The best restaurants in Chigwell Village Epping Forest East of England

It’s a nice little restaurant very cosy and serves good food nice place to go for dinner my family all enjoyed it

We used to visit this resturant all of the time whilst under previous owner Alfio . Sadly since he retired the food quality and ambiance is not the same . Gradually it has gone down hill . In an authentic little place like this fresh food is a must . It appeared that the prawns had been frozen and were tasteless , the pizza dry and nothing anybody had was as good as it used to be . Maybe it was a bad night in the kitchen , but at the price you pay you expect better . Sadly we won't return .

Lovely venue but too far to go regularly. Its out in the middle of nowhere. Cab's sat nav did not go straight to venue which it showed it had reached the destination! Awkward to find. Staff at venue were quick serving & very polite & friendly. Great for private parties, which I was at. Drinks not cheap either.

Decent little boozer. Foods ok. Service is not quite the same since Antonella left but never-the-less it's nice enough sitting outside on a sunny day. Go to the bar for service now-a-days, which is no stress but it's changed so don't sit there like a mug waiting like I did. I've seen famous people here before so if that's your thing give it a go. One time we saw a rapper whose name I can't remember but my far younger colleague recognised him and stated "that guy got me through uni". I pointed out that he had failed uni. * Neither rapper nor colleague is in the attached photo.

Sheesh is incredible … I have never had a bad meal here and the staff are very attentive and know their wines and all the food dishes so well. Thank you for my birthday memory we will all be back xx

Our family went to the William for Sunday lunch. The food (particularly the pork belly) was high quality and we had excellent service from Alen.

Pore. Couldn’t even get a Kebab roll right. Wrong meet very basic salad and naan bread swimming in sauce.

Haddock, scampi and chips takeaway all very tasty. Huge piece of haddock and a very generous portion of chips which can easily serve two. Friendly service. I've had better fish and chips elsewhere around the country for less but absolutely no complaints.

We chose the 3 courses for £50 deal and my goodness, it was absolutely beautiful, the pastry cheese filled starters and dips were so good! Then on to our main, I had the chicken sheesh and my partner the beef, the meat was cooked to perfection, and the salad, well, we really diddnt know where to start, there was so much colour and vibrancy! Everything from start to finish was beautiful. I also pre warned it was my partners birthday, and they came out with our desert, singing happy birthday, with a delicious chocolate desert with a firework on! The only negative I would say, was the price of the drinks, they were on the dearer side, I’d say, centre of London prices, which really bumped our bill up, which was a little disappointing, and a bit of a shock once we got the bill, but everything else was truly amazing.

We had a wonderful lunch to celebrate our mums 92nd birthday. The food and service superb. Nothing was too much trouble and we were not rushed. We would thoroughly recommend Papillon excellent!

Best minestrone soup in the world! Been coming here for years. Always a guaranteed great meal. Lovely venue, lovely staff, lovely food, reasonable prices. Thanks Nino

When going for one of our walks we always try and end near this lovely Deli in Chigwell. Normally a coffee, which are excellent and although we try not too, we always succumb to one of the pastries or cakes which are sublime! Everyone working here are so welcoming and friendly. There is seating inside and outside and everywhere is absolutely spotless, as soon as a table is empty it is cleaned ready for the next lucky customer. What disgrace out with friends, group of guys started fighting, no security staff, evening ended abruptly with police being called..

We had a really nice evening celebrating my sister's birthday. The staff and service were outstanding. Helpful amd attentive. The food was spot on. Big portions and delicious. Would recommend and wi definitely go back.
