First ever time of visiting and l was with my wife and young grand daughter, l would say it's more of an adult pub and there was a flamboyant American character it made my evening, and will go again and the prices are very favourable to other locals,

This is one of those rare venues, a proper village pub. Friendly locals, well kept ale, no pretensions. I would love to live within walking distance of such a pub.

Fabulous little country pub with great real ales , cider and lagers. Friendly and has a bit of pub grub thrown in . Never expensive as it's a free house, unlike across the road xx

They certainly know how to look after cask ale. Only pub I've found in the area that serves it as it should be. No jukebox, slot machines etc. Does have darts. Apparently a local farmer purchased the pub to keep a hub for the community when Green King moved out.

Traditional countryside freehouse,l not tied to any brewery with a wide wide range of atmosphere and personality thanks to the locals. Drinks and snacks served, does not serve cooked food usually but holds events though out the year whern barbeque food is sold. Has a large beer garden, Staff very professional and friendly. As pub is freehouse stocks three ales at time of review from both independent and established breweries. so a must for ale drinkers. Beer quality always fresh from knowlege of frequent visits

Freehouse as of August 2014 - owned by local landowner, but run by the team from Stevenage's Our Mutual Friend (regular GBG pub and repeat pub-of-the-year winner). Totally free of tie - and looked after by people who love good beer. Beers seen on opening night: Buntingford Highwayman (local brewer), Oakham JHB & Inferno, Five Points Pale Ale (London), Mallinsons Nelson Sauvin & Sorachi Ace (Yorks). More of the above in cellar plus Summer Wine (Yorks) and By the Horns (London). [Disclaimer: I sell them some of these beers!]

Booked Villa italia for a company night out. Sawbridgeworth has an Italian gem. Food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Marino and his hard working team did not disappoint. Thank you guys for an amazing night out. All my clients messaged me afterwards they had an amazing time.

We had lunch today and whilst it was perfectly nice, it was a bit underwhelming especially the food. The atmosphere and decor was very nice and the service was professional albeit a bit slow. The food definitely could have done with some more seasoning/flavour especially the Asian slaw with the mackerel and the chickpea and spiced tomato hotpot. The chocolate mousse however was very good.
