Domino's Pizza - Chigwell in Epping Forest

We visited the restaurant for the first time but probably last time as well. Very average food. Calamari were like rubber. Pizza overcooked. And smoking smell coming from kitchen didn't make the experience very pleasant. The only food we actually enjoyed were fried prawns .. Big dissapointment

My husband and I booked an early dinner at Papillon. Staff were very friendly. The restaurant was clean and seating comfortable. Lovely Italian music playing in the background (not loud). We ordered the chicken escalope with spaghetti bolognese and chicken with mushrooms in cream sauce. The food was served hot and absolutely delicious. Good portions and value for money. A lovely atmosphere and would highly recommend.

Good place with great pasta portions and tasty. Good service all around. The pizza is ok but for an electric oven it's quite good. Definitely I will come back for another pasta👌🏻.

Went there for my sister's birthday. There were seven of us and we had 4 calves livers, 1 Veal Escalope, 1 lamb cutlets, 1 spagbol all served with beautiful veg. The traditional Happy Birthday was sung and then we all had delicious 🍨 desserts 🥧 🎂 Great food, great service, easy to park. Definitely recommend xxx

Recently celebrated my 60th birthday. Food and service was great , and enjoyed some dancing after the meal. Great night out .

I recently visited and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing due to their poor service. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that the staff was not very attentive or friendly. Firstly, it took a long time for someone to even acknowledge my presence and seat me at a table. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and unenthusiastic about their job. Once I was seated, it took another 15 minutes for someone to come take my order. I had to wave down a passing server just to get their attention. To make matters worse, my food took over 45 minutes to arrive and when it finally did, it was cold and not cooked properly. When I asked for it to be reheated, the server seemed annoyed and took it back to the kitchen without even apologizing. By the time my food came back, my appetite was completely ruined. Throughout my meal, my server rarely checked on me and seemed more focused on chatting with their coworkers. I had to ask for a refill on my drink multiple times before actually receiving it. When it was time to pay, I had to wait another 20 minutes for someone to bring me the bill. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was also quite chaotic and unorganized. I could see other customers getting frustrated with the slow service and some even left without finishing their meals. What a horrible experience - you could not pay me to go back!

This was my second visit to the restaurant after its refurbishment, and the fresh new look was quite appealing. Surprisingly, despite its popularity in the neighborhood, it wasn't very busy during my visit. I was there with friends and we had a lovely time catching up. The host was gracious, allowing us to enjoy our evening without feeling rushed. We sampled a variety of food and drinks, but unfortunately, the quality of the dishes didn't meet my expectations. The tempura prawns seemed frozen, lacking freshness, while the carpaccio was warm and under-seasoned. The presentation of the parmigiana could have been better. The main courses were equally disappointing: the monkfish was excessively salty and overcooked, the spaghetti bolognese sauce was heavy, and the chicken was burnt on the outside. The lamb chops were decent, but not exceptional. Dessert was passable, although it could have been more artfully presented. On a positive note, the hospitality was delightful, and the host added to the enjoyment of the evening.

Great staff and usual good PE food. Good for kids too

Not impressed at all. Booked a table for 5 girl friends for our Christmas get together in October for mid December. When we turned up the waiters barely acknowledged us, after speaking with him to say we have a table booked they said it’s not ready do you want to get a drink. We replied no because there wasn’t actually any space to sit and have a drink there and we had just come from the pub opposite. We said we would wait on the side until table was ready. After feeling quite in the way for 5 minutes we asked how long they thought the table was going to be and the waiter replied saying they can’t say. We then obviously said we were going to leave and try to find somewhere else to eat to which they appeared to not care that much and was happy to see us out. Considering we booked the table so far in advance this was really poor customer service. And the way they spoke to us and just dismissed us when we enquired how long it would be is just not on at all.

Great place, went there for a Birthday meal, and it was fantastic, gorgeous food, live music and dancing all night long , great evening.

I don’t think this branch take good hygiene too seriously, there were hairs in the food. Still awaiting communication from them, have not yet been refunded.

The food was so bad , my family went to celebrate a birthday so we did not want to complain at the end, I did send mine back as was revolting, over priced and was freezing as had to ask to have the heating on,

Lovely food, slightly pricey but definitely worth it. Such friendly staff and a lovely cosy atmosphere. You don't feel like you're down brook parade!

Can't beat this place. I come here throughout the year as you know what you're going to get. Food is delicious, and the staff are brilliant. Recommend.

Hadn’t been for a while at least 3 years - prior pre COVID and recently visited and was very disappointed - extremely pricey now and working out around £50 a head - service slow -food not great and obviously from what I had was not cooked fresh just pre heated! unusually quiet for a Saturday night! Says it all - will not be going back

I am literally so lazy about writing reviews but, this place totally earned it! We arrived 15 mins before they opened and I completely expected them to say “sorry we’re not open yet”. Not in the slightest. The gentleman who served us was so accommodating. Really kind. My husband and I are both American and we have found that we very rately like pizza crust here. We find it to be dry and crackery. But this place makes an amazing crust! Thin but soft. Absolutely Devine! All in all a great restaurant in terms of service and quality of food. Happy customers who will definitely be ordering from their new favorite local Italian restaurant.

Nice little place, very clean and that's all. Unfortunately, the service is very poor. I tried to call the waiter couple of times, but he pretended to no hear me. As a starter, I had a very good plate of Calamari and enjoyed but as the main, I ordered a Margherita, no word of a lie was terrible. The amount of cheese and oil on it was unbelievable. I had two pieces and after that, I started to feel sick so I couldn't eat anymore. Price was reasonable for what we had. I suggest improving more on pizzas and especially on employees. At moment, unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. Sorry.

Sadly food was not as good as previous times, especially the desert. It was like it was slapped on a plate, and the plate was freezing cold. Also, had to ask many times for our desert and bill to the brought to the table. Sadly very disappointing as it was a 60th celebration.

Starters were nice (mussels and calamari). Main course of prawns; the veg was dumped on the plate, you could tell it had been cooked for a second time. Other main course of fillet steak which was £40; asked for medium/well but was over cooked, veg dumped again. Other tables had veg served in terrines but could tell they were regular customers. To top it off - the same songs were played around 4 times in the space of 90 minutes and a group came in with their 2 dogs. Total bill for 2 of us was £105. Would rather have donated the money to charity...

The food was just amazing! Really good value, wine reasonably priced and not bad service. Doesn’t have much ‘kerb appeal’, but would definitely recommend! There was a little confusion over our drinks order, but it was soon sorted out. I would definitely go back.

Was there for a special birthday lunch and although the restaurant was very busy. The staff were amazing and so tentative to our needs...food was amazing. I had the seabass which was cooked beautifully and I would definitely recommend the apple pie with ice cream which was a delight 😊 will definitely be returning 😋 😊

We always order from Papillon. Honestly, they are the best Italian and we would not dream fo going anywhere else. Very nice people, authentic and kind. Food is delicious. We have vegetarians, meat eaters, pescatarians and kids in the family, and you can really get everything from here. Everyone is happy. We have ordered quite large orders for birthday and they always give free bread, something extra and a bottle of wine thrown in. Honestly, just good, honest, hearty Italian food (with great portions) ❤️ We now order in advance over text to make sure we can get what we like as we are late eaters 😁❤️

Fantastic Restaurant, had a take away and although arrived at 21.30pm to order nothing was a problem, staff helpfull and very friendly and food was amazing.

Just ordered 2 roast dinners for Sunday lunch. One veggie which the owner said would be a full roast without the meat. Picked it up was a few peppers and aubergine for my wife, and just meat for me, no potatoes, Yorkies or veg!!!!Returned the food to show them, the owner went berserk, screaming and shouting.. he said I was rude.. I was displeased yes was I wasn’t rude, I was simply showing him the food I’d received for 2 people. Never again..

Tasteless pizza. I was expecting more from this restaurant. However, the tomato sauce was tasteless and the pizza dough looked pretty bad made. Also, they don't really use good cheese and you cannot have buffalo mozzarella nor extra toppings when ordering for delivery

Food was very average, sadly service was also quite lacking, briefly jovial then largely ignored. Our final drinks order did not come so we paid and left. Positives however, good use of face coverings and social distancing, also very clean and well maintained

Staff very rude! We were four people and only two of us wanted to order food and we got nasty looks from the waitress (I'm guessing owner) and she said that this is a restaurant not a pub and that we should all eat not just order drinks...this was when the place was almost empty, now I get why...plus the food wasn't very good. Never going back

Came to this delightful family run restaurant for my mother’s 80th birthday celebration and from start to finish the evening was first class ! The owner is very welcoming and went out of his way to make sure our party of 15 guests had a great time . Great atmosphere , excellent food and good staff make for a 5 Star rating which is fully deserved !! Highly Recommended

Food was excellent but must say the service could of been a bit more organised but it was a full house.

Literally eaten better Italian ready meals from Lidl, Aldi, Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's. It is so awful I can't explain how am italian restaurant can't even make ok tasting Italian food, it was so bland its untrue. The fried brie (Italian?) Had a crust so thick it was like a basketball coating fried to within an inch of its life, vomit worthy, you get the picture the rest of the food was as awful. They then overcharged us by an obscene amount, circa £400 in bottles of wine and long drinks as it was a large table of a lot of drunk people except myself who watched the amount of bottles consumed and long drinks and then saw the bill, however everyone else wanted to leave it as they were all drunk etc. They are basically crooks who just see a drunk party and add whatever they want to the bill to top it up. Avoid this place like the plague, oh and waiters with breath so bad while your eating, nice!

Very nice and good restaurant, recommend, the reason I gave 4 star is because when we booked s day beforehand we asked if there are any party group and was told no. The noise with the birthday party was too loud.
