Costa Coffee in Stevenage

Was not busy when i was there. Staff were very friendly.

One of the largest and most comfortable Costa's I've been in. Staff are friendly and the coffee is good. Not the easiest place to park near to.

I always go to this Costa and the team are always great, especially the male staff member. Very funny and polite, had a great humour about him. The one who wore diamond earrings.

The way I was spoken to by a male member of staff in Costa Stevenage old town last night was truly disgusting. I was unaware the cafe had closed as the lights were on and the door was unlocked. I entered with my 8 year old son to buy a coffee and let him use the toilet as he was desperate and there was nowhere else on the high street that we could go. As we entered the staff member yelled at us "We're closed!", I apologised and politely asked if my son could quickly use the toilet and the man again yelled "We're closed!" and then told me he has already cashed up and that "there are cameras!" - I didn't understand how this was relevant and it was very unnecessarily aggressive. I asked again if my son could please use the toilet as he was desperate and I didn't know of anywhere else I could take him; the man replied "you're son isn't my concern". Absolutely vile man. Customer service in the gutter and no ounce of empathy or of being a decent human being. I have been a regular customer for years but I will never buy from Costa again after this. This man should be fired. Note: I have seen the same man in the cafe previously speaking to other staff members like dirt. He needs to go.

The worst costa i have ever been too, workers standing around talking instead of serving the long queue. I asked for a flat white to takeaway, I ended up with coffee water flat white. No taste of coffee, Absolutely disgusting and a waste of my money. If I could give it a half a star or zero star I would. Sort your shop out.

I just wanted to say what an absolute pleasure it is to be sat in Costa this morning (forgot my office keys so had to kill half an hour) The staff here are so friendly, they seem to know everyone by name and make the time to chat and pass pleasantries with everyone who walks through the door. I am super impressed. Please visit if you are passing you will not be disappointed.

Decent enough coffee, but beware the pushy old ladies that are "entitled" to your table when you have barely stood up to put your coat on.

white americano it was awful full water. coffee. two drops of cold milk They always need to know the level of water put into the coffee. I see this as Costa Coffe's general problem.

Been a few times now and always had a fairly good experience here. It's always busy here and sometimes it can be a long wait for food and drinks but the staff are very helpful and pleasant. The atmosphere here is always busy The service is always good also. All in all a fairly decent coffee shop to visit.

Sorry to say the sandwiches were rotten. Very poor value

This is a great Costa in the lovely Stevenage Old Town. The drinks are always made perfectly, the staff are so friendly and always make you feel welcomed. The cafe is clean and tidy. They also have some outdoor tables which are nice to use in warmer weather.

Friendly staff. All very helpful and chatty. After the refurb I miss the tall seats by the window and it's a lot more noisy because of all the hard surfaces. Still a good place to meet people with nice benches outside.

Lovley place to have a break for a coffee, experienced staff that treat you Kindly. Toilets are not so clean but these is up to clients too...

Staff member told me that the shop was busy. There were 10 customers including me. 6 seated amongst dirty messy tables and 3 queuing. This was our go-to coffee place. Costa now needs to up it's game: there are new cafes on the high street where staff will bring food and drink to the table and keep things clean. Sadly not my first poor Costa experience over recent weeks.

I don't like the new system of having to order on machine with card or having to do Drive through for cash . Chicken was a bit overdone .

the service isn't the worst but there is much better in the center of Stevenage. in the center of Stevenage the girls pour a full cup of coffee and here they don't. guys pour less coffee here.

Vio manager is very lovely. . I didn't know what I wanted she was really patient. When served she had a big smile. And her other staff was fast. Thank you for the birthday cake as well

Carrot cake was nice, blueberry muffin was okaish. Coffee was average. Overall not a very bad experience.

Service was terrible. Staff were more interested in chatting to, and giving free drinks, to their friends.

Grubby and tired like many Costa these days.

Cafe latte could have tasted better

I went to Costa at the suggestion of the friend that I was meeting. I didn't know what to order, not wanting tea or coffee. In the end we settled on a red berry drink that was blitzed up with ice. It was OK but £4 was a lot for a small cup of it. On the bright side, the chap behind the bar was a great help in finding at least something on their menu that I was prepared to drink. To be honest, the place would probably better suit coffee drinkers, being a coffee shop. I forgot to take a picture, sorry. I imagine that, of you are in the game of going to coffee shops, you know the sort of thing that they are like. This one will probably meet with your expectations - and the toilet that I used was good too.

The only coffee shop in Stevenage I always feel valued and welcome at! Quality staff with the usual good quality coffee! I drive for uber so the parking in front is also very convenient

5th November 2022 update Service still very slow, almost 12 people queuing all the time with 5 waiting after my placing orders, even though they had 2 making coffee, 1 on the till. Floors still dirty, in some places sticky, as are the tables. Toilets not clean. Can getting extremely loud during busy times. Coffee standards dropped, as Christmas drink was warm, weak tasting and badly made. Cakes, only saving grace but had to ask for my cake order because it was not done till after the coffee. Had to ask for cutlery and napkins. Service, presentation and standards seriously dropped, lack of communication from till to coffee making then orders wrong or not completed. Will avoid for sometime.

It's a nice place, needs a makeover. The staff are always so polite, the food and coffee is good but the smokers out the front as you walk in, they put me off.

Lovely costa, lovely staff, but what is up with the freezing air conditioning? Today it's warm enough not to wear a jacket but it's freezing cold in here! My Fiance also said he came in a few weeks back and moved seat 3 times to try and escape the frezing air conditioning!

Good staff, but not enough. Tables weren't cleared or cleaned. Dingy atmosphere inside the restaurant. Nice in the summer to site outside on the council benches if there is space - the only positive. Sorry to be so critical.

Great location, super-easy parking right outside. The perfect place to sit and people watch over an iced coffee or for a light lunch. Excellent quality food, prepared quickly. Pleasant staff. A clean and spacious interior. An always reliably good cafe experience.

Normally I'm grabbing a coffee to go here but today we sat in for coffee and cake. Table felt a bit sticky and when I picked up the tray I could not believe how dirty the table was! Needs more than a wipe, a sanding clean would probably be more appropriate!

Really nice coffee and experience in general. Me and my girlfriend were served by Daniela who answered all our questions, gave us great recommendations and all with a smile! When my girlfriend went to the toilet I asked Daniela, after a small time observing our relationship, if she thought we had a future. Daniela then proceeded to provide me with some of the most earth shattering, ground breaking and enlightening advice I’ve ever received. I proposed to my girlfriend (NOW fiancé) later that day! Daniela is going to officiate our ceremony next June <3 We owe our happiness and future to Daniela and Old Stevanage Costa, thank you!

Consistent low staff leading to long waiting times. Just walked out after a 15 minute wait in the queue. Again.

I enjoy coming here as the staff are always lovely and ready to help any way they can. It's always a pleasant visit.

Early morning visit 7.30ish. Fast efficient and friendly.

I have just been in costa in stevenage old town and witnessed one of the staff(Portuguese lady) show amazing customer service and compassion to a blind lady in such a way as to be discreet and honest compassion from gently touching her hand to let her know she was giving her change back to guiding her to her table all without a fuss, this lady is always pleasant and make a fuss of people dogs when we have coffee here... She is a great example of humanity and makes having a costa a pleasure

Always very pleasant staff in old town Costa. Today in particular I witness the young lad serving ( I believe his name is Stu) helping a visually impaired lady. He served her at the counter, then took her hand and led her to a table and then served her drinks. Was lovely to see. Such a pleasant lad:-)

Really not a fan. Costa coffee tastes terrible, its really noisy in the shop and with the Covid screens I find it really hard to make myself heard when ordering. Much better options out there, I would avoid.

Not the best experience and the table was absolutely filthy. When my daughter cleaned it with a sanitising cloth, it was filthy. Food on the floor etc too

This Costa has recently been refurbished. Looks a lot better now . Staff are quick at doing the drinks and getting the queue down. The better one in Stevenage out of the three.

Very polite staff and nice coffee.

Not the friendliest service from the Romanian ladies, they should def learn some basic softskills. The toilet and tables inside were all very dirty and unattended. We asked for medium coffees, paid for medium coffes and got them small. When we told the ladies about the confusion they were very rude and rolled their eyes and started talking in their own language and make such a big deal about it like it was our fault. Really bad experience, put us off our coffees/cakes.

There three costas one in the new town in Stevenage one in the old town third in the roaring Meg retail park best times are 10am or 130pm 5pm onwards rest of the times it will be busy check on google search and type in costa Stevenage and you see how busy it mite be or not so busy live …. I recommend the services here and there hot chocolate and in the summer I recommend there extra cold milkshakes…

It's Costa - what more can I say .

Pre ordered as in a hurry but only one drink prepared. No explanation at pick up point. When I finally asked where my other drink was I was told no coconut milk do you want something else? Made me late for work and the coffee they'd made was really bitter. No repeat business from me.....

Service incredibly slow, probably need more than 2 staff on at busier times

Ordered a large Mocha for collection, got home to find I had an expensive Latte! How on earth can you get that wrong? Of course no answer on the phone and my only recourse is to reacted and stand in a queue which defeats the object of me pre ordering in first place!

Lockdown status: usual Costa stuff but without the seats and toilets. Went from empty to queuing down the road in the space of 10 minutes when I was there on a Sunday.

Too good to go collection, socially distanced and felt clean and safe.

Long COVID queue was to be expected, but a little disorganised behind the counter, meaning the queuing took longer.

Poor customer service. Not wearing masks whilst preparing drinks during covid. Staff seen sniffing drinks to check if drink was correct. Not aware of stock. Making drinks poorly using little or no ingredients (syrups) when unavailable.

Service slow, but the whole area was clean. Staff have two speeds, dead slow and stop
