The best restaurants in Hertford Bengeo East Hertfordshire East of England

I've worked with Tig at various street food events. He's a lovely bloke but more importantly his food is a staple for me at food events never let down, always fresh good portions sizes. Amazing!

So we decided to take advantage of the Father's Day Paella and Champagne special deal on Groupon and what a great deal it was. Eavesy's plaice has a very chilled vibe almost like just hanging out in your own back garden. The outdoor bar and kitchen are great and it was a pleasure to watch chef Jamie at work cooking up a banging paella whilst the co owner Sarah always made sure your champagne glass was never empty. The children's entertainment zone was amazing with the big screen playing number blocks and other cbeebies classics whilst being supplied with an endless feast of fruit kebabs and rocket lollies. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back

I have been here countless times and it continues to impress. Really highly recommend a visit. My absolute favourite food in Hertford, great atmosphere in a quirky restaurant and the staff are really nice and helpful too!

If you're looking for piped music, tv screens and food, don't go to this pub. If you want a few pints of well kept hand pulled ale then this old style boozer is definitely the place for you.

Fantastic pub meal was outstanding staff fantastic

I ordered from here a few months back and didn't post a review until the 2nd time which was an exact repeat of the 1st lacklustre meal. On the plus side: They were happy to cater for a long list of allergies. Keema naan was very tasty (though on the cold side). The negatives: food arrived luke warm and this is the 2nd time that I noted the curry massively lacked taste..bhuna is meant to be very flavoursome due to the reduction of the masala. It just wasn't on both occasions. Was hopeful for the chana masala. Same lack of flavour. All dishes including dansak lacked any salt. Seems like the masala might not have been cooked long enough to let the spices really come through. Even the onion in the chana masala was not well cooked. I have no idea if this is a takeaway only problem but I won't be ordering from here again.

this is a great spot for bubble tea and i highly recomend it since their is a range if bubbles and flaviurs i could chise from.

Shocking food was sweated up dessert wasn’t wat I wanted

Firstly I’ve had some amazing meals at this pub and I’m not sure what has happened . We booked in for Christmas menu this year on the basis of the amazing food and atmosphere of last year. This year well what’s happened?! the food seemed reheated, it was Luke warm at best, half a plate of sloppy red cabbage. the dessert tart base was pale and the lemon curd rubberised and when I mention an issue with dessert the staff are so painfully new/inexperienced they didn’t seem to know what to do. The staff didn’t ask if we were ok, could they get more drinks, no end if meal tea or coffee just felt all very odd and awkward.

avoid the lazy Sundays. cold too much Yorkshire. onion bits greasy upside service and atmosphere. should have had a burger.

First time visiting this evening, what a lovely experience. The food was amazing and such a cosy authentic atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back!
