The best restaurants in St Marys Tendring East of England

It's Sunday - my birthday - and despite only moving into this area on Thursday, I've been in here twice. The food is superb, the atmosphere authentic and welcoming and the staff are wonderful, really wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone without hesitation, an excellent find. I will be back... and not just to have the waitresses sing happy birthday to me.

Warm friendly service, took the time to explain how they spiced their food. Patient and helpful. Food cooked fresh, in eco friendly packaging. But the wow came when we tucked in to the food. Awesome, will definitely be back.

There was a long wait and the food was cold. I was disappointed. And the meat was burnt and the sauce in the wife's dish was wrong. There was chili sauce instead of BBQ sauce.

Will not be back. Even after my wife getting her food for free that she did not eat. Order food. Came cold but plate was hot. My wife had the noddle that were cold. Sent food back and said food was cold.so the meal was replaced with the same noddle out of the microwave. Now the noddles were like rubber. We will not be back even for free food

We just went for drinks and live music, but was a good night...

I need to take medication 30 minutes before I eat so unexpected early delivery was a problem.

Lovely food and atmosphere . New owners are fantastic. Food was amazing tonight. No soggy veg like most pubs. Mash was terrific and pork was tasty with stuffing. Owners so friendly and staff so helpful. Definitely going to start going there again and will recommend. There was literally nothing to complain about. Friend knocked over drink and before we had a chance, any of us, to respond the owner was over with napkins to clean up and straight into bin and out the way. No sticky tables. Its really pretty with all the lights in and out. Mobility ramp at back. So nice to catch up with friends and hubby had great bday. Literally can't complain about a thing, not one of us. Friend said chicken burger was huge fillet and lovely. Other Friend feeding cold and had fantastic looking hot pot which she loved. 2 of our group had fish and chips and it looked and apparently tasted brilliant. Hubby had said he was tired and hadn't wanted to go out but had brilliant time and we were last out the door at closing as we all dragged our feet to leave. Think we could of sat talking till morning without realising the time, it was so relaxing. Definitely going for quizz night once a month and will probably start up our wed night dinner with friends again. Toilets clean. Bar clean and not sticky or wet. Such nice people. Can't recommend enough. Thanks guys. Xxx

Ordered takeaway as not many Chinese takeaways open on a Monday night. We didn't have a menu leaflet and the lady on the phone kindly and patiently found the items we liked and found them or suggested similar dishes and quoted the prices We ordered and the delivery arrived on time ,hot and delicious.The prawn crackers were so tasty We recommend trying

Don't waste your money and eat here not very busy and now I know why but thought give them a chance had sirloin steak no way was it sirloin not tender at all and just like eating rubber def cheap bit of steak they got from icelands and I left it and I never ever leave any food so please don't waste your money and eat here

great fish and chips shop .i got rock which could not always get ,cook fresh ,chips great best fish and chips we had for a long time staff really friendly as well ,if on holiday go their great service x

Had the Burger which tasted good but because there wasn't a stick through the middle to hold together it was all over the place in the box looked like a scrambled mess

Went to pickup this pizza around 45 minutes ago, I got there 3 minutes later and my order wasn’t ready after being told on the app that it’s ready. Staff were making other peoples orders, then saving mine for last. I waited 35 minutes from chill anger to really losing my shit. Overall the pizza was okay, not overcooked at all but it was stuck together!! I recommend not buying from this location!
