Possibly the worst Thai curry I have had the misfortune to eat, it was uneatable, the chicken was hard and not fresh , the rice was hard, the curry was watery, Will not order from them again, avoid.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE THEY DELIVERED ME RAW PRAWNS!! I have just already eaten one now before I noticed they were raw I will get food poising! Do not order from this restaurant i will be reporting this Take away to Food Standards Agency

Awful. I regret not reading reviews prior to placing an order. Food was disgusting and most of it went in the bin, it actually made me feel ill. What was meant to be meat was a chewy substance with too much sauce. All dishes were revolting. Poor value. Took far too long to arrive too. Will never order from here again. Lesson learned!

Worst take away I've ever had. Food was tasteless and oily. Chicken was boiled and completely bland...beared no resemblance to stir fry. Total waste of money - Avoid.

Amazing service! Preordered our takeaway the day before as we had 8 guests, one who was a vegan. Paya were extremely professional over the phone and catered for all needs. They phoned us the following morning to confirm our order and even included some complimentary dishes. Excellent food, great price and service was the best we have ever ordered from. We will 100% be ordering from them again and will be recommending to our local friends! Thanks Paya :)

Absolutely terrible meal from here. Ordered 1/2 crispy duck barely enough meat to fill half the amount of pancakes. Spring onion was old and dry, cucumber was like mush and inedible. Satay chicken skewers were a couple of dry shrivelled chicken pieces on a stick. Chilli beef, rice and chicken chow mein were edible hence the one star. WILL NOT ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN

Probably the worst pad thai I have ever had. Would never oder again. Infact I think you should take it off your menu because you haven't got clue.

Recently moved into the area and been on the hunt for a good quality Chinese and we have finally found it, came across Paya via Just Eat and really impressed with the food and service.

Probably the worst Chinese I've had the displeasure of eating. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I am embarrassed that I spent near enough £50 to treat my family and I got this dog slop with dishes missing. Its so bad I ain't even gonna bother calling to ask for the missing dish. ZERO OUT OF TEN.

Ordered the crispy lamb pancake and all I got was skin. Skin and fat - there was literally no meat. And it was definitely not enough for 6 pancakes anyway they filled 3/4 of the container with salad? I couldn't even call and tell them to send another because their phone line has all other 12 branches as options - A joke of a place. never again.

Ordered from them for my family today and was horribly disappointed. The lamb in our order of the lamb pancake had no meat, only crisped skin and fat with no flavour. And there wasn't even enough meat for 6 pancakes; instead they filled up half the container with iceberg lettuce. A simple order of broccoli in oyster sauce was overcooked and tasted like it'd been steamed in dirty sink water rather than oyster sauce. Thankfully, the chow mein and vermicelli were ok.

Ordered at 8.15pm... delivery was supposed to be 9.15pm.... it’s now 10.23pm and I am still waiting. Contacted just eat who I ordered through to be told that my order had been delivered!!!! It has not arrived. Never again ! Also the restaurant decided to not take any of my calls and put my calls to voicemail!! I used to order from here every single week! DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND WHEN YOU CALL THEM TO ASK WHAT HAPPENED THE RUDE WOMAN ON THE PHONE SCREAMS AT YOU ON THE PHONE. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!

RIP OFF . OVER PRICED . SAME FROZEN RUBISH YOU GET IN MOST CHINESE. BUT WITH LESS MEAT AND PRAWNS . AVOID AT ALL COST

Usually like it but it's been hit and miss for a while now. Tastes different everytime, wonder if the foods even from a paya restaurant ?

I used to love their food. Not sure whether they’ve changed their staff but the last time which was 2 weeks ago we ordered food from them and it just wasn’t the same. The portions shrank, the prices went up and one of the dishes delivered was’t what we ordered. All in all, I won’t be using them in a hurry and try other Chinese take aways in the area. Very disappointing

VERY disappointed with the 2 Pad Thai's we've just ordered. It was more like vegetarian spaghetti - absolutely NOTHING like Pad Thai at all. I will not be ordering from or going to eat at this Thai Restaurant again unless this improves and will recommend others to go to the Thai in Hoddeston instead (which I know does a great one!). Shame because Waltham Abbey is not so far.

Ordered via just eat. Order delayed by an hour. When eventually arrived it was completely wrong. 2 unknown dishes arrived out of 4 placed. When queried with driver he got rude an abusive! Will never use again.

I had some very tasty dishes from here but on the last occasion I ordered from Paya Waltham Abbey, I added some coconut cream as there was too much chilli, this uncovered some of the tofu when the sauce thinned and it was all very mouldy underneath. I doubt I could ever trust food from here again :(

Order came 2 hours late.. and after 3 calls and being told its on it way, they then called me to say they delivered it to the wrong address. The address they delivered to actually came and delivered to me.. i threw the food in the bin as im not going to eat it after its been into a rondom persons house.. and asked just eat for a refund.

Food take over 1 hour 30 mins to be delivered and of course it came cold. And also very expensive

Overall bad experience with delivery. Very late, very expensive for the poor quality of food. Tom yum with little taste. A lazy pad Thai with full onions and peanuts and little taste, massaman that was so sweet with a soup consistency I couldn’t make it past a few bites.

Portions getting smaller and smaller in spite of being very expensive. Tastes good but not enough meat and sauce thin. On the back of their menu it says "All our dishes are served in large containers" but was barely half full on the meat dishes. Chicken soup was a joke, it was dark brown not golden and didn't taste like chicken soup at all, it tasted like won ton soup base mix powder with soy sauce, no garnish either. Had to wait One & a half hours for delivery and was still hungry after meal. Feel ripped off!

ordered mix starters and definitely not worth...pork ribs with hardly any meat on and one was just bone, other mixed starters greasy!! tucking into our mains and they got those wrong! shocking service will not use again....avoid at all costs....

Absolutely shocking we ordered Waite diver an hour for the food to arrive....... AND WE TUCK IN AND THERES A MAGGOT IN OUR FOOD. To top it off they wouldn’t send a driver out to collect and refund so we had to drive all the way to them! DO NOT BUY ORDER ANYTHING FROM THERE.

Not sure why so many negative reviews? Then again people usually on bother reviewing something when they are annoyed. Yes its abit more pricey, but its worth it?! I have OCD with food and im very cautious of where I order from. I ALWAYS use this place when I want a Chinese. Lovely food every time. Thanks Paya!

I don't know about the others, but the Waltham Abbey branch is vile. The food is undercooked and rubbery. The sauces are as thin as water. I could only stomach one fork-full of my order before throwing it all in the bin. Not to mention - the food that arrived absolutely STANK! Please don't waste your money.

Placed my order and was told an hour at least but came in just over 30 mins. Food was good but not enough chilli and the delivery guy was impatient . Otherwise it was a very good service . Highly recommended ⭐

The soft crab dish was unreal! I love my local Chinese!

Sauces were basically water and the chicken balls were just uncooked batter with dry chicken.

Ordered on a Saturday night and got told order was cancelled so forgot all about it. Woke up on Sunday to our delivery driver ordering our food. Spoke to the manager and he was very understanding, gave us the food free of charge!

Terrible. Ordered a beef dish got a prawn dish coconut rice was bad just gloopy boiled rice with dessicated coconut on top had to return it,avoid,spend your money elsewhere.

Very Hit and Miss, more Miss. considering the High Prices with Delivery changer added you think this would be a slicker operation, sadly not! Not going to be using again. Ordering via app great, Estimated Delivery times pure fabrication. Voice mail if you phone the restaurant to chase, food so so, nothing amazing considering the price.

Worst experience. Second time ordering from my local. Thought I would give it another chance. Poor quality food. Satay sauce was cold and jelly like. Asked for a vegetarian dish and they put meat in it. Second time they have done this, which I find ridiculous. Food tasteless. Avoid.

How do I stop them sending me text messages? As far as I'm aware I've never ordered from them or eaten there. Replying to the message just gets me a response that it isn't a valid address. Their website tells me I have to register to go on their 'do not spam' list - I'm not that stupid! Isn't this supposed to be illegal now?

BEWARE!!! Worst service ever! The shop never answered their phone and when ordering online it took their system 23 minute to refuse my order! There are many other delivery companies out there for a good meal. Don’t waste your time with this one!!!

I've only ever left positive reviews on Google, I feel saddened to leave a NASTY review, but this was APPALLING...absolutely appalling! AVOID THIS PLACE!!! No other words for it! My wife ordered a vegetarian tofu meal and it turned up with bits of chicken in it! My wife had to make an alternative meal yesterday evening. We called and asked them how this could have happened, they simply said "sorry it was a mistake". After 5 minutes of explaining to the incompetent manager and staff that vegetarians don't eat chicken said they would send a driver to give us a refund. 24 hours later no sign of a driver and no refund. Calling to chase them, the Manager Imran said that they are and I quote : "ashamed to even send a driver to us for a £6 refund" I was absolutely shocked to hear this and again they showed no remorse nor even an ounce of understanding that they had done something wrong here and showed no willingness to retain our custom or provide a gesture of goodwill to compensate for this! Disappointed that a franchise can operate this way!! The franchise owners should be made aware that their brand is being pulled into disrepute! Imran even said: "please don't order from us again if you're not happy with this" AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

The branch in Chingford is very slow, if they tell you 20 minutes you may end up waiting for another hour!!!!!!!!!!

This place is amazing the food was amazing too I had a Thai main dish and it was lovely crispy noodles were perfect and the delivery time was very good only took about 25 mins to come so I highly recommend it here.

Greedy people £2.00 delivery charge...my order was £32 and they wanna charge more for delivery 2 mins up the road....then they want 50p more to pay by card!!! Liberty. Website says free delivery over £15!!! False advertising at very least ....very disappointed

Food was nice but when you give instructions from the driver they do not acknowledge them. Not realistic with their delivery times either

Food was really bad. Over cooked and rubbery. One dish advertised as containing braised fish fillet turned up with breaded fish balls and the tofu was soaked in oil and really chewy urgh!

Average wait time 1.5 hrs. Not worth it. Go elsewhere

Called to cancel an item on my order, and was still charged upon delivery for the item, which was not included upon delivery. Brought the total up to over £20 for 3 items.

1 dish missing on arrival, offered credit for the next meal, but I said I would rather have my money back. I was then assured that would happen, but two weeks later, it still hasn't, despite several phone calls. At this point they have essentially stolen from us. Do not order from here.

SOOO SLOW AND VERY AVERAGE FOOD - ordered a delivery last night - it was supposed to take 40-1hr - was still waiting after an 1 hr 25 mins!!!! Food was just about warm and not the best. When I called to complain they just said we would get a discount off our next order !?!?! I think they will be waiting a while for that ..........................

We have been regular users of Paya both via just-eat and directly, This order was messed up. I had reported 1 dish missing. Had to call again to chase, Franchisee didn't care, said "was very busy" not interested in customer service. After an hour and a half it was too late. With only 1 star (out of 5) from "scores on the doors" no wonder. !! keep well away from this lot,

Fantastic Chinese Take Away, the food excels others in the area and the staff are great, Definately a 5⭐ meal every time.

The food was ok. But the prices are extortionate no where near worth the money £57 for 3 meals !!!. Had from other take aways that were cheaper and tasted a lot better. Never use again again

This has honestly got to be the best Chinese Takeaway in the whole area. PAYA doesn't compare with the other local shops. I have ordered about 5 or 6 times now and I have to say, the food is made to bliss perfection! And their delivery times are spot on! Will definitley be ordering again and recommending to others.
