Sunset Bar in Southend-on-Sea

Came with my wife and mate from Switzerland for an early evening Friday dinner. Unfortunately the reduced rate meal not available on…Friday. For starters we shared 3 crostini. My wife and I had the risotto with spinach and Sicilian sausage. It was delicious. My mate had a penne dish. We also had a couple of glasses of a nice house red. Too full for dessert. Have been here a few times now and never disappointed. Will be back

Recently visited for the lunch menu which is £15.95 two course or £19.99 three courses. It was simply fantastic we couldn’t fault it it’s such good value for money and the food is of a good quality. Many of my group had the seabass for main which was lovely apparently. It was very well presented and accompanied by spinach mash which was different. We all had 3 courses and everyone enjoyed. The service was excellent the staff are all lovely and very efficient. The wine list was varied we were happy with what we ordered. Overall this was one of the best places we have visited in ages and all of us would highly recommend it. It’s a pity they are not in Leigh on Sea as they would definitely teach many of the restaurants there a few tricks. Many thanks look forward to seeing you again soon.

My wife booked here for a pre- birthday meal for me. She had been with friends before. We were greeted and seated efficiently. A nice young server did a great job. We both went for the very good value 3 course lunch which comes with a free drink included. I had a glass of house red and my wife a Prosecco - very nice. For starters we both had Calamari- very tasty. For mains my wife had a large piece of Sea Bass and I went for a delicious homemade Lasagne. For desserts my wife had a Panna cotta and for me the cheesecake. We finished with coffee. Overall great food, service and value for money. We will return.

Really lovely food at a reasonable price. The 4 cheese pizza was a highlight. The staff were very friendly and service was prompt. Will definitely visit again! Thanks for a fabulous evening.

Was greeted by pleasent staff who took our coats and sat us at our table.. Drinks and food ordered. Didn’t have to wait long for the food to came out. Food was freshly cooked, and presented well. Very generous portion sizes and great value for money. Staff attentive and the restaurant had a nice vibe about it. We would definitely recommend and we will be going back soon. Great place for an intimate dinner or a group.

Food and service were both amazing. My husband and I visited on a Saturday night and there was a good atmosphere in the restaurant when we arrived. Service was swift with all specials being read out to us as we weren’t quite in eye-line of the board. Food came quickly and starters were delicious. The mains however were exceptional. The carbonara was the best I have had outside of Rome. It’s a dish that can be such a let down when done badly and this was phenomenal. I would return for that alone. Desserts were also very tasty. We had a bottle of Prosecco and some Irish coffees and the total bill was very reasonable considering everything we’d had. I can’t wait to return and think this will become my new favourite local restaurant

We spotted this restaurant when walking back from Southend to our Premier Inn (next to Toby Carvery) and thought we would support a local restaurant rather than the attached eating establishment. We were the first into the restaurant so were a little apprehensive but the restaurant soon filled up with both locals and tourists. The environment is very pleasing - comfortable chairs; remote controlled windows to manage the temperature etc. The staff (sorry, I didn't get our waiter's name...) were excellent. Very knowledgeable and chatty but not too intrusive - just right. I had the lobster ravioli with courgette which was exceptional and my partner had fish - the presentation of which was the likes of a very high end restaurant. The name is perhaps a little misleading, as it is a fabulous Italian restaurant that deserves your support, serving such fabulous food with such great customer service levels.

We found this place on Tripadvisor when staying for a cheeky night away in Southend - nearby Premier Inn lovely too. Lovely sea views when dining - and glad that we pre booked Well worth a revisit if you are in the area.

Love this place ,food is great ,service was excellent. Good value for money .especially if you go for the 2/3 course menu £15.99 or £24.99 with a drink included in the price, the portion size is just right for lunch times. This deal is available between 1pm -5pm . I didn't go for that. I had the swordfish, which was absolutely amazing . Great views and nice atmosphere. It's very clean too.

We celebrated a friends 80th birthday here and it was fantastic. The staff could not have accommodated our needs better and went over and above to make it so special. Superb service and excellent food. Would highly recommend.

After a great meal all 6 of us.. with friendly banter n great service.. freshly cooked meals . excellent. 2 kids 8 & 15.. Only Downside was no taxi 🚕 ( no shows) so after a considerable wait (45 mins) the owner drove us home.....
