Great takeaway, I live in Ware and they are all not great. This one reminds me of the true local chinese when I was a kid. Best food I've had from one since moving here 3 years ago, fresh, not over sweet or salty and was pleasantly suprised. Good value. Worth the effort for collection like the good old days.

This is the only Chinese establishment I would go to and have done for over 30 years when they started from a food van in Stevenage the food is always delicious, hot and fresh never had a bad meal, if you love a Chinese takeaway this is the place only downside is it’s not delivered

The best around.ive used this Chinese for eons. Lovely people it goes wrong service wise somtimes,normally fridays Saturdays,but still great hot fully cooked original chinese food.keep it up vin.

Great food great value for money

I've obviously been spoilt with quality chinese food from my local take away in Hitchin? V&V is very expensive, smallest portions I've seen and very average quality. The ribs in particular were awful, tough and not very meaty. Also had to go via a cash point as they will only accept cash, wonder why that is, not paying their taxes? No delivery service either, talk about have it all their own way!

Superb!! We have been regulars here for years, and i have to say our meal tonight after a hard day slogging was absolutely amazing!! Crispy chicken balls, superb mixed curry and beautiful rice. Absolutely 💯 %.

Been using this Chinese for so long and up until recently it has been amazing. Unfortunately they are taking on too many orders and cannot cope with the demand which has led too poor service. On multiple occasions they have missed of dishes, I gave them the benefit of the doubt but on the second occasion they missed of 5 dishes and we had paid for around 20 to 30 dishes. We were having a big family get together and were missing key dishes for family with dietary requirements. After phoning V&V they weren’t very helpful at all, we were offered to pick up missing dishes but by the time we would collect the rest of the food would be cold. I usually double check the amount of food in the order but it is mission impossible when there are so many dishes. I actually felt sorry for the young people working on reception as they were so stressed due to the amount of orders and very little staff. Don’t get me wrong the food is great but service is 👎.

Such lovely people and great food! We celebrated the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival for the first time this year and it was lovely to learn more about it from them! Cannot recommend this takeaway restaurant enough and you should get over there in the next few days to celebrate the festival - check out the full moon tonight too 🌕

Not been to this place in over 35 years. Seen good reviews, so went out of my way to try it again. I wasn't disappointed. Very traditional, foil trays, and cash only. Quality and value, and felt like a very special, old fashioned takeaway treat...

New to Hertford and love a good Chinese. Going by the reviews i decided try this one.. Although i will try others. The food is reasonably prices and of good quality. I cannot remember the last time had crispy shredded beef that i could actually eat. V & V's well it melts in you mouth. I can say there are some items i am not keen on but i am a picky eater. 100% try this place. it is collection only though aas far as know

What a gem hidden in an housing estate. The food was absolutely amazing and good value.

Ordered from here whilst in the area visiting friends, very good the roast pork curry was good, as was the Singapore Chow mein. They kno how to cook proper chinese food. The curry wasnt quite hot enough for me personally, but was in the right direction. Will use again when in the area. I am actually very picky when it comes to Chinese food so it must be good if I'm impressed and I am.

Some of the best Chinese food I've had in ages. It wasn't greasy. But the ribs were in a very odd sauce that wasn't BBQ. Chicken balls were far better than other takeaways in Hertford, the ginger chicken was lovely and overall, my 99 year old grandmother's first Chinese ever was very enjoyable. She can't see well, but finished all 7 dishes we ordered, she even had seconds! 👍

The worst chinese I've had for 20 years! Pork ribs hard as leather. Chilli squid doughie and runny! Prawn toast was rubbery. The Singapore noodles were okay... all for £19.50 ... urghhh!

Great food depending on the night of the week...busier nights can mean the food takes a bit of a hit in quality but nothing that would put you off. After all it is a take away and not a restaurant. Can not fault on their timing they have never kept me waiting. This is my regular take away choice.

The best Chinese Take-away in Hertford, bar none! The Spare Ribs are wonderful, never dry, always succulent. The Kung po Chicken is a delight. Also the kitchen staff are happy to adjust the dishes to suit your pallet, unlike many other "Take-aways" in the area. Always very good service with "Genuine" smiles and a pleasing demeanour.

Great grub best in Hertford for chinese

This Chinese take away is one of the best I have eaten from. I stumbled upon this place several years ago driving back from a day trip Cambridge and back home to central London. It was only by chance and it is the best "find" and I still cut through every now and just to get some food when I'm driving through (even though it adds 20minutes to my journey time) and either eat straight away or even take home (I even buy a bit extra for the following day). I be honest, it is situated in the middle of a residential area it is literally go there to buy food or next door to a newsagents. The food is great and cooked authentically and even better than many restaurants that would charge 2/3 times the amounts. It is the same owners from my first purchase and they are still there. Nothing is overly greasy and the flavours come through. As it is always busy (that's always a good sign) on some occasions you may have to wait a bit but usually a single dish takes literally on a few minutes. I have been here approximately 10-15 in the last few years and I don't even live anywhere near this place. Would definitely recommend this place.

The best Chinese in the area and worth the 15 mile round trip! Reasonably priced for a quality takeaway. The staff are always polite and although it can get busy with phone orders I've never waited more than15 minutes for a walk in order.
