The best restaurants in Breckland East of England

Best Chinese in town. We've tried them all and Jade Garden is head and shoulders above the rest.

Just ordered a pizza and garlic bread from this place and it was terrible! I've ordered food from here many times and am a repeat customer. It had so much grease on and under the pizza that I thought John Travolta was gonna jump out and start singing about his chills and the garlic bread was soggy to the point of being wet. My partner called Pizza Plus and asked politely for a refund as we are not going to soggy garlic bread and soggy oily pizza. The manager after offering fresh food and our refusal (he said that was his position) literally shouted over my partner, would not let her speak and at first refused to provide written proof that we would receive a refund. This left my partner very anxious and quite literally shocked at the way he treated her. This is the worst customer service I have ever received and will advise everyone not to order food from this place as they have no respect for their customers. I will be paying a visit to the shop in the near future to speak with the manager and find out why he thinks it's appropriate to shout at female customers over the phone.

Wonderful Chinese restaurant. The food is exquisite, you get great portions and for bargain prices. Everything is clean and the decor is very nice. I'd like to give a special thank you to the waitress with the glasses. She is very polite and attentive. Made us feel very welcome. The service is much appreciated. I hope to be back, soon. 😊 谢谢 🙏

Staff with bad attitude!! Rang up around 5:30pm and were told we didn’t need to book we would be fine as a walk in as we weren't sure exactly what time we would get there. We arrived to be told there is a long wait for food, ordered 4 Pepsi’s which were all flat, we complained and the waitress never returned, she told us that there were 3 food items were unavailable on the menu, 30 minutes had passed so I went to the bar to swap my drink, got given another flat one so asked for a bottle out the fridge. We had waited at the table for over an hour for the waitress to come back to us to finally take our order to tell us that there were only 4 options left and they had ran out of food. We chose to leave, they wanted payment for the 4 flat Pepsi’s (only one got replaced) which we refused as we had waited for over an hour (9:30pm by this point) to be told there was no food, we raised the issue to be given attitude by two ladies behind the bar, they said ‘they need to prioritise bookings first’, surely you take orders in the order people arrive?? even though they told us we could walk in no problem and never thought to tell us the food had ran out during the time we were waiting, we were so hungry from being at the race track all day. The table next to us had half of their order missing and were still sat waiting for the rest of their food when we left. Awful, thank god we’re not locals!

Lovely, genuine old thatched pub, with lovely staff. The food could not be faulted and the portions were more than generous. Definitely intend to return.

I ordered on Uber Eats and wanted a spicy Italian toasted. The receipt had the correct order but the sandwich was tuna. How you mess that up is beyond me!

Don't order a takeaway. Waited over 35 minutes to pick up a pre-ordered takeaway. Would have been much better to have eaten in the restaurant.

Great food. Best in Dereham by a mile. Shame it is cash only

Was ok. Very slow service for no obvious reason. 5 orders on the board and 3 cars at drive through so why it took 15/20mins I don't know

We stayed here for one night whilst walking the Peddars way. A welcoming pub with good food - huge portions! Our room was nice enough, clean comfortable and spacious. The only thing we weren’t sure about was the breakfast arrangement. They offer breakfast in your room which was cereal, yoghurt and toast - there was a toaster in the room with signs up to warn you not to burn your toast otherwise it would set off the fire alarms for all other rooms! With that hanging over us we were only brave enough to lightly warm our bread! There was an option to pay extra for a cooked breakfast but we didn’t take this. That said we would stay again!

I get both takeaway and delivery, staff are always friendly. Food is amazing, plenty of it and always hot. Cash only however there are cashpoints nearby.

Best fish and chips we’ve had in a very long time. Very good value for money too. Staff were very polite and friendly. Will definitely be going back soon.

My wife and I were visiting family in the area and, on our first evening, we fancied a Chinese meal from the Ship Inn. I popped in right at opening time, so it was understandably quiet, and placed my order. About 25 minutes later, I was heading back with our food. We went for sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken chop suey, chicken chow mein, and special fried rice. Everything was delicious, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. In fact, there was so much that we enjoyed the leftovers the next evening! If we’re back in the area, we’d definitely order from here again.

Delivery time takes the piss 2 hours called them they said it will be 15 minutes and it has only just gone out for delivery then still took 30 minutes could of Warked there and back in less time
