The best restaurants in Kursaal Southend-on-Sea East of England

Had an excellent lunch today, food and service were amazing! The set menu had a great selection to choose from and will definitely be returning again soon!

Me and mum had a panini each with a tea and mocha, it was delicious. Lovely decor, great service and will be back. Also lots of space to take the pram in.

Such a lovely setting, friendly staff, good music, great selection of drinks and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to have a drink or 9 aha Loved the fact there is an indoor and outdoor section to the bar, and not too far from the high street so there is always an easy way home, definitely visit with a friend

fish cakes tasted more like scrambled egg with fish oil added, cold food, chicken very very dry, mossiman curry was mostly potatoes and soft and floury!

We had a nice time , the food was amazing. We ordered 3 langos and bubble teas. Will definitely come back again. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you we will come again !

This restaurant only opened under this name last month and appears to have a new menu etc. It was formally called II Palazzo and from the dates of the reviews below they all refer to the "previous" restaurant. Service was Ok but instead of the large dining room shown in the photos we were all packed into tables set out in the former bar area with about two feet between tables. Food was Ok

This restaurant used to be a very good place for meetings and dinner. Visited this place so many times. Recently, the management has changed, and I can't find any of the familiar staff. We ordered several items. They said the kitchen is going to close soon. Of the many , only a couple of items were of any worth to be on the table. They just fried something in the wok and served. Being a cook, I can see the basic fundamental ingredients were not added.some items were so dry that you needed water to swallow. The bill is very high for the food. My sincere suggestion to whoever read this review: " Please check your bill." I did not realise they put a service charge." Also, often, I have experienced overcharged many times. ) I was tipping them on top of the service charge. Service charge is grey area. It goes to the " management or only a small portion of it is given to the staff. Hope the food quality gets better

My wife and I attended Monti for a two course meal and found the food to be excellent. We ordered off the A La Carte menu rather than the set menu options, having calamari to start and a steak plus pizza for mains. Service from the staff was superb, especially from the manager who was monitoring all members constantly to ensure a high standard. The decor and layout was quirky and spotlessly clean. My wife and I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the manager for all the help with our reservation and being able to move it at short notice due to our son being unwell on the Saturday evening. We are truly grateful and so glad we got to experience dining in your restaurant. We will be 100% returning in the near future. Richard & Lisa Bars

Come on the week leading to Christmas, the good was delicious and high quality each guest received a Christmas cracker and it made our breakfast extra special.

Not sure about the good food reviews.. Food gave me food poisoning and diarrhoea, they food was ready within 20 minutes now freshly prepared food takes 45 minutes!!!! Gave left over expired food that made me have DIARRHOEA. Might report due to health and safety. ***Response to owners reply*** Instead of addressing my serious concerns you’re dismissing them with irrelevant comparisons to fast food chains. McDonald’s and KFC serve fried food—I didn’t order fried wings, so of course, their food will be served quicker than rice and chow mein. Your response is unprofessional. You have served leftover food from previous days. Rather than arguing, maybe focus on ensuring fresh food is served so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. It’s quite sad that as a paying customer I have received a bad response from you not even an apology.

Gorgeous meal at Fish & Wish. Four of us went ( my sister and brother-in-law visiting from Australia). My sister and I both have coeliac so we ordered a gluten free cod and chips. The owner was so knowledgable and explained they use a separate fryer. He even brought out gluten free vinegar. It’s really hard to have fish and chips when you can’t have gluten as nowhere does it gluten free so this was great for us. Photo is of the gluten free cod and chips. My husband and brother-in-law had normal cod and chips. The servings were really big and the owner was so friendly. Even though we live in London I’ll definitely go back. My sister definitely wants to visit again during her holiday! So impressed

Excellent planned party for my Partner's 65th birthday. We reserved the raised area. Staff could not have been any more attentive. Food was excellent, everyone commented. Such a good night.

Imran was very friendly and welcoming. Curry, rice and naan fresh and tasty. Mixed clientele in a comfortable space. Will return.
