The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Kursaal Southend-on-Sea East of England

This restaurant used to be a very good place for meetings and dinner. Visited this place so many times. Recently, the management has changed, and I can't find any of the familiar staff. We ordered several items. They said the kitchen is going to close soon. Of the many , only a couple of items were of any worth to be on the table. They just fried something in the wok and served. Being a cook, I can see the basic fundamental ingredients were not added.some items were so dry that you needed water to swallow. The bill is very high for the food. My sincere suggestion to whoever read this review: " Please check your bill." I did not realise they put a service charge." Also, often, I have experienced overcharged many times. ) I was tipping them on top of the service charge. Service charge is grey area. It goes to the " management or only a small portion of it is given to the staff. Hope the food quality gets better

Yesterday, I went in to order some food because the line was engaged for over half an hour (no problem, because I understand that they would get busy). When I went into order, the woman at the council kept on answering the Phone and serving customers that came in after me (at least 10) and not even telling me how long she’ll be. I ended up leaving because I’m not going to be disrespected like that. Terrible customer service as they are just so rude! I’m a regular customer, but I will not be going again

Amazing food ,please try,Hot food,lovely boxes ,value for money,found this place doing a Google search,instead of meat or fish they have Tofu.highly recommend

Used to be a regular of this place years ago so thought we'd try them again. Service was good. They were obviously busy. Food arrived speedy, price was ok. However, the food was rather bland. Chicken balls a bit tasteless, sour sauce was just ok, slightly jellified. I have crispy chilli beef which isn't always done great, it was kind of hollow as if done in old oil, not very spicy either. Chicken chow mein was fine but it's hard to mess that up. Not bad, just a bit disappointing. I would say it's one of the mediocre options in the area.

Absolutely gorgeous food, best vegetarian & vegan food my daughter & I have ever tasted! Outstanding service from all the lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend & we will be back again very soon.

Best Chinese takeout round here and I live local the food is never disappointing and the service always comes with a smile so just give it go even if your visiting
