Hong Kong Kitchen in Southend-on-Sea

Has been my go-to Chinese take-away for over 15 years and now they refuse to deliver to my address... I’m only 3.1 miles away. I’m glad they can afford to turn business down. I’m happy to order elsewhere and certainly won’t be recommending them anymore.

Glad we tried Hong-Kong Kitchen. We checked the reviews 1st and the kitchen cleanliness rated 5***** by the council after falling ill at another local restraunt on Christmas eve. We just wanted plain and simple for a change, so chose omelette and chips. He picked meat with prawn and I chose mushroom. Both were cooked beautifully (not to oily) with added peas and onion. Each omelette came with a reasonable size portion of hot ungreasy chips. The shop did not smell of old burnt fat and the lady at the counter greeted us with a warm smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and will stick with this kitchen from now on.

Got recommended this Chinese and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely food, chicken satay, beef in black bean, vegetable chow mien usual stuff. All very tasty and will be going back.

First time I’ve ordered from this Chinese restaurant, the food tasted absolutely lovely and the portions were so big. Don’t worry if you don’t have cash they take the payment over the phone for you definitely recommend.

The food is great, no question, but because nobody speaks English except front of house, it's hard work. Ordered a chow mein and a soup, that's all. Beware the big delivery orders take precedent.

This is by far the friendliest and best value takeaway in Southend. The food is always fresh and great tasting. It's also reasonably priced. The lady behind the counter is really nice and friendly even taking time to explain chinese new year to my son. Highly recommended.

Been coming here for a few months now, great menu choices and the food is always hot and fresh. The staff are helpful and friendly. It's a bonus that it's close to where I live.

Food is amazing there! Tasty and Yummmm I have been to a lot Chinese take away but this is one of the best I ever have. Highly recommend, I will defo return soon.
