Brilliant as usual! Haven't been for awhile but food delicious. Great service and lovely and warm and welcoming!! Will be back for my Birthday soon!!

Although it is basically empty on a Thursday night, they still said our small cavapoo is not allowed..

My wife and I randomly chose Maffia’s for our dinner on our day out along the coast. We were so glad that we did! My wife called and booked a table for this evening. When we arrived, we were given a very friendly welcome and were shown to our table. The family ownership is very evident. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We were given time to browse the menu and choose drinks. The food was absolutely amazing. Everything was prepared fresh to order. Portion sizes were very good. There wasn’t a single thing we could find fault with. We will definitely recommend Maffia’s and would love to visit again.

1980s menu. Needs updating. Online menu needs prices changing . Pork belly exceedingly salty. It needs the salt to crisp the rind, but this was excessive. Staff, service and atmosphere great, BUT!!!!

Been there a few times and the food is always top class loverly place to spend your evening in. Will be going back when an local. Plus the staff are very very polite

First visit here. We wanted somewhere nice to celebrate our anniversary and were really glad we chose Maffias. Excellent food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. We would definitely come again for a special meal.

Really disappointed. One staff member was drunk, drinks order wrong, lost our table order all together so we had to advise correctly so they could charge us... Didn't stop for dessert

Maffias is a great place to eat. The service and food is exceptional. Great energy in the restaurant. They have a beautiful south west facing courtyard, perfect for the sun. Really made my wife feel special for her birthday, we will be going again and cannot recommend enough.

Just had our dads 90th birthday celebrations at Maffias. It was amazing. My family travelled over from Ireland and around Europe. What a welcome they were given. My dad was made feel so Special. The food was delicious. Service fantastic. George was incredible. She was such fun and just an incredible waitress and hostess. We look forward to our next visit 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Had a large birthday celebration at the weekend and they had the perfect table for us. The food was fantastic and very quick service. The staff were amazing and truly made the evening special for us. The young woman and young man who served us were great fun and made us feel so important. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back again!

Sort of upscale but not pretentious. I'd give the service an eight out of five: the best of Essex. I had a succulent fillet of Salmon. All the food was perfectly cooked.

Another great Sunday lunch at Maffias in Holland on Sea. Good attentive service. 4 different Sunday roasts all arrived together, hot with lots of different sauces and 2 huge bowls of vegetables. Lovely.

Booked Maffias for 53 people for our daughters 30th birthday yesterday bank holiday Monday, had the most amazing time food was spot on everyone one said food was so good the staff was brilliant thanks Chris and girls it was a fantastic day

Very nice food. Its not cheap but is very good quality.

1st time at this restaurant but won't be our last. The food was tremendous. My wife had the smoked salmon to start followed by the lamb, which she said was of the highest quality. I started with the pea & ham soup, followed by wing of skate. This was superb. The restaurant was very quiet, only 3 couples in, all of whom were visiting for the 1st time. This place deserves a visit.

The food and the staff were lovely, a lovely afternoon was had with family until the owner approached the table complaining that she had lost out because 2 people hadnt turned up (out of our control) and that 2 people only had small meals. This was said infront of the entire table, we were absolutely gobsmacked. Unfortunately she has now lost several loyal customers who had been visiting for many years. Feel for the staff, we're sure she had been drinking as many of the other reviews suggest.

Wow, just had the most amazing Sunday roast at Maffias brasserie in Holland on sea. We both had the Platter of roast meat, Pork, Beef and Turkey and it was huge, so glad we didn’t have a starter. The meal came complete with vegetables and for £15.95 it was good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will be making this our regular booking.

Amazing fresh food, cooked to order, served by a team who couldn't do enough to help, especially for the children who they cooked a meal for that was off-menu. I would highly recommend. Mafia's will be our restaurant of choice in Clacton.

I haven't been to Maffias for a couple of years. I went there to meet up with some great friends, for a catch up. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, staff very polite and welcoming. Service was great. A lovely place for a meal out.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch in smart and relaxing surroundings. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful regarding gluten-free options. I found my dessert a little too sweet for my palate, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. We look forward to returning.

Visited Maffia's for the first time and found the staff both welcoming and friendly. Whilst there wasn't a lot of choice on the menu, what we had was served without delay and was well presented. For starters we had mederteranian garlic prawns and a pork and bacon thereine followed by stuffed chicken breasts with daphonia potatoes and mixed veg. As the portion sizes were good, we were to stuffed to eat a desert. Prices was very reasonable. We will certainly visit the restaurant again with friends and will recommend the restaurant to others.

Really good New Years Day meals for our party of 6 a wide variety of English style foods reasonably priced for three courses about £25 per head friendly atmosphere with accomodating staff.

Lovely food we were the only ones eating.

Went to this restaurant for Xmas day as it was highly recommended to us. The cost was £90 each. I can not describe the disappointment for both of us. The starter we had was mushrooms in a wine and garlic sauce, which anybody could have made. The main dinner was bland and parts of the dinner was cold. The pudding was dry, and the cheese and crackers was the best part of the meal( which was not cooked) even that had a bit of limp salad on it, no dressing etc. If you are going to charge that sort of money, you expect a decent meal, unfortunately this was not the case. The only thing good about this restaurant were the staff, they were lovely. Maybe next year it would be advisable to put more of an effort on the food and the atmosphere. Although I won’t be trying it again.

My first experience of eating a celebration lunch for my husband's 70th birthday. Hannah was our waitress she was so attentive and caring, very professional. The owners chatted to us too. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend it.

Really ample Sunday roast with all the trimmings. So full, no room for a pudding!!Great staff really friendly. Good prices. This is about our 3rd visit. Havent been for a while, dont know why! We shall certainly be back. Highly recommended.
