The food was excellent and also the staff l, especially Austin, who is managing. Good old school managing for such a young man, obviously well taught by the owners Adam and Karen

Having eaten at another secret thai garden restaurant, I had high expectations. However, the standard is not comparable with the food at the coach and horses. Nice pub, but I cannot recommend eating in the restaurant.

Great pub quiz once a month, we come as a group of ladies and only meet to come here, so it's a great time to catch up and quiz at the same time. Pinot blush is great, have not tried the food but looks lovely and popular plenty of people having food while we are there.

Had a really lovely meal with my husband, son and his girlfriend on Saturday. The food was incredible, so fresh and plentiful, we had enough for my son to have lunch the following day! Lovely staff, really friendly and attentive.

Heard about the Thai from a friend honestly one of the best Thais so far warm and attentive staff especially ruby everything came out at a good time and everything was seasoned well no too sweet would definitely recommend!!!!

Honestly I hate giving bad reviews, but today's experience was beyond every taste. Thai restaurant was recommended to us, and I choose it as a place for late valentines evening. .. worse mistake possible... service was good until we made complaint about main dish. My curry beef/ prawn tasted like dessert...it was so sweet I couldn't taste if I'm eating pork or prawn...honestly tasted like a dessert... but I wanted to keep it to myself until my wife complaint about sweetness of her's dish... even though she ordered something completely different. When we mentioned to the head waitress that it's uneatable as its to sweet, she asked what we want to do about it. As being nice and hate to complaint we said nothing, hoping they will assume and take of at least something of the bill ... I've end up paying over £80 for 2, including drinks... shame... they Will not see any business from myself or any of my friends ... C'est la vie!

I pop in here quite regularly as it is only up the road and I would say it boasts a cosy, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. They serve decent wine in nice glasses and the Thai food is delicious and reasonabley priced compared to the restaurants in town so it's my restaurant of choice if I fancy Thai. I haven't had any issues with the bar staff, they have always been friendly and accommodating when I've been there so I would say it's well worth a visit.

It was my first time at the greyhound the food was lovely. Unfortunately the same can not be said for the two barmaids that laughed at me falling down a step that was not very visible when I commented on it the lady behind the bar sniggered and gave me a dirty look

Had a very enjoyable evening at the Greyhound, great food and drink for very reasonable prices. The staff were excellent just the right level if attention without being intrusive, and knowledgeable about the menu on offer. 'Lesley' one of the staff, kindly gave our friends a lift home when they were unable to obtain a taxi ! Above and beyond ! Look forward to visiting again soon

We visited the Greyhound last Friday, lovely beer, wine and Thai food! After we could not get a taxi home as all were busy. It was pouring outside and “Lesley” who works at the Greyhound offered to take us home! A really wonderful gesture which was above and beyond the level of service expected. Nice decent people deserve lots of business and we will be back very soon! Thank you Lesley and the Greyhound!

One elderly man asked for some milk as he was suffering from stomach issues and it helped him try enjoy his meal, they wouldn’t serve him. They just laughed at the request. Another customer went to co-op to get him some so that he could stay for his meal. They also sniggered at another customer who arrived to pick up a takeaway and was made wait over 30 mins. He started to get annoyed waiting but they just had no care or concern. The service in the restaurant was extremely slow, waited 45 mins for the starters and they all came different times. Food was nice when it eventually arrived but wasn’t worth the experience.

My wife and I went friends Menu Great selection to choose from The food was very nice in deed However the service was soooooo slowwww We were there on Friday evening, which was the start of the school summer hols That’s why I believe the device was slow including many many takeaways The ambiance was ok When the bill arrives, you get two , one for the food the other for drinks Anyway with all that said, I would highly recommend this this restaurant There is a very large car park to the rear

Just ordered a Thai for the family …. WOW !!!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We had : Red Thai curry , jasmine rice , salt n pepper steak , Singapore noodles ; chicken chow mien , salt n pepper chicken , prawn dim sum and veg spring rolls …. So clean and fresh in flavour ! We usually order from a Thai in town but have been completely converted after this meal ! Easy to order and delivered promptly. “ Thanks to the chef !!! “

Big thanks to Nico, Steven and team at The Greyhound for looking after us so well last night. Carrying on our exploration of the pubs in the area us newbies to Hertford came to try out The Greyhound and the Thai Garden after meeting the landlords Adam and Karen at the White Lion where we had a fab Sunday lunch, and we weren’t disappointed. Lovely pub with great cocktails got us off to a great start and when we couldn’t resist the yummy smells coming from the kitchen any longer we went round into the lovely restaurant part and had the most amazing Thai meal. The menu is really extensive and with lots of choices (more to come back to try!) that it took us a while to choose but everything was delicious and we had a very full and happy walk home. We had to stop by the White Lion on the way to congratulate Adam and Karen on another fine establishment and tell them the team did them proud. Cant recommend highly enough. Jonny & Mag

Was lucky enough to be the first person to sample the new Thai Food Menu today , and can honestly say the standard of the food was outstanding. By far the best Pad Thai I have ever tasted and the Greyhound has a fantastic new decor so cannot wait to return with the family . Very warm & friendly welcome too so thanks guys.

Lovly pub , Lovly landlord , looked after us ! Actually one of the warmest welcome to a pub I have had for some time defo be back . Worth having a drink even if your not close .

Amazing evening in the greyhound. Tomahawk steak was pretty impressive and best scallops dish I think I have ever had! Landlord and team were lovely and gave us lots of little touches to celebrate our anniversary which was really appreciated! Fireplace and atmosphere made it super cosy. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch there. Lovely veggie option, beautifully cooked vegetables and a cauliflower cheese that was absolutely delicious. Even got the recipe from the chef to try at home. Highly recommend.

Had a very very tasty Sunday roast. Lots of options and all for great value and good portion size! Highly recommend the lobster bisque, three meat roast and sticky toffee pudding! Will definitely be returning

This is a delightful,'McMullens' pub with a friendly vibe. I have a feeling that the pub maybe has changed hands or direction as the earlier reviews suggest a slightly different venue. This was our first visit here and it certainly won't be the last. The interior is typical of McMullens, having an old-worlde, yet modern feel. There is definitely an emphasis on dining here although there is also a bar/tables area and outside seating. The menu offered is outstanding (see pics) and I know when we return to eat it will be difficult to decide with such choice.

Visited this pub for Sunday lunch with family The lunch was pretty standard but we were very disappointed with the size of the portions compared to the price of the meal. Expensive afternoon for us. The pub landlord appeared rushed and felt like he did not pay much attention to us throughout our meal landlady more attentive. All in all will not be visiting again

Just had our first Sunday lunch with the new management (Johnny & team) which was amazing. Beef was perfect. Grass fed and organic from Foxholes in Hertford. Good wine too! Well done and we’re looking forward to our next visit already!

There were 8 of us in our party and we all really enjoyed the Sunday roast that was served, it was super delicious and seasoned perfectly! There was a very fussy 10 year old who ate all her food and said it was the best roast ever! Would highly recommend,,possibly the best roast in Hertford, lovely atmosphere and lovely staff/owners

This was a fairly late decision. The refurbished restaurant section is very pleasant. The Sunday lunch was pretty standard roast, We were three in the party one beef one lamb and one pork. All were satisfactory. If I were super critical I would say cut out one vegetable and add one more roast spud. There is a brilliant "old style" rioja on the wine list. the staff especially Beth? were very attentive

Most pubs have become bland restaurants in disguise. This place goes back to basics and delivers a fantastic meal of gargantuan proportions served up by a wonderful family in an atmosphere that harks back to a bygone era. After your meal relax with a pint and watch the sports or chat with the friendly locals and landlords. Steve, Amanda & Beth have turned this place around and produced a true feeling of warmth and homelessness!

Always a nice atmosphere, new managers and staff are lovely and the revamp was well worth the wait. The food is well above average and although I'm not a huge burger fan, they are homemade and really tasty.

Another excellent Sunday lunch, the meats are all of excellent quality and perfectly cooked and all dinner's come with a delicious gravy, roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. Lovely atmosphere and Steve and Amanda make you feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend

We went to this pub on Christmas eve (Saturday) for a drink with friends as they live in the area and meant that they didn't have to drive. We arrived at 10.20 pm and the restaurant door was locked. Walked round to the front of the pub and walked in, there were 3 people currently in there sitting up the bar. The bar ladies first words to us were 'It's last orders as we're shutting at 11'. We mentioned that there were keys in the front door to which she responded 'Yes, I thought I'd locked the door'. She reluctantly served us drinks. Never have we ever felt so unwelcome in a pub. It's a shame as it is walking distance from our friends, but we will not be returning. No need for rudeness like that.

Very rude mangager. Visited the pub for the first time since renovation. The barmaid mistaken got the wrong order, which was not the end of the word but the manager felt the need to embarrass us in front of others, calling us ‘once a year’ customers. Won’t be going back!
