The best restaurants in Hertford Bengeo East Hertfordshire East of England

I've worked with Tig at various street food events. He's a lovely bloke but more importantly his food is a staple for me at food events never let down, always fresh good portions sizes. Amazing!

So we decided to take advantage of the Father's Day Paella and Champagne special deal on Groupon and what a great deal it was. Eavesy's plaice has a very chilled vibe almost like just hanging out in your own back garden. The outdoor bar and kitchen are great and it was a pleasure to watch chef Jamie at work cooking up a banging paella whilst the co owner Sarah always made sure your champagne glass was never empty. The children's entertainment zone was amazing with the big screen playing number blocks and other cbeebies classics whilst being supplied with an endless feast of fruit kebabs and rocket lollies. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back

I have been here countless times and it continues to impress. Really highly recommend a visit. My absolute favourite food in Hertford, great atmosphere in a quirky restaurant and the staff are really nice and helpful too!

Good beer. A bit expensive. Uncomfortable if it gets really busy.

The mushroom starter was pleasant and the soup was fine. The Xmas dinner was disappointing. Not much of it - sliced parsnips and carrots very meagre. The gravy was very salty. The beef rib gravy was also salty. Cheesecake was so sweet none of the party wanted it. A service charge automaticity added though I’ve since read it is voluntary. Last years Xmas meal was delicious, that’s why we returned. This year, sorry, not so much.

I ordered from here a few months back and didn't post a review until the 2nd time which was an exact repeat of the 1st lacklustre meal. On the plus side: They were happy to cater for a long list of allergies. Keema naan was very tasty (though on the cold side). The negatives: food arrived luke warm and this is the 2nd time that I noted the curry massively lacked taste..bhuna is meant to be very flavoursome due to the reduction of the masala. It just wasn't on both occasions. Was hopeful for the chana masala. Same lack of flavour. All dishes including dansak lacked any salt. Seems like the masala might not have been cooked long enough to let the spices really come through. Even the onion in the chana masala was not well cooked. I have no idea if this is a takeaway only problem but I won't be ordering from here again.

My wife and I regularly eat here for Fish chips etc on a Tuesday or Wednesday which is excellent and great value. We decided with a friend to try the Sunday lunch and seen mixed reviews. Not only the White Lion has the best Fish and chips but the best Sunday lunch it was wonderful and truly delicious I have to give it 11/10. Will we be going back it a YES from us. Loved it ++×

this is a great spot for bubble tea and i highly recomend it since their is a range if bubbles and flaviurs i could chise from.

The food was excellent and also the staff l, especially Austin, who is managing. Good old school managing for such a young man, obviously well taught by the owners Adam and Karen

Lovely and beautiful place, but mulled wine is an absolute slap in the face. It is just a hot juice with some orange scent. £7.50 per glass. Quite disrespectful to a customer.
