La casetta in Southend-on-Sea

Had a wonderful meal here while visiting family, they were so welcoming to our group of 6 which included two children under 5, food was fantastic, I decided to go for the set menu Beef roast and dessert, and i was not disappointed, I highly recommend this restaurant, on our way out we spoke to someone leaving with a take away pizza and asked if they we're any good, they said they are amazing and the only pizzas they get now, so something to try next time we are visiting.

This was our 2nd visit, this time for a birthday meal. The pizza was great and reasonably priced. It was a Saturday night and very busy, the service was a bit slow but that was understandable. The staff were great. We will return at some point.

Very disapointed with the service in here. The owner or manager lady was very rude. never come back Again.

Great place lovely decor great ambience, celebrating 60th birthday. My first vist I had the fish pasta , mussels, prawns, calamari. The best I've had full of fish full of flavour. Great service very attentive, would highly recommend.

A lovely place to go ,it was my birthday present.

My friend treated me to a meal at this lovely restaurant ..What a lovely gem of a place. Staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, the house wine was good too. I pass this restaurant every day to and from work but this was my first visit. It will not be my last. It is ideal for families, friends and couples. I highly recommend.. I also got an impromptu ice cream with a candle in it. The staff not only pay attention to your food order , they pay attention to their customers. Thank you for a lovely evening

If you are looking for service at the highest class, food that’s beautifully done then look no further, this restaurant will NOT disappoint! I have got to say that I have been ordering takeaways from justeat to try and the pizza was amazing! I popped down to the restaurant today and I have got to say it’s the best meal i’ve had in a long time! I went for the monk fish wrapped in parma ham and garlic butter😍 this was absolutely stunning. Thank you to the staff for making us laugh and being so kind all nice, they really are the best in town. Thank you to all of your team for making my fathers birthday one to remember! Ibrahim is an absolute gentleman, can’t ask for a better man for the job! 👍🏼

Quaint restaurant which seemed cute inside. I can only comment on the pizza as that’s what I got, it had thick solidified cheese ontop and it was really bad because of that. Hardly any sauce either. I’m sure their pasta dishes are better.

First, but definitely not our last visit.. Had our granddaughters 18th here last night.. 31/5/22.. as soon as you walk in you get that, this is nice, feeling.. the Staff were very friendly.. not naming one because they all were... food was lovely, could not fault it.. and at a reasonable price.... looking forward to going back... Thank you....

Walk past this place regularly with our dog, the manager always says hello when we see him ,so we came Saturday evening, very welcoming, the food was lovely, nothing was to much trouble, stayed until almost closing time, thank you for a great evening.

Lovely welcome. Took our coats.table for 2. Really good food & service. A little close to the next table but we did book at the last minute !! Would recommend

Visited here with 6 family members on the evening of 29th December. The restaurant wasn't packed, but enough people to make a pleasant atmosphere. The service was very good with attentive staff but not annoyingly so. On arrival, they offered to take our coats. When looking at the menu, the waiter was knowledgeable on what specials were being offered that evening & also on the regular items on the menu. My husband had his favourite, steak & other members of our party had pasta & duck followed by various sweets all of which were cooked to perfection & delicious. We were the last ones in the restaurant & unlike some places we were not ushered out All round great place, great food & service. We will definitely visit again.

Good value fixed price menu, excellent food, friendly and efficient service. Only negative comment - greater selection of biscuits on the cheese board would have been good.

We liked the fact we didn't have to rush our food, and the staff weren't hovering about, only came when summoned.

Brilliant all round. Welcoming service and consideration given to food allergies/intolerances. The food is always of amazing quality and well presented.. Have been visiting for years and always the same...if you are nervous of eating in the restaurant they provide same quality of food as take away (which we used during lockdowns). Highly recommend.

6 dance friends enjoyed a great Christmas meal. The menu offered a wide choice suitable for friends with very different tastes. Each course was very good quality with generous portion sizes.The sauces and dressings were particularly tasty. One friend found her steak more cooked than she had hoped but her meat was quickly replaced with no quibbles. Another wanted a sauce not on the current menu and the chef prepared it specially. Service was efficient and pleasant. The meals were good value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Met with mum for lunch out. Have not seen her since before lockdown. Service was excellent, friendly and attention to detail superb. The food was extremely tasty and plentiful. It was also very good value. Would highly recommend and will go there again

I ate here recently with family on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was nonetheless efficient and the staff were friendly. There's a good range of Italian dishes on the menu, prices are reasonable and the food is very quality. I would certainly eat here again.

Two years ago, I wrote a review of this restaurant, giving it 5 stars. It is now generous to give it one star. Our lunch yesterday was appalling. We both had a starter and a main course and the problem with all four plates was that they were all tasteless and overcooked. My main course of veal escalope had so little meat in it that it was almost crispy. I feel that there may be new owners who have let the place drift, but, in any event, we won't be returning.

My friends and I somewhat stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant after a puppy yoga session. The food was phenomenal, beaten only, perhaps, by the service. We were served by a lovely waitress named Cornelia who was all around fantastic - very kind, efficient, and helpful. CAN’T WAIT TO COME BACK!

Was passing through Leigh-On-Sea and took a chance on this restaurant. La Casetta is hands down the best Italian food I've had in the UK! I had the spaghetti carbonara and tried the chef's special of smoked salmon pancakes, and they were both amazing! On top of that the desserts were unbelievably delicious. Thank you so much to our server Cornelia, we had a wonderful meal!

We chanced upon this place and I have to say that my friends and I were pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. This little restaurant served one of the best garlic bread, pasta and smoked salmon pancakes. We also got a mix of desserts: Tiramisu, Banoffee Pie, Fragola E Cioccolato Bianco and Tartufo Di Cioccolato and each one of them were perfection in their own way Cornelia and the other waitress were very friendly and made sure that we were well accommodated. Highly recommend this place - Essex’s own little Rome.

I've lived in the UK 7+ years, and eaten at plenty of restaurants and takeaways. This is definitely the best restaurant I can remember eating at in the UK. Wonderful food that's expertly prepared, and attentive and accommodating service. Thanks so much Cornelia!

This was our second visit to La Casetta but the first with our 2 grandchildren aged 11 & 8. The staff were attentive, polite and very welcoming, giving an overall impression of a very relaxed, well run family restaurant. The food was very good. Our starters, Insalta Caprese. Gamberoni Piccanti were excellent, the piccanti sauce especially so. Our mains, spaghetti bolognese, salmon and pizzas were of a similar standard. The children rated the Pizzas as the best they’d ever eaten

Really lovely place. I go here alot which my 2 children and they are really accommodating. I am also quite a fussy eater and they always slightly change a dish for me to my preferred taste. And the coffee is balisimo.

My first time here and will certainly be coming back. My new favourite restaurant. Friendly attentive staff and an amazing menu. Don't go here if you're trying to lose weight.

We wanted somewhere to take our grandchildren (12 & 9) for lunch, our daughter suggested La Cassetta. I'm glad she did. A lovely place with friendly staff serving excellent food at a reasonable price.. We are looking forward to being able to go there again.

Absolutely disgusting.undercooked pizza, raw onion on garlic bread to sour to eat. Chips soggy and limp everything was cold.

Love the sea bass in a lemon sauce, staff are lovely and friendly adding a personal touch.

We went as a last minute choice considering all we can do is outdoor dine. Yet the food was amazing and the service cannot be flawed as everyone was very accommodating and friendly. Covid restrictions were abided by and it’s now a new favourite in Leigh. Thank you for having us and can’t wait to come back soon.

I have been to this restaurant quite e few times, but have been unable to do this during lockdown. But last Sunday..21st March.. my youngest son arranged a birthday dinner for me on a ‘take out ‘ basis. The service was excellent, efficient, friendly and very speedy. The food was sooo good. I admit that I didn’t expect the ‘take out’ bit to be great...but it really was. The food was absolutely delicious, the four of us had garlic bread, starters and main courses. I had salmon and the portions were so generous. The meal was beautifully cooked and was great value too. Highly recommend.

We have eaten here more than once. The food is first class The service is equally as good . We have never been disappointed. 5 stars all the way .

Second time to eat here and it was OK. I had Sardines to begin, they were cooked fine but in all honesty given the amount of meat you get off each fish I could have probably done with 3 rather than 2. It was unfortunate that one of our fellow diners found a very long hair in their starter, the food was removed and replaced and the starter was removed from the bill. My main was Pork with a Madeira sauce, it was OK but for my taste under seasoned and a little bland, accompanying saute were nice, I just wish restaurants in general would serve something a bit more interesting than broccoli and carrots with a main, so boring and predictable! I noticed the people on the table next to us had Pizza which looked very good, if I were to return I would probably give one a try!

Booked on the same day and was lucky to get a table probably because of the eat out scheme. Was seated outside which was perfect as it was a humid evening. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the wine was chilled to perfection and all three meals were very good. The lamb was lovely and tender and my steak was faultless, all washed down with an espresso martini or three!! Can’t wait to return to try many more dishes on their extensive menu.
