Good to have them back.... Good food... Many a pleasant afternoon spent there...

This is my go to Chinese in Attleborough and genuinely my favourite in Norfolk. You can get a takeaway or sit down for a nice dinner, the food here is always up to standard and the bar is set high for a reason.

Should have probably been concerned when I gave a big order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes but went ahead anyway. The food was caked in garlic it’s all you could taste. The curry was bland. The chow mein looked like it had been refried. The salt and pepper chips were barely cooked and had the smallest amount of seasoning dumped on top with a huge amount of garlic and onion and A few chilli’s. So disappointed after moving to the area a few weeks ago I wanted to try the local places I definitely won’t be ordering again.

Came here for our tea meal. The waiters couldn't even give us a moment to settle in before coming to take our order and even afterwards when we were done eating. I was very disappointed with the plates used. They were melamine and weren't sure if it's the Chinese tradition, but those plates were not the best. Then food came, my God, the oil in the food tasted and smelt old. I burbed this bad oil all night long. I was completely gutted with the whole experience.

Ordered take away. Asked for a broccoli in black bean sauce as it was the only dish that didn't contain garlic, which I explained on phone im allergic to. Received a broccoli dish in a thick garlic sauce. (Not black bean as ordered) had to throw it away. Disappointed to say the least!

Had a takeaway last night of duck in pepper sauce. The meat was more than 50% slimy fat. The complimentary prawn crackers tasted like they had been cooked in oil that hasn't been changed for ages. This has always been my favourite Chinese in Attleborough and I have eaten takeaways here for years. But I've noticed a gradual decline in the food quality and this is the worst it's ever been. Might have been a one off. I really hope so.

The food was very good can’t complain about that but the atmosphere and the staff were miserable the only time they had a smile on their face’s is when they were leaving off.

The dishes here are amazing, every thing we ate was really hot and very tasty and arrived within 10 to 15 minutes of ordering. We never had to wait for our food and the service from all the staff was excellent. Just like how my mum would cook when we were growing up. (Mum's from Hong Kong). My husband and I use this restaurant on a regular basis and have been seated eating when some people have complained and shouted at the staff with no respect. Constructive feedback is good but there are ways to speak to people and not be disrespectful. Everyone has a right to voice their opinion but don't need to try to ruin a business that work very hard to try and satisfy each and every customers taste buds.

When the starters finally arrived, the order was wrong, and one of the items was cold. Not just lukewarm, but actually stone cold in the middle. The young lad serving us was apologetic, but the older woman who appeared to be in charge was abrasive and rude. We weren't made to feel welcome. When paying, I mentioned the problems (30-minute wait for food, having to order a course twice, wrong order, cold food). I asked for a reduction in the bill. The older woman refused. Her excuse was that we got our food eventually and that it wasn't just us; other people had to wait as well! Because of the problems, the whole meal took 2 hours. The young waiter & waitress that served us were great, but the people in charge didn't seem to care that customers were not having a good time. Not once were we asked if we wanted to order more drinks. Really disappointing. We won't be back.

The service was absolutely disgusting, food was almost thrown at you, no communication, the lad was quite Seville, we spent £640 and gave them a tip they did not deserve, will not be going there ever again, I give them a 1star for service, but a 4 star for food. Mrs Leigh Smith

Expensive food, bad portions, terrible staff and service. Chicken appeared processed and had a mushy texture. Avoid at all cost.

Awful experience, our waitress was miserable and had a bad attitude, food and drink took forever and when the lemon chicken came it was processed chicken and had a mushy texture. Ridiculously expensive for a terrible experience and bad portions. Avoid.

Poor service and the quality really isn't anything special. We went in with someone who had an allergen so didn't want to risk eating anything other than chips, we asked if they would order them off the normal menu rather than the all you can eat menu. They said they were too busy to have someone order off the normal menu, even though they did chips on the all you can eat. Very greedy and not thinking about their customers. Very disappointed, as our friend had to sit there and not eat anything all night.

My family and I eat here regularly. This for us is the best Chinese around. We drive from Wymondham to get our takeaways here. The staff are lovely. I’m really shocked by the reviews here as we have never been disappointed. I’d definetly recommend it. My personal favourite is the mixed starters.

Would recommend highly going your here for a meal

After specifically asking how long it would take as had other food to collect for my family was told 15-20mins, after collecting other foods, I arrived 25mins after placing the order. I enquired and was told 2mins which i thought was odd but they were busy. After waiting another 5-7mins I enquired again to find out they had forgotten my order.. All i get is a sorry.. All the other food in the car is now cold by the time i got home.. so family treat night was ruined.. wont be using them again....

Reviews tend to be just for the very good or the very bad and this was bad; possibly the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever tasted. It was crude, stodgy and having little relationship to the subtlety of flavours and textures one expects . A real disappointment after some positive comments from family so hopefully a one off blip.

A brilliant all you can eat with fresh dishes served to your table.

I had high hopes for this.. but I have to say it was horrendously expensive and just an awful experience. Working in customer myself the staff need some retraining. We were met with a lady who very clearly didn’t want us to be there, I booked via FB and had written confirmation of our booking - 3 times I was asked if we had booked which was frustrating as the restaurant was less that 20% full. No explanation of how the menu worked despite us explaining this was our first time. The food was mediocre at best… having to order buffet food causes an issue that is just not needed, how you can order only 4 dishes to suit everyone if you are in a larger party baffles me! It’s just a bit bonkers! Ribs were fatty with no meat, soups very salty, duck served with barely any spring onion or cucumber 🤷🏻‍♀️ beef chewy and just poor quality. Another couple arrived whilst we were eating, they were made to feel so uncomfortable by the waitress I am surprised that they stayed if I am honest. Almost £80 for lunch for 2 adults and a 10 year old. We left feeling extremely dissatisfied and like we had been an inconvenience, we eat Chinese at least once a week - we won’t be back. I honestly think save your money and go else where.

Some of the best Asian food I've ever had. The best in our local town of Attleborough regularly get both takeaway and sit in wonderful service, nice modern atmosphere, clean, the all you can eat is great value. Portions are good and taste is amazing service is prompt and friendly I'd highly recommend. Keep up the good work.

This is our local food venue, the last time we came here there were zero customers so having ordered a bottle of wine we were super disappointed to get out mains 5 minutes after arriving and had to leave with a nearly full bottle of wine. The young British female with no interest in us and clearly didn't wish to be there. She took our orders and dumped our food on the table without asking if we wanted anything, in-spite having empty glasses she left our meals and slammed them down without asking if we needed any drinks or condiments !I went and personally found salt & pepper and re ordered drinks at the bar as the young staff were incompetent. I won't be returning , very disappointed .

Food not as good as it was before lock down, as for the crispy chilli beef, its just batter that doesn't taste anything remotely like its supposed to.

A really good take away! We ordered a fairly large meal for 8 people, it was ready quickly and tasted great. Exactly what you want.

Excellent food, we went for the all you can eat, great selection on menu, all served very quickly, food was hot, really enjoyable evening. Some of the recent reviews were hit and miss but that wasn’t our experience at all. We went for a selection of starters, some duck as a middle course and then a selection of the mains.

We had the best Chinese ever my son never eats his meal but he did tonight I can’t fault a single thing next time we will sit in we think i am recommending this to all I know

Have been to many Chinese restaurants and would rate this one very highly. Hot, freshly cooked delicious food and very quick service. Never ever disappointed. Never ever had any problem with the service. Be friendly and respectful to the staff and that’s exactly what you will then get back. Would definitely recommend

I felt I needed to make a review for this restaurant as we had read quite alot of bad reviews before going. Please don’t listen to those bad reviews! This place is lovely and offers amazing Chinese food! The restaurant is really nicely decorated, staff were very friendly. The food was all great and came out piping hot and very quickly. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been some background music. We really enjoyed our meal here. Thank you very much.

Great service recommend buffet on Monday

Food - Relatively ok compared with other Chinese food in Norwich. Service - One of the staff is very rude. Sadly she seems the one in charge. She made mistakes but blamed the client. It's ridiculous! I booked 10 people. When I requested to pay the bill, she charged me 9 adults and 1 child. In fact, we have 6 adults, 3 child and 1 baby. I told her the actual number of people. She blamed us we should tell. First of all, we were seating here so she can count. Second, she can confirm with us. At the end she blamed us. It is ridiculous!! She missed the drinks when finalized the bill. I told her but she hasn't said thank you but she was still very rude.

A huge restaurant in a pretty building, not sure how business is... it was quiet for lunch on a weekend. They offer a Sunday all - you - can eat 'made to order' buffet which we tried. The bill for 2 people was £50. I've been to A LOT of buffets and have a good idea of what's what. I'm a little disappointed to have to give an average score, the starters were pretty good and the crispy duck and pancakes not bad. Unfortunately the mains were not really up to par at all. We ordered some roast duck in capital sauce and some roast pork in soya sauce. The mains arrived at our table 60 seconds after ordering them so we knew they were reheated or at the very least pre - heated, however it was worse than that... the duck was clearly in very short supply (v little on the plate) and the pork... I don't know how old that pork was... each mouthful took several minutes to chew, I had a jaw ache after, chewing gum breaks down faster than the pork here... in fact it was a bit like pork flavoured chewing gum really... not a sign of decent food. Buffet food is never going to be perfect quality but something was very wrong. The mains were thoroughly disappointing after fairly good starters. I can't justify spending £25 on a meal for rock hard meat regardless of how good the starter tray was. 2.5/5.

We ordered a take away and a couple of cokes to drink while we were waiting. The cokes were given to us, no glasses, no ice, just expected to drink out of the can. They brought our order out which we accepted. When we got home, only.part of the order was correct, the rest was not ours. As it was a bit of a trip back we decided to keep and eat what we had been given. The food was awful, bland tastless, full of thickening flour, grease and over priced !!! The duck was cooked re heated and the meat was hard.. The plum sauce and the sweet and sour was good although we could quite eat 5 tubs of it Never again !!!

Thought long and hard about this but have to comment. After visiting the restaurant Sunday just gone. The quality of the food has certainly dropped. However the grumpy waitress wearing the black T shirt with the yellow face printed on it, Is so rude until a face comes in she recognised then she smiles and laughs like she is at a comedy club. Only joke here is your restaurant you can stick your restaurant where the sun don't shine. Ignorant rude woman never again I hope this review hurts your business

Really bad experience, me and my boyfriend were for Sunday buffet. Staff was very unpleasant and made us feel uncomfortable. Food was just not for me, I couldn’t eat it. I was informed that I had to pay for left overs and also advised to read terms & conditions on the back of menu. Very unprofessional service behaviour

We went for a happy family meal with friends that turned into a miserable experience. We arrived and waited ages for staff to come over even though the restaurant was empty with only one couple. One of our children spilt a drink and was upset. A member of staff came over huffing and puffing and showed no compassion left the table wet, and I had to clean up with the napkins, didn’t offer our child another drink who was clearly upset! When she came to finally take our order she was very sharp and to the point, we felt like we was rushed and not welcome. The food came out which was ok, but no customer service skills at all! We just wanted to get out of there after spending a lot of money. No one asked if everything was ok, we was just ignored. When we went to leave I mentioned to one of the other staff that the lady that served us was rude, she shrugged her shoulders and gave me a filthy look and said nothing!!! We paid the bill and was glad to leave there. We went on to a local pub with more friendlier service. We will not go back there again!!!

Whilst on a trip in the UK, we had to try and indulge in a traditional local Chinese takeout and stumbled across this bustling joint in the small town of Attleborough. I personally didn't enjoy it too much, minimal flavor and pretty greasy so it wasn't my jam or vibe. I got the Ma-Po Tofu which is meant to portray the Sichuan Province, where spicy food is king and the signature spice of the region within China but was totally westernized. The Tofu with beancurd was also incredibly sweet and just not a good time too. I've personally never seen Vegetable Spring Rolls so small, hollow and genuinely feeling sorry for themselves. I love to support local businesses and hate to bash but have to be honest.

Overpriced food, small portion sizes, and very rude management. Would not go back and I'd suggest anyone else to stay away. Seems the type of place local people go who haven't ever been anywhere else as I truly can't understand the ratings of this restaurant after my appalling service just a few hours ago. Never again! Didn't even get anyone come to the table and ask how the food was or even a smile for that matter. Also after getting back home thinking we were overcharged and adding everything up we have been overcharged by £17+ also the lemonade tasted like soda water and the juice for the children was also watery!

We have tried all of the Chinese restaurants in Attleborough & Wymondham but always come back to Royal Garden. The food is absolutely delicious, always very quickly prepared to.

Christmas Eve. Slow service, missed dishes, slightly menacing ambience, ‘interesting clientele’, and haphazard set-up. Avoid unless you want a ‘not cheap and cheerful’ experience.

Taken here by a friend, managed to get a table despite them being busy, food was very nice but came out very quickly, in fact a bit too quick.....would go back though.

Been here with my family twice in the past 6 months, and I have to say, both times we were made to feel uncomfortable by the waitress, she kept going on and on about how much food we could order, once we did order she kept counting the dishes and asking if we are able to eat them all! Friends were down from Scotland, so there was 10 of us, we ordered 3 bowls of rice between us!!! We missed out on dishes we wanted to try as waitress just went on and on.....its OK to take our money , but to deliver poor customer service! It was my friend Grace's birthday as well as our son, we had to go ask for a knife and plates, as we were just left sitting there, Very poor, and very money orientated!!

Very efficient dinner service Saturday despite a large amount of takeaway orders. Food was very good, quality of ingredients was lovely. Polite staff. We will visit again.

The chicken is of a very low quality and I suspect is the water injected cheap variety that make it difficult to eat. I ordered the chicken satay starter and had to chew through each piece. It was so chewy and stringy that it was difficult to cut even with a knife. I noticed other diners on other tables gnawing at it to try and break it up into bite size pieces. I have never seen diners chewing through chicken stay before. I gave up after finding each piece was identically poor. The main dish was sweet and sour chicken balls and completely taste free rice, so bland that is was a waste of time ordering it. The chicken in the balls was the same consistency as the satay, no surprise there. This wasn’t a cheap meal either but quite expensive considering the low quality on offer. Avoid

The setting was fine, staff very pleasant the food was OK but became cold. This was the first time I've had chinese dishes not served on a table hot plate to keep the food hot. Very disapointed

Stopped here on our way home as we realised there is only 1 Chinese restaurant in Norwich and not near us. Accommodated despite no booking on a Saturday evening; we arrived 5 mins after opening. Very popular for takeaways. Got a bottle of water from the fridge as we both wanted tap water and I had a glass of the dry house white. Pleasant enough. Had set menu as couldn't decide from wide range. Mixed hors d'oevres arrived promptly after prawn crackers. We soon cleared the platter. Waitress was a bit too prompt in clearing the table from this course as I was still chewing as she did so. Duck is presented already shredded and off the bone. Mains - 3 meat/ fish dishes plus veg & rice. All very tasty. Not sure if msg is used in their food as both of us got rather thirsty on the drive to Norwich.

Had a lovely meal here at Royal garden myself and 8 others! All food was hot tasty and recieved everything asked for little bit of waiting in between courses Though! Had one issue on receiving crispy duck had another plate added to our order just brought out we hadnt asked for it…We had, eaten some of it for it then to be took back and told it was for another table and given directly to the other party opposite us! bit bad of the Chinese lady serving whom passed it to other people after we had been eating it?!…. Only other moan was the conservatory room we were in was really cold! Visit 5 /6/2022

Super fast service for takeaway, best Smoked chicken ever!

It was a delight to eat in this restaurant. The food was excellent as were the staff, It was good value for the money and well worth a visit.

Even though they were very busy, all the staff were very attentive to us (we ordered food to take away). Really enjoyed the food - lovely and fresh.
