptly and with humour to each request arising from a Tired 4 year old. My daughters food was better quality than most restaurants and arrived quickly (a plus for tired travellers). An abundance of colouring sheets and crayons too.

Terrible. Ordered 3x extra pepperoni pizza I got about 5 pieces and pizza wasn't cooked properly,I complained got another 4 pieces chucked on and still wasn't cooked so probably just microwaved it and certainly not 3x pepperoni. My wife ordered chicken noodles, she had to pay extra for the chicken, she ate the chicken, the noodles where reheated at the same time as they took my pizza back as she didn't want to eat alone so she didn't eat them, absolutely rank and a waste of money. Go to the mcdonald's nearby or use the hotel restaurant next door as we will if we stay again.

We visited this restaurant as we’re staying in the Premier Inn and was overall disappointed. Food took ages to arrive and when it did the batter of the fish was anaemic and the beans looked like tomato soup. The lasagne was ok but if you want garlic bread think again as it is thinner than my patience. I asked one waitress for butter who just disappeared and never resurfaced. Cat, one of the waiting staff, was the only thing keeping the place together. Apologising for waits and remaining calm under pressure as well as providing a chatty and approachable manner. Honestly, I would say don’t bother, but maybe go just to see Cat

Youseff our waiter this evening was brilliant. We have stayed at the hotel and eaten at this restaurant numerous times and this was by far the best. No waiting around for a drink, meals served in good time but not rushed. Youseff was very responsive and kept the other staff on their toes 😊 Food was also a lot better this time. Thanks to all the team for a good experience tonight.

We travel around the UK a lot so stay in a lot of Premier Inns and this by far is the worst restaurant we have ever experienced. We were showed to our very "cosy" table of 6, 2 of whom where our young children. The restaurant was not busy at all. The waiter came over and asked what we wanted to order so we ordered a couple of starters then my husband wanted a steak. The "waiter" then advised "oh we don't have steak". "OK I'll have lasagne instead please." "Oh we don't have any of that either!" So my husband asked what else don't they have before he went onto his 3rd choice. The waiter advised that they don't have any steaks, mixed grills, lasagne or pizzas. Therefore not a lot of choice left! Surely that's the 1st thing you tell your customers?? In the end he settled for a curry. My children wanted spaghetti bolognaise so I asked if they had it. The "waiter" said he would have to check so off he popped. To my relief they did have it so I ordered this with garlic bread. He then came back and asked what sides they wanted. I didnt really know what to order with spaghetti bolognaise but as it was included I just ordered corn on the cob and peas. Sitting waiting patiently for our food when the waiter turns around and asks if we want all our food served together. Now in any other restaurant, we usually take this to mean do we want the kids food served with the adults so we just said yes. A few minutes later, my order, a chilli con carne appeared and was placed down infront of me. I asked where my starter was and the very short tempered waitress stated "you wanted all your food together?" To which I agreed but assumed as I'd ordered a starter, that would come out 1st.....clue being in the word "starter " ??? So I told her I didn't want that yet and would like to start with my starter to which she huffed and took my meal away. The starters came out a few minutes later, this time by different staff again. This was ok but totally not as described in the menu!!! Far from it!!! Shortly after this my kids spaghetti bolognaise arrived. Well....all I can say is that I saw it was inedible as soon as it was put infront of my kids. I investigated with my knife and fork.....it was just a congealed mess and stone cold. The peas and corn on the cob were a shriveled up dried pathetic mess on the side of the plate. Then my chilli arrived so I tried it....absolutely stone cold, clearly left on the side under a heat lamp. At this point, I lost my mind and sent mine and my kids meals back, asking the "waiter" how on earth they could serve stuff so inedible. My husbands curry was also like warm but he was so hungry he ate half of it. I complained to our "waiter" and told him we were off to McDonalds. All the staff wanted to do was stand around and chat and clearly didn't give 2 hoots about their customers or what they were serving them.

An absolute car crash from start to finish. Reception advised we book a table as they were busy so we did. As we sat down the “waiter” advised that some items were crossed off the menu as they had run out. Opening the menu, half the items were unavailable. We decided on fish and chips and a starter to share and ordered 2 drinks. Our server advised that the fish wasn’t hand battered but oven baked in breadcrumbs and that they had no tartar sauce left. When we asked why she muttered something about Brexit and Covid! No discount was offered for the substandard fish and chips advertised at a staggering £14.95 so we ordered a cheese burger with additional maple cured bacon at an extra £2 and a veggie burger on a brioche bun. A table of 6 came in after us and 2 tables of 2 who all got drinks served and we were still sitting there without any. The restaurant wasn’t even half full and I counted at least 8 serving staff who all seemed to be walking around with food in their hands not sure where it was supposed to go, or taking full uneaten plates back to the kitchen all whilst giggling, flicking their hair and not a single mask in sight. We should have realised then and gone to McDonalds next door or ordered a delivery. We asked our server if she had forgotten our drinks and she seemed clueless. The other tables then got their starters so we called her over again and she just said she would go and check. We had been sitting there 45 minutes and still didn’t even have a drink. They finally arrived and after sitting in a taxi for 2 and a half hours from Great Yarmouth were very welcome. Our starter arrived an hour after ordering and was nice. After watching the other tables have their mains, finish and pay while we were STILL waiting for our mains all we could say was “we should have stayed at the Hilton”. A server turned up with a burger and stood at our table in silence. When we asked what it was she said a burger. My husband said I asked for a cheese burger with bacon, where’s the bacon? The server launched into a rant about she just brings the food she doesn’t make it it’s not her fault and if he carries on having a go at her she will call management. My husband merely asked where his bacon was, then proceeded to say you work here therefore it is your responsibility to check the order. He should have said, give me a chip off that plate to put on your other shoulder but he didn’t. The burger wasn’t even for us as she then gave it to someone else. Our meals finally arrived and were underwhelming. The over inflated prices and substandard food is just not acceptable especially considering we had just spent 2 weeks in Great Yarmouth where fish, chips, mushy peas and yes tartar sauce are on every menu. I suggest the staff do some work experience at Wetherspoons which have quadruple the amount of items on their menu and far greater footfall of customers who all seem to get served on time with a friendly smile. The bacon was minuscule not even half a rasher (see picture) also check the picture on the front of the menu, trades description I think! The brioche buns were not at all and were rock hard. No onion or tomato was found even though the menu stated that it was served with both. The bill should have been £62 the most expensive meal in the 2 weeks we had just had but we refused to pay for both meals. As a vegetarian I don’t go to McDonalds but I’m sure I could have found something to eat at a quarter of the price and better quality.

Stayed here a few times for work and the food is very average at best, certainly wouldn't pay my own money for it. Today's salad with a 'dressing' was very poor, the salad before has looked a bit on the edge of going off so I guess they decided to drown it in French dressing instead to hide that. Add to that a rowdy bunch watching football on their phones in the restaurant that the staff didn't seem to care less about and all in all, a very unpleasant experience!

I'm rolling my eyes writing this half a day later. The layout is weak at best, but once seated in the dining room we were ready to order. The food came out relatively quickly. My wife hated mine and I hated here, however together we both liked the food. The curry surprised me. It was really good. However, I added chicken and it was very clearly a frozen Tyson chicken breast. Cut and dry. We both decided because we liked our food and drinksthat we'd only eat half and get a dessert to split. We asked the waitress to box the food, to go, in a take away bag. I said it three ways because she kept looking at me but not really engaging and I wasn't sure if I was suddenly a mute or if she was daft. Well, long story short we paid 50 pounds to eat half a meal and when we asked the server where our food was she just kind of shrugged it off, no refund or replacement offered. Keep in mind that all this would have actually been fine. I wouldn't have even blinked. Everyone has bad days. That's cool. What wasn't cool is that we watched a large party next to us served by our server get their check immediately. The same for the 2 tables in front of us. However, and still a mystery to me, we didn't get our check for over an hour after dessert. We didn't have drinks. There was absolutely no purpose for us to be there. We asked multiple people for our server, our check, waived people down, etc. We couldn't have been more proactive without being rude if we tried. I don't know if they wanted us to stare at the ugly colored walls, the 1982 wallpaper, or grandma's outside smoking tables. But I assure you no one comes for the deco. We ended up ordering Indian takeaway food later for 1/3 the price and 2x the quality. We won't make the same mistake again.

We have stayed at the Premier Inn before but did not stay this time as they were fully booked so we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express next door. After a disastrous first nights meal at theHoliday Inn express we decided to dine at the Premier Inns restaurant as we had eaten there before. The atmosphere was buzzing when we arrived at around 9.00pm and we were greeted warmly and taken to a table and told that there may be a short wait as it was very busy which it certainly was. The waitress was very friendly and took our order returning within 5 minutes with our wine. The food followed about 15 minutes after the order so even though it was busy the service was very good. The meal was very good, the service and ambiance were wonderful, so all in all we had a very enjoyable and pleasant evening which is what we have come to expect from this particular Premier Inn. As hotel restaurants go and especially the ones near Stagnated airport this is one of the best.

One night stay after evening return flight to Stansted. The food is kind of pub grub, but is good, hot, and tasty. Staff are excellent, and given that this is in a hotel at a major airport we reckoned that prices were pretty reasonable. Breakfast hot buffet could have been hotter but it's a difficult problem to solve, having hot food available and yet keeping it hot. Very good.

Having arrived quite late in the evening we were after a quick meal so we could go to sleep prior to an early flight so ate in the Premier Inn restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by how decent food was (after not expecting too much). Curry was actually fairly spicey. It was noticeable that the pre-printed list of menu items that were not available was quite lengthy and a bit surprising for a Tuesday evening. Still, a decent meal at a decent price.

Very average restaurant. Ordered sharing starter platter to share amongst 4 people. Had to return meal as was cold. New one came out however this too wasn’t that hot either. When we got onto mains, it was also just about warm, but we ate it regardless as was fed up with waiting around. It was getting late. Food also came out like it had been thrown on plate. Limited menu as lots unavailable. Seemed very busy but maybe they should be more prepared seeing as it’s a restaurant linked to a hotel based at an airport and will clearly be busy. £92 later for a very average meal!

So we ate here the first night of our holiday. Ordered a pizza for me and the gluten free mixed grill for my other half. Despite the waiter bringing the food and stating it was a gluten free mixed grill it came with the sausage on the plate (sausage isnt gluten free). They took it away when pointed out. Second mixed grill arrived. I had eaten my pizza by this point. Two hairs underneath the chicken. Nice! We ended up paying only for the pizza and my drink because of this. The next day my other half was ill. He has a mushroom allergy. One complete day of our holiday ruined. Thyme restaurant were told about this allergy at the time. Clearly they need some training when it comes to this. Or perhaps they're just not bothered. Sadly we had to eat here a week later for breakfast. But my other half didnt dare eat anything cooked by these people. £10.50 each and he had 2 bowls of fruit and yoghurt. Shame on you Premier Inn. Train your staff better.

The veggie burger I ordered basically tasted like dry cardboard and I wouldn't class the soggy couple of leaves it was served with as a "salad"!! I did get a small slice of red pepper though. Apparently because I didn't have a bun, I got a small pot of mayo which I am assuming wouldn't have come with it otherwise!? Service at the reception, resturant and the bar was brilliant though and I'm just commenting on the food only.

I never hold out much hope for restaurants attached to hotels, especially those that haven’t got much else around them to make it competitive. I feared a basic but edible meal, and assumed I was in for the worst when I waited 10 minutes to be seated. I am glad to say I was wrong. The waitress who seated me was very apologetic over the wait. My waiter, Chris, then came to take my order and everything was very quick from then on. Aside from the peas, my gammon steak meal was cooked to perfection, everything just the right flavour and good quantities (not excessive, not lacking). When he came to check on how my meal was, I mentioned to Chris that the peas were tasteless and shouldn’t be served to anyone else. He offered a side salad as a replacement, which I didn’t think was necessary so declined. However, he brought it over anyway which I just thought was a really nice touch in a busy restaurant that really didn’t need to pull out all the stops for me.

Ce qui est dommage c'est que le service est visiblement compétent et fait son maximum... ce n'est pas lui qu'il faut blâmer, mais le management.

We visited the restaurant while staying at the hotel, The food was acceptable but over priced for what you get. Service wasn't brilliant either. To some it up is if you weren't staying here and had a choice of other restaurants close by you wouldn't choose to dine here! I expect better from premier inn!

When you stay at the PTI chain you know that the food in the restaurant is going to be reliable and a safe bet!The decor hasn't been revamped (like the Kings Cross PTI) so is a little dated now... but the menu is the same and food quality good !Nice little pre holiday treat !

The restaurant is part of the hotel, but the service is very slow and the food not very good, it is also expensive, I would be tempted to find something else, even McDonald's up the road would be better.

Usual Premiere Inn food - available when needed. Neither the food or service were particularly good, not where you would eat for choice.

We decided to use the restaurant as we were staying the night with a early flight in the morning. As we were checking-in we were asked by a friendly member of staff if we would like to book a table. When we arrived later in the evening we were sat fast and had great service from our server. The food was great for the price and there was hardly any wait even though it was a busy evening.

Definitely recommend booking a table on arrival at the premier inn as it can get busy. Fab selection on the menu. I had the BBQ burger and chocolate brownie for dessert, both looked and tasted fab! Reasonably priced too

I ate at Thyme when I stayed at the Premier Inn it's housed in. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The menu was a little limited for me, as I don't eat chicken or beef. I had fish and chips, which were obviously freshly cooked as they were piping hot! My meal was very tasty, so no complaints.I watched the staff with other diners, and they really were very good - friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I had breakfast the following morning, which was also very good.

As we were checking into the premier inn we decided to upgrade our booking to include an evening meal as we were there earlier enough to eat there.Meal options are not as varied as you get at the Brewers Restaurants which are usually attached to Premiers Inns when we have stayed but it was ok.Although it's not food we would book and plan to go out for a special family meal it serves a purpose and would say it's adequate, had the mixed grill and the meat was ok quality and cooked well, the steak was medium as I had asked.Cannot fault the staff, they were excellent, very on the ball, very friendly and nothing at all was any trouble, they were even advising the best way to use the meal plan based on what we wanted. All in all if I have got this right Breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids (kids free) was originally £21, adding the meal plan took this to £49.98, our meal came to just over £73 and we had to pay £24 (kids meals and extra drinks) of this taking our meal deal voucher off, it said we had made a £3 saving having the meal deal, but you are actually getting breakfast free through this offer because the £21 is within the price.Definitely a deal worth doing.

After driving down to Premier Inn Stansted,we chose this place because it's within the hotel itself. My partner had the Lamb Burger and I the Steak and Kidney Pudding with mash. When the dishes came, mine looked like the mash, peas and pudding had fallen out as they were spread out on an oblong plate. Upon cutting into said pudding,I found that the base was over done to nearly burnt! Steak and Kidney puddings are meant to be moist/soft not anything like this one. When asked if the meals were OK,they were told about the base. I was given a new dish several minutes later only to find out the replacement was exactly the same!! My partner enjoyed hers so I wished I'd chosen something else. When asked again how it was, they received the same reply. Apologies later, but I expected a discount that never came. The meals aren't exactly cheap either.

Duck parcels straight out of the fire- wife burned her lips. Fish and chips ok - Rib eye steak ordered rare came well for bit was quickly changed. Eaton mess large, but nothing to write home about. A Luke warm Irish coffee served from the bar was acceptable...well, we were just passing through after all...

Overall the food was dire. - Starter of duck parcels was over crispy parcels with almost no filling. The slaw was not worth trying. - Main of hunters chicken. Chicken was dry, cheese wasn't melted, a tiny drizzle of BBQ sauce, and chips were like airy fried oil. - Dessert of chocolate brownie. Think they bought it from the local Iceland, straight out of the freezer and into the microwave. Luckily my plate was drowning in toffee sauce...Certainly wouldn't visit again, luckily it was through work I would have complained for a refund!

Restaurant was convenient as staying at the Premier Inn but the food was only average and not as hot as we would have liked. Unfortunately we were late, as the postcode given us did not take us to the restaurant so we drove round for a while, so we were too hungry to bother sending the food back.

Ate both dinner and breakfast here during a stay at the Premier Inn using the package offered by the hotel which seemed good value. For dinner, the service was exemplary with our orders taken quickly and the food arriving with commendable rapidity. Both the gammon and the steak were cooked to perfection. Desserts were fine, although the pastry case on the pistachio Bakewell tart had a slightly ‘soggy bottom’.Breakfast was a typical buffet affair but was extremely well presented and the cooked selection was first class. Poached eggs were cooked to order and were done to perfection.Whilst I wouldn’t use an establishment such as this for a special occasion, it is more than adequate for an overnight stay at an airport and, in my opinion, beats some of the more prestige brands at other airport hotels both in terms of quality of food and value for money.

Starting our holiday with a study at the airport once again, we hadn't booked but got a table quickly allocated and the staff were very good. The kids enjoyed their meals, my only comment about the adult meals was that the mac n cheese was indifferent; I can do a much better job myself.
