Costa Coffee in Stevenage

excellent service as normal from this Costa shame other Costa not as good as this one , even when busy Hannah always makes sure tables are clean, make great hot coffee, even my wife cannot drink it straight down like other coffee shops

I've been to many costas around the country but this one stands out. I think mainly due to the quality of service & coffee put on by Kieran and his team

This Costa has got worse. 2 star review 8 months ago now down to 1. Coffee is ok. Food is fair. One member is staff of competent but he is over worked trying to cover for his inept colleagues Inexperienced and slow staff who struggle with a shop not even half full. A shame. Used to be a reliable coffee shop.

Tables was dirty and my drink was cold not even warm

Not so busy today. But boy can it get noisy in there espicaly today thanks to one loud female, seems to echo!

Improved such a lot since being assessed again by Costa.

Maybe wipe the tables clean first, before asking me to sign in into your slow 🦥 Wi-Fi network so you can sell my details for profits. These kinds of evil exploiting corporations should know better than that. We will vote with our wallets!

Toilets were out of order which was awkward but otherwise. Good friendly staff . The 3 star overall rating was due to the inconvenience ...no pun intended

As always, excellent customer service at this Costa. Staff always cheerful and friendly. I have to single out Ioana. She always remembers my preferred drink, even though I'm not a regular. Excellent !!

Too many youngsters incapable of removing empties from tables but rather natter behind the counter. Dire place ,never again..

Pretty busy Sunday afternoon, NOT a good service, tables have trays left and no staff are bothered about collecting them. Instead guests are clearing out the empties. Service is not just asking people what they want,collect their money and make the drinks WHILE NATTERING BEHIND THE COUNTER LOUDLY.

Hannah runs great coffee Costa , even if they are very busy she always make time to take the coffee to a table if i am struggling because my wife is disabled

Service is very slow at this one, always a long queue and takes ages to get served. The staff are lovely though

They’re simply too busy everytime. It takes awfully long to get a coffee but once you’re past the usual 20-30mins wait, everything else is great

With about 6 staff there is complete disorganisation. Queuing for 15 mins with only 10 people infront of us at the start and still 5 ahead of us now. Seems food is being delivered with table service. Slow production. Really slow

Good cafe with quick service and nice hot drinks. Freshly baked croissants and other pastries. Ordered take away so can't comment on the atmosphere much but busy so must be good!

Very, very slow service from girls who didn't look like they wanted to be there and dirty tables waiting to be cleared. Don't go here!

Honestly the worst Costa to go to. Doesn’t matter what time or day you visit, the queue is always outside, your waiting over 10mins. Smokers right next to the door so you’re always breathing in the fumes whilst you’re queuing. Staff are relaxed, never an apology for the wait and on top of that they are always making coffee with the wrong milk. Definitely needs senior management to review the ins-tore management and staffing

I appreciate people can smoke outside, but the constant smoke that comes over from smokers is pretty off putting. It's a shame, as I want return.

Outrageous service today . I stood next in the Q to be served for over 10mins while the 2 members of staff fulfilled online orders cover and over !!!! The Q was growing and they both carried on doing the orders. You should be serving the customers who are there in store first . No food in rye counter like always , limited choice like always . The Costa at Roaring Meg needs to up its game

No food whats happening and this was at about 12 o'clock

Unbelievably slow, despite plenty of staff. Need to limit the menu and take people’s names like other chains so they can actually track orders rather than guessing and making it up as they go along. Waited 15 mins despite there being 5 staff , then get the wrong drink.

The place was untidy with cups etc which were dirty. Only one person serving 2 others were talking then they decided to start serving.

I spend more than £100 a week on coffee from Costa and love it . Been to this store and waited for 20 mins as the staff were busy dealing with online order . ( fair enough ) Just wanted to hear someone to say ‘I will be with you in a minute or sorry for delay’ something polite . Been completely ignored and when I was served no apology and ….

Good coffee shop for early lunching anytime cheaper and better customer service

The service was great and the coffee was good, but the queue time was quite long, management could do with adding staff on weekends. Update 2023 - pace has picked up and queues diminish quicker than previously. Coffee was well prepared and presented, though it was fairly busy we were able to find a table and sit. A selection of both m&s food and costa own brand is on offer. We opted for the tried and tested toasties, and a Victoria sponge Muffin!

Really friendly staff and superb service.

Updated 14 June 2023 Normal slow service even though there was 2 staff on the coffee machines and 1 on the till. Always a Queue outside, most times up to 6 waiting but peak can be up to 15. Winter times limited space inside, as it's packed. Inside. Floors dirty, toilets always smelly, tablets sticky. Outside really nears a refresh. Chairs and tables looking sub bleached and dirty. Outside walls are dirty. Path has lots of weeds. No outside cover, even with the increased heat and sunshine, it can be too hot to sit outside. General this is a very busy shop and soon more big shops moving in to roaring meg. The shop needs a refresher to make it better and cope with the increased human traffic.

Went in for a coffee to go. I got what I needed.

I visit costa nearly every day I'm impressed with all the staff especially Camilia who is always very friendly nothing is to much trouble always makes us laugh and always goes above and beyond.

Always a good selection of food and drink plus friendly helpful stall,a really nice Costa to visit

Lovely, hard working staff who always stay friendly and positive despite constantly being significantly undermanned. Good quality coffee, good food range. Collection/app ordering frequently not available due to constant lack of manpower. Cafe ambience is awful, as the music cannot be heard, people chatter is horrific as everyone seems to yell at each other, the constant din of the blenders is horrible. Costa needs to invest in some sound proofing to make the cafe area bearable, and please invest in your payroll budgets and give these people the manpower support they need. Opening hours are limited, and a town as busy and 'open all hours' as it is, desperately needs to be open until around 10pm or later.

I visited the Costa Coffee on the Roaring Meg Retail Park at around lunch time. The cafe was quite busy and I could only see three members of staff working. There was a bit of a queue to be served. One person was taking orders, another was making drinks and the third person was collecting dirty crockery. It's a shame as the person who served me was very polite but seemed under pressure to get people served as fast as possible. More staff required!

Coffee ok what more can i say! Its a coffee!

A really nice friendly worker called Camille really stood out the day I went. She wished me a happy a happy Eid as she noticed the henna patterns on my hand. She went around and asked customers if they were happy with their coffee which doesn't happy in these kinds of places. Very polite and respectable towards all customers.

All empty tables are left with dirty cups/ table trays on it. No place to seat at the clean table. Very poor service. Late coffee was not even warm. No recommend.

Wait time is very long. had to wait 25min standing to get one coffee.

Drinks ok but floor needs cleaning of rubbish and outside just as bad .

Always felt and been unclean (floor/tables/ handles) on the couple of times we've visited. Especially the disabled toilet. I thought a mention to head office would make a difference on our next visit, but sadly not. Also, it is difficult to use a wheelchair in the cafe as the tables are so close together.

Had a latte and sandwich, coffee was lovely and hot and the sandwich had a lot of prawns in and very fresh

Very nice service, but appalling bathrooms. Disabled bathroom had wee all over the floor, the normal bathroom had a wet floor too, not only was it horrible to walk in, it made using my crutches almost impossible as they were slipping.

Took money for an iced mocha only to then say they had no sauce so couldn’t make it, would I like a hot one instead. I said yes that’s fine, a large hot mocha is the same price as an iced one. Except they gave me a medium, so pocketed the difference I did email customer feedback a week ago to resolve but they haven’t even bothered to reply so I’ll leave it as a review here Poor.

Small store but the outside seating makes this larger, the staff are very friendly and my coffee and cake were nice too!

This place does nice muffins and lovely Cappuccinos.

At this time - On average this is one of the best Costa’s I ever been Location is the best and staff are very welcoming. - two things to mention more care of the tables is required, side doors need Pull/Push sign 🪧

Good service, busy and very noisy, should have sat outside in the sun

Always understaffed; tables never properly cleaned; rubbish strewn outside. Staff seem to be doing their best but not enough of them.

The one thing to remember is always ask for your coffee "EXTRA HOT". Otherwise it will come out cold as they are scared you will sue if you burn yourself. Apart from that it's a nice coffees shop central to all the shops and 3 hours free parking when football isn't on otherwise it's 1 and half hours free.

Team here clearly work hard and try their best - few issues in the store with the dishwasher and other equipment meaning long Q's - really long Q's - all the time. As the only coffee shop in the park, it can be frustrating, but coffee is always good.

Flat white was rushed, poor service and not enough staff.

My friend and I were there on Monday t here only appeared to have two lads working there who were pleasant enough but there was no one clearing the tables outside. It was absolutely disgusting with rubbish on the floor, dirty tables and ashtrays even some of the seats were dirty. Clearly there was a staffing issue, very disappointing! I just wish I had taken some photos to back this up!! NOT GOOD ENOUGH COSTA!,,

Staff very abrupt I asked for our latte's to be served in glasses as we were drinking in but received them in take out cups with no explanation. Outside was littered with take out cups etc. M & S open soon so they need to get their act together.

Not really tasty coffee. I like Costa coffee but today I have hazelnut latte but it is really bad taste they probably used hazelnut syrup instead of hazelnut milk.i wouldn't go there near future.

Really this is the slowest Costa coffee I ever been 2.. The workers look like they took something .. And they work in slow motion..

All vacant tables had dirty cups and plates, no one clearing. Dirty. Staff can't hear orders with screen in front, order was wrong. Waited at till for them to 'catch up with orders' , despite only two people waiting for drinks. I now know why I haven't visited for 2 years.

Absolutely disgusting. Service slow. Environment dirty. Used trays with cups etc all over the place. The steel jug for making hot chocolate, vile looked rusty. Person serving had to ask several times what had been ordered. The work surfaces had not been wiped.

Fabulous staff and great atmosphere. I often order through the app in the week so I can take my coffee on my travels with work, today my coffee was delivered straight to me as I walked through the door! I often sit in for drinks and most of the staff know my order!
