Costa Coffee in Stevenage

As other reviewers have mentioned, it’s the friendliness of staff that keep me coming back to this branch regularly. Glad they got more outside seating now too. Never had any issues with cleanliness.

Asked for a takeaway latte and cheese toast, was given a cup, when I asked for a take away cup, the attendant looked at me like I swore at her. If you’re not happy in your profession, change it.

The staff are always friendly and polite, coffee is good, Costa is my go to for coffee, prefer Costa to anywhere else. The cakes etc always taste good.

I pointed out to a member of staff that their tea cups were dirty and she said that's how they come out of the dishwasher, I said I don't want the dirty cup. They said their is nothing they can do, never offered me a refund, I was visiting someone there and I sat down and my visitor flagged a member of staff and explained what had happened, she offered to get a clean cup, by this time the experience of visiting Costa has been ruined. I suggest people take a good look at their cutlery amd cups at this specific costa and pull them up about their dirty habits. It's not on and better customer service training is needed.

Used this Costa yesterday it's OK when you first walk in, but when you go to the seating area at the back it is absolutely filthy !!! Chairs are ripped, very stained and food dropped on. This place looks like it hasn't seen a clean in months. We hurried through our food and coffee to get out. Very disappointed and is by far the worst Costa we have ever been in. Will NOT be using here again.

I witnessed a customer being treated rudely by the barista, her name was Jem, the customer looked embarrassed, I have also experienced this Barista being rude to myself, she mocks customers to other staff which is not appropriate.

Not a nice atmosphere, average food, nice drinks and somewhat friendly staff.

Second time this week you’ve allowed me to order on just eat - taken my money then cancelled the order leaving me awaiting a refund. If you can’t complete a service stop offering it! Will be using Starbucks in future.

I visited the Costa Coffee in Stevenage Town Centre on a Saturday afternoon. As a result I was expecting it to be buzzing and it was. the staff were all working very hard to get people served, tidy tables and get rid of rubbish so I do not hold that against them. Perhaps get a few more people in to stop people having to wait for their orders? The restaurant was clean and tidy and there were no spare tables inside, only outside with the smokers.

“Never been worse”. I had stopped going to Costa as the quality of the coffee was going downhill. I was lured back by an email telling me they have improved the coffee. Indeed, on the display screens it says “Never been better: roasted for longer for a more intense flavour” no it isn’t, it has got worse. All I got was warm brown dishwater.

I have always enjoyed going to this Costa Coffee branch. The staff there are very friendly and helpful and it's clean.

Staff are always welcoming and friendly, have great suggestions on what to enjoy to suit the weather. Food is good, drinks are brilliantly made and atmosphere is always good

Pretty much every chair is stained . It feels very dirty in here . The staff are friendly so no issue there but costa need to inspect it . It's not acceptable

I struggled to find a clean area to eat, not from old cups but from the tables and chairs. All the chairs are very stained to a point you didn’t really want to sit on them, the floor was filthy and the whole place just felt dirty.

Absolutely disgrace, broken , dirty tables outside, no one bother to clean , rubbish everywhere , avoid big time.

Fantastic service. Ordered the wrong drink by mistake but Cass was so nice and gave me the drink I wanted hassle free and at no charge. She was so friendly. Thank you Cass!

So helpful and very kind staff. Helping me with little one at 9weeks, cleared area to seat.

Costa worker had a go at me for sitting at a table with no drink. I explained that my daughter who has learning disabilities had just arrived so I was just going to get them. As I went to follow him in the shop he stopped me going in the shop. He made me and another couple waited outside and was talking down at us regarding social distancing. I asked him why has he had another go at me for going in the shop after telling me off for not! I felt humiliated and at 59 years old I felt I had been told off by a parent and I felt sorry for the other couple there to witness it. So I called over to my Daughter that I'm not going to be spoken to like that and walked away disgusted

disgusting costa- the worst I’ve ever been to. Especially disappointed in one female member of staff with long dirty blonde hair can not remember her name. Believe it began with a K she was rude and spoke down to me as a customer. I requested a hot latte and she was not happy with that. Never wish to come there again will stick to costas further out. Disappointed.

we have visited here many times over the years and can understand peoples mixed reviews - however recently we think its a lot better service and friendliness - does depend on what staff are on at the time, but we continue to visit for coffee and lunch

Absolutely abysmal service waited 15 minutes in the queue (it wasn't even a long queue just sllloooowwww) when i got to the front of the queue the staff member on the till walked away to do something else without even acknowledging me (or the queue of people behind me). I waited a few minutes and after she didn't return i just left. Theres a Starbucks less than 50 metres away...why would i put up with such terrible service? 🤷‍♂️

The Location is the problem. The staff aren't like other staff in Other Costas, there is ALWAYS a queue, the quality of drink just isn't the same as others.

Came in here today to buy a drink to take away. I get to the counter. No customers waiting. There were 2 girls behind the counter. One just walks off the other blanks me and carries on riding up cups. Then some guy appears minutes later and asks what have I ordered. I reply ‘ I haven’t ordered anything. I’ve been standing here and everyone has just ignored me’. He then turns to his college and starts chatting to them. I walk out. The staff seem surprised for some weird reason! COSTA take note of the rubbish reviews in here and get some decent staff.

Thay Could give you a cup that is full so you feal that you have got whot you pay for not halfway up the cup

Been here quite a few times over the years now, it’s not my favourite Costa as it’s a little on the small side but I love the corner plot it sits on and it’s proximity to everything around, plus in the summer it’s really nice to sit outside where there is plenty of room. The coffee more importantly is always of the highest stands that one expects from Costa.

on friday 18th - i meet a family member in here - took my crossed body bag off and placed on table and took my coat off and put over chair next to me hadnt been in there long was distracted by a romanian who came over to my table plàced a large piece of paper with writeing and drawings on over my bag on the table was pointing at the paper when i went to get my purse it had gone happened so quick please dont let this happen to you some one sits outside all day sees a target calls them up they come in and before you know it purse gone please tell every one AVOID THIS PLACE IM HEART BROKEN

It was a cup of coffee, how would one rate this. However, it was not busy so the service was nice and quick. One thing I hate is having to wait for 10 mins plus then not having a seat to sit down and enjoy my coffee. But today I got a seat and enjoyed by cup of Costa coffee. In Stevenage we have lots of coffee shops so if was busy I would have gone to one where I would have got a seat. I feel sure you feel the some?

Ok Costa, atmosphere fine, not a cosy café as I would have liked, better ones around the town centre. However, lovely toasties and selection of patisseries. Hot chocolate was mediocre

This place was once the most visited place in town. People qeueing outside. That seems a lifetime ago. Team changed and it is unreal how bad this place is now. Not clean, not friendly and with attitude. You dont feel welcome anymore. Last lady serving me was chewing on her gum whilst saying "yes...?" and not even looking at me. This place wont see me ever again. I go always to costa at debenhams. They know how to let you feel well as customer

Very rude staff especially female member of staff on the till 13/12/18 at around 11.30 am. Asking for my drink extra hot was clearly too much trouble. I will definitely not use this branch ever again!

I am disappointed to write a negative review - I often find myself in Costas in various places. Here in my own home town our Costas leaves a lot to be desired. Tables and counters not clean and flies buzzing around the open cake stand was the final straw. Service is ridiculously slow - due to only a couple of staff, who bravely soldier on.Come on Costa - step it up.

Love costa, but this lot were abit slow, and not the happy atmosphere the you use to get. But at least it was clean this time

Very friendly staff - but that's not the issue I have with Costa. The music playing in the shop makes it often very hard to hear the baristas, especially with noisy coffee machines in the background as well. The pots provided for tea are incredibly easy to spill, so don't expect it your tray to stay dry! The (cute) milk pot is also terribly designed, dripping most of the milk you want to pour down the sides, onto the tray. The "mugs" for tea are impossible to hold with a single finger hole handle, and due to the shape, the tea will get cold very quickly. Other than that, can't complain!

Good parking - poor for using wifi, as there are few electric sockets available.

First time visiting this shop in well over a year. Much better than previous visits. Prompt service by very friendly staff. Excellent coffee and snacks. Will definitely be back and would recommend.

Busy and unfortunately very small shop which means there is often long waiting times, queuing almost out the door and not much available seating. Food and drink is fine just needs more space

Went into the Stevenage town store yesterday and what a delight. The staff were very nice and because it wasn’t busy they had the time to make sure my latte was made well. I will be returning any time I’m in the town

Fairly expensive coffee. But I'm telling you what you already know. Costa is typically priced the same many of the other coffee shops are. The establishment is a bit 'open' and certainly not cozy. Outside seating blocks the narrow walkway. Not really my place.

On the high street coffee always freshly made first thing in the morning not too busy
