The best restaurants in St Bartholomews Tendring East of England

My Wife, Son and I love Flags Cafe and Lesley the owner. We went there for a drink with my Mother-in-law. I also ordered a Scotch egg. It was the biggest Scotch egg I had seen so had to get it. The food was warmed up for me and come with a side salad. It was the best Scotch egg i had ever had. The egg yolk was still runny the meat was cooked perfectly and the outside was slightly crispy, I really enjoyed it. All the food and cakes at Flags Cafe are cooked to perfection. Thank you.

We were staying at Holland On Sea for the easter break and found this pizzeria just up the road from where we were staying, we couldn’t decide what to eat. We were not disappointed one bit. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and welcoming and the owner himself is from Sorento (one place we want to go back to) had a lovely chat about Italy. The food menu was really good, so took a little while to decide lol, but what we did have was so delicious and yummy, the portion sizes are big, such good value for money. He also made some traditional Sorrento Easter cakes that that morning, so we had to buy one….WOW they were amazing, wish we had brought one each😋 We will definitely be back when we return.

This is the second time we have been here and the service is absolutely fantastic. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious. I think this place is worth visiting and we'll worth the money. Thank you to all the staff for your kindness and look forward to seeing you again when we are next down here. :-)

Had a lot better for the price we paid for afternoon tea. Usually there is so much food you need a doggy bag, here u don’t need one as just about enough.

Stunning food and fantastic service…also my little’un won a free portion of easter chips! Very pleasant staff and the fish was delicious

We have been using Pete's for a few months but w after being recommended. We love it. Huge portions, lovely friendly service. When there has been a minor issue like something. Forgotten, it is replaced on the next order. Fish feast is plenty for two people, curry sauce is good. There are not enough words to say how fab they are. Thank you all

Firstly, i have to say, i have just come on here to leave a review and i am shocked at some of the previous reviews. My wife and i have just returned home from a wonderful evening at The Mayflower. This isn't our first time here but i forgot to leave a review the last time, but this time this place blew us away and i had to. The food and service this evening was top drawer, Jack and Pheobe were rushed off their feet this evening, but handled the restaurant like true professionals with a constant smile on their faces and a professionalism that would put other restaurants to shame. I am only sorry i couldn't meet the chefs and thank them too, as the food was out of this world. This is without doubt THE chinese eat in restaurant in the Clacton/Holland area. Thank you so much guys, we will be returning again and again.

Food here is excellent. We had Sunday lunch. The pork came with a lovely piece of crackling. Very good choice of menu. Staff were very chatty and friendly, although the owners came across as the opposite, quite unfriendly and unwelcoming. The downside is the prices, although still reasonable compared to other local restaurants, are quite a bit higher than given on their website. Many people on here say their online prices need to be updated. I will definitely be going back, and will mention the online prices on my return.

First time as a family of 9 that we have eaten out on Christmas Day and it was absolutely amazing. The food was second to none plus lovely staff. Highly recommend

Stopped here on my way to London today, amazing coffee and brilliant service. I took a lot of time to pick what I wanted but the girl and the lad there were very accommodating to me. The coffee was made perfectly, better than any of the high street chains like costa and Starbucks. I must praise them for their service as well, not sure on their names but it was the blonde girl and the lad with the black hair. Will definitely be coming back.

Brilliant pub will definitely me coming back when next on holiday lovely service great play area for my boy and food was beautiful ❤️
