The best restaurants in Roebuck Stevenage East of England

Went there for a late breakfast, but when i read the specials on the notice boards, I was blown away from the very good and tasty breakfasts, to the Specials he is adding to the Menu. This week was toad in the hole (See photo) It look good and very appealing , when it was served, it was a large portion which was very hot and tasted like good old mum used to make. People were looking at it when i was being served, and their choices for their lunch changed to the toad in the hole. It was soon sold out. Shane assures us that it will be back on the menu tomorrow. Great Breakfast!! We found this gem in our area great value for money all the weeks we ask for are no problem for them , very friendly staff Thanks will definitely be returning

This place is a go to for dinners if you feel like you want a perfect cuisine. Ali, my server, was a very nice man and very communicative with me and my family and he and Mahima completely uplifted our invigorating experience.

We visited in August and the place has changed name to Mollie's cafe. My omelette was really nice, but pretty small compared to what other local breakfast places serve. My boyfriend had a burger that was pretty small and basic. His salad was unwashed, you could see soil in the lettuce. Taking aside the important hygiene side around the salad, the burger price was too expensive for its taste, lack of components and size. Wouldn't visit again.

food was late even though it was reorder hours before, usually really good but not on this occasion.

Popped in for a quick beer before the football. Friendly staff and good beer, didn’t get the chance but curry looked great :)

Went in Saturday morning had a coffee and a hot chocolate and the man that was serving was terrible rude and the coffee that I got and the hot chocolate, my wife got was literally like dish water, but we literally left both of them cause I couldn’t drink them. It’s normally quite good but the man that the manager there occasionally is quite rude.

Forgot my wife’s item turned up 1 hr later after everyone had eaten , not good at all

Waitress didn't smile once. Ordered lasagna, and side salad. The lasagna was very sloppy and the salad was awful. Waitress never asked if everything was ok. She just stood looking fed up. I never asked for the bill, it was just brought over and before I could even look at it the card machine was brought over. Felt very rushed. There is a lot of bad comments on here, which the management should take heed to. I wouldn't recommend this place and definitely wouldn't return.

The most horrible landlady with bad manners I have ever come across anywhere she is definitely in the wrong job couldn't run a bath won't see me in there again

We go to the Old Forge every few weeks. It is the place we choose by default when we decide to eat out without planning. We like the place and the atmosphere and the children are not complaining of the food. The portions are generous and the prices are adequate. The only issue is that it can be crowded, on weekends there is a waiting queue for the roast meat. If you go on Saturday afternoon or Sunday it is better to make a reservation at least half a day in advance.

Have been to the Stevenage Nando's several times during 2024, and again in January of this year. Every single time I have visited I have been impressed with both the quality and consistency of the food, but the exceptional staff. People are always quick to complain but I have been impressed every time, and haven't met one member of staff who has fallen below excellent. Whatever you are doing with staff training or recruitment, keep it up!
