Subway in Breckland

Crap staff more interested in there phones no lids for cups no trays struggled to carry our food no help given very dirty will not go there again and apparently there toilets don't work needs a total makeover and a good clean and retrain there rude staff

The staff was moaning about the store becoming busy, the atmosphere wasn't great and the tables and floor were filthy.. the tables were wobbling hitting the glass so needs to be repaired. Overall nice food just the staff need to appreciate those who pay the wages.

Waiter want beyond and above to make our meal perfect.

Fab subs, friendly service, warm place to eat! (6 Stars, only limited by Google).

The Subway in Thetford was always a good place to go to for lunch, especially nowadays with the options to create your own subways. I particularly liked the Subway Melt when it was a thing which was freshly baked bread stuffed with tender sliced turkey breast, ham, crispy bacon, melted cheese and I'd have honey mustard sauce with it and no salad, it really was premier, I know I can make it nowadays but it's nice to just ask for a subway melt and have it done to perfection, toasted of course!

I'm reviewing on trip advisor as I couldn't find anywhere on Subway website to give feedback about Diane and how she was the only one who appeared to be working this day. (Saturday 5th August) She is a credit to you Subway. She was friendly, professional and efficient and didn't stop! There were other people in subway uniforms wandering about or sitting down, but while we were there eating our lunch which she had prepared, whilst also putting things in the oven, taking things out, sorting delivery orders and doing a hundred other things, the others just floated about not really contributing at all. Diane made our visit very good, we enjoyed the food which was lovely and fresh and would be back. I hope this feedback reaches Diane as she deserves the pat on the back. Thanks

Ordered on Uber eats, our food arrived quickly and warm, ( Uber did good) however, Subway put the wrong order in the wrong bread, so my hubby ended up with 18 inches of sub while I had nothing. when I called they said they couldn't remake and resend as it was ordered through Uber so I had to go through the process of submitting photos and filling in forms to get the refund. Still hungry.

Restaurant is clean, nice relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly and smiling. Food is your standard Subway fare. No complaints.

Much nicer experience than any other subway I've been to. It was much smarter on appearance than all others which was impressive. I was served by a very happy lady called Bevs who made it a great experience. Nice change from being served by people who's language I can't speak so usually feel bad repeating myself over and over. Bevs was cheery and polite. Tried and liked the new Honey and Oat bread. Didn't know this was a thing as subway don't seem to advertise anything new. My favourite part is that they actually had Gluten Free bread which is so hard to find in the fastfood world. My partner is a coeliac so without this gf bread she's cut off from being able to have subways, which she now really likes, or other sandwiches when we are out and about. Do find it thoughtless to not have GF bread.

Ordered ahead on the app to avoid waiting with my disabled son but had to wait 20 minutes and was told we were 'not priority'. What's the point in preordering & paying in advance?! Rude, incompetent staff.

This is a favourite place for my child's, so we go there often and always get the same sandwich. I wish they could do birthday sandwiches or birthday something for birthday as he wanted to go there for his birthday sandwich (I know sound silly, but this is his "happy place"). We did get a sandwich, but it wasn't a "birthday special" for him. @Subway- could there be something for the future? Birthday muffin? Birthday wrapping? Balloon? Anything birthday?

Such poor service! The girl serving me was more distracted by what was happening outside. No knowledge or help with anything vegan on the menu, no vegan cheese available. The salad wasn't fresh, some of it looked like it was defrosting. The worst Subway I've been too!

Service is friendly. Although probably better if they take breaks somewhere other than out the front because when they are busy it looks like they are just sat there doing nothing. Sub was good overall but very small portions of salad in the sub, I had more bread than filling 😒 Also why does this subway have a different menu 🤔

Excellent sandwiches. I like to choose by myself the ingredients. Staff is nice and fast. I am satisfied with it.

They even gave me a pot of chicken for my dog. Amazing.

Basically not bad. Sometimes I don’t understand by what “algorithm” they put a double portion of meat. Sometimes without double stuffing more than with double stuffing. But in overall seems to be good, I did not notice any non-fresh products. Feel free to try😉😉😉

Today I took my son who was visiting us to the Thetford subway, after his flight from Northern Ireland. He asked for a gluten free roll and you would have thought he was asking for the world. The more mature lady behind the counter told him, getting that would slow down the service for the customers waiting (one couple waiting behind us) and she would have to clean the area down. Off she went with a sigh and got the cleaner and a paper towel. 1 squirt and one wipe of the counter, then a wipe of the door handle of the oven and done. We are so sorry the lady had to go out of her way so much to help my son out. Perhaps she thinks coeliac is life choice, it's NOT is a life changing disease. Then she had a go at my son as she didn't know what he wanted and she decided what he should have. This is unbelievable bad service and not the way you should treat people who have health issues. Hopefully the lady will change her attitude and treat everyone the same, not have such an attitude.

Workers are so RUDE mainly the older women, they humiliated me and my friends when we went to the toilet, and basically shamed me for getting the order name wrong and in my opinion if you don’t want to work there then don’t, if u can’t refrain from rudeness when working in customer service! -Unhappy customer

Walked into this store, waited several minutes for someone to come serve me. While a member of staff was seated and on her phone.when I enquired if someone was going to serve me or not, she did not even bother to look up, respond or show any level of customer service. The older lady busy in the back came out and served me, she was friendly and polite. And mad my sandwich like she cared at least but it just leaves a sour taste when some staff are polite and friendly and others leave alot to be desired. Staff should always be aware of customer service and not ignore customers like this young lady I encountered today. It costs nothing to be polite at all times.

Had a 6 inch meatball sub. Coming from South Africa, this was my first experience at subway. Definitely wont be my last.

Ordered a 6 inch meatball sub. The sub itself was delicious. But the management is appalling. A very friendly man at the counter took my order. He cut my bread in half.. and then the manager, supervisor, someone? came up and scolded him. "You have to cut the bread at a 45 degree angle. Is that a 45 degree angle? No." with a tone as though he's a child. She then walked off without so much as looking at me, let alone bothering to apologize for the intervention. In what world of customer service is it ok to berate your employee in front of the customer? I suppose it's good that they have high standards - but I just wanted to eat. He could have cut my bread into Mickey Mouse shapes for all I care. I feel for the staff here. Poor things were standing there looking like abused dogs - and I don't blame them.

This subway has been recently refurbished so it is fresh inside and out, well maintained and clean when we have visited! However we will not be visiting again. Food order taken eventually, staff seems preoccupied by orders being taken remotely than dealing with the customers in person in front of them. We eventually got our order taken, sandwiches made. Specifically already ordering our vegan cookies / normal cookies - only to be told we actually couldn’t have them, having them removed from our bag of items as they had been ‘sold’ elsewhere even though we had them on our order and had paid. They had none left. The staff were frankly rude and the lady involved was not interested and tried to ignore me. At this point another member of staff did intervene and gave us the cookies back as we had ordered and paid. This member of staff was fantastic and tried to rectify the situation, however the other member of staff became stroppy and damn right rude.

Our family of two adults and two young-ish children had really lovely subs in the Eat Out To Help Out offer (August 2020). Some very friendly and helpful staff, too, who helped us when being outside in the summer sun got a little too intense, and helped us to an unoccupied table inside. They seem well organised for social distancing, etc. Very good! Edit August 2021: Not the first visit since the review above, but yet again outstanding service - simply the best I've seen in such a fast-paced place. Brilliant staff, and another lovely sub, so bumped up to 5 stars.

Could of been more bacon in the roll but it was nice, the service was fast (no queues) And the staff friendly. Was able to sit out side and eat which was pleasent

Ordered 2 subs on the app and went to collect. Got to the store and there was a queue to the door. No click and collect zone. All staff were busy serving customers so there was no opportunity to ask where I could collect my order. None of the staff offered to help, despite me talking loudly to my husband about where to collect our order. We waited for 15 minutes in the queue before finally being served and was told that my order was on a table. So my order had been dumped on a table with no click and collect sign and no staff member calling out that it was an online order. Anyone could've taken that order and the staff wouldn't have known. For the time it took to wait in the queue, it was pointless ordering beforehand to try to save time. Instead I was left standing in a queue for ages whilst quite visibly heavily pregnant. Staff didn't care when I complained there and then. They also didn't complain when I emailed a complaint to the manager. His response was "oh well we left your order at the click and collect point". There was no click and collect point - just a random table with no signage at all. I asked him to forward my complaint to his line manager and I've been completely ignored since. What a surprise.

Ran out of the vegan chicken by 11.55am Saturday, Should have more for a food place that closes at 6pm New entry- Didn't give me any napkins

Very bad delivery service. Ordered a sub and one and a half hour later order have been cancelled due to no drivers on their end.

This subway seems always have a tense vibe about it. The staff are very stressed even when not busy. They are very prompt and helpful though so I can only guess management are to blame. They listen and make great food though, I have visited a few times recently and will go back.

Horrible experience! We ordered on the Just eat app thinking it wouldn't take too long at 12:40pm... the app said it would be here by 2:05pm.... called the store at 2:08pm they said the delivery driver was leaving right then with our order... it is 2:33pm now and we just received our order... it does not take 2+ plus to make 2 subs and some nachos!!! Will never order from here again! Absolutely ridiculous

Don’t bother visiting the Thetford Subway shop if you’re in a hurry. For the 3rd time running now, the staff have been more interested in preparing the phone orders than serving waiting customers in the shop. I waited 5 mins today, without so much of a word from the one member of staff preparing the phone orders. I did get a couple of gormless glances though. I walked out in the end as I couldn’t wait any longer due to work commitments. That’s three times out of three now Subway that you have behaved like this, it is also 3rd time unlucky for you as I won’t be returning in the future.

Today (15th September) I was served by a lady named Sara she made me feel stupid and my sister who has dyslexia ordered but worded her order slightly wrong she made her feel small overall she was rude we come here often and was extremely disappointed on the other hand the guy at the till named Andy was lovely and a pleasure to talk to

I come in on the 15th of September and I couldn’t be more UNhappy. I normally get lovely service and they are very helpful but today is a different question! Was served by a member of staff called Sara. I didn’t see the sign that said ‘Chicken and bacon’ so asked for ‘roast chicken with extra bacon’ and she answered back with bad attitude ‘so you want chicken and bacon then’ and when I agreed she made it. Then when I asked for cucumber on it because she didn’t have any she slammed her hand against the side and tutted at me. However while paying was served by a young man called Andy and he couldn’t have been nicer, so thank you to him! I have never been made to feel so stupid in a shop before!

Went here when eat out to help out was on, so what a bargain and so enjoyable

Ordered a delivery to a layby, the driver couldn't be bothered to deliver it, never have problems getting deliveries, just pure laziness. Looks like I'm going to bed hungry, thanks guys!

Nothing to really to shout about just ordinary bread filled rolls rolls with your choice of filling.

Love the customer service and since my wife is gluten free soon I walk in the door they know exactly what we want, top notch service.

Great subs as expected from Subway

Subway food as to be expected - kids are very happy to get food here. Like many subways the space is not great to eat in - it's tight and often very full at peak times like Saturday lunchtimes.

Me and my partner regularly use this eatery, there’s a big variety of breads and fillings, it’s clean and tidy and staff are great too! Have also various different sides to accompany the sandwich, salad or wrap! Would recommend to anybody looking for a budget lunch and good quality.

Closing at 8 ? Like really? What time do you eat your dinner in Thetford ? 4pm ? Ridiculous

The Hardwick subway is clean, friendly and great!!

We got a take away 12" roll to share at our hotel, we had eaten heavily during the morning so wanted something light before going to bed. Very pleasant young lady served us and the food was as expected tasty and good value.

In there deal after 4pm you get a foot long for £4 but this cancels all other offers you don't get a drink for 50p this costs £1.30 just a heads up so that other people know you not really saving anything.

It's OK for a quick bite if you are hungry
