The best restaurants in Bedford East of England

went with some mates after work for a few beers,have to say wish i stayed at home,poor servive,disgusting over priced drinks,better off going to the off license,stay away

They still have an elaborate one-way system through the store, with no sign of how to find the coffee shop. They have taken away all of the big sunshades so on a very sunny day you either sit indoors or else in direct sunlight. In fact it was quiet; the staff said that they are busy MTW because of the Government discount, and today Friday was very quiet. Coffee cake £4.75 =:-(. Only one gents in use, the air blast hand dryer wasn't working. In the old days when Mr Dakin was the owner, it wasn't perfect but today was not a good experience.

Visited garden centre (or should I antiques centre - not the amount of value plants that were here a few years ago) whilst passing and stopped for lunch at Blossom Cafe. Sat outdoors in nice courtyard area. COVID awareness signs etc in place. However we had to ask for the table to be cleaned once we had sat down. I would have expected this to be done once previous customer had vacated. Teas brought out fairly quickly but had to wait over half an hour for food as did a few others seated near us. When food did arrive, no apology for lateness. The food itself however was very good we both had paninis’ with crisps and salad. Reasonably priced would visit again but feel they need to up their game with COVID restrictions a little more.

Possibly the best kebab I’ve ever had. Instead of serving in a standard pita they hand make a naan and cook in front of you which tastes superb, plus the amount of meat and salad added is both sizeable yet appropriate. There’s a few tables for dining in which were clean and the staff were friendly enough. This will be my kebab place of choice from now on.

Arrived just as they were closing as I finished work late. All the kebab cookers had been switched off as they were understandably nearly out of the door, they turned the donner back on just for me! Once it was cooked they gave me what was probably the best donner wrap I've ever had, they even explained that it wouldn't all fit in the wrap so they gave me a massive box of extra donner meat! Free of charge! I got a portion of chips & a drink too. All this for 12 quid. I attempted to leave a tenner tip as I was so grateful for the extra effort they went to, which they outright refused. All they asked was that I would come back, well they don't have to worry about that. Absolute legends. Thanks chaps! George

Good little menu with variety of selection. We was seated quickly and ordering was easy. It then took about 45 mins for 2 sandwiches to arrive. We was not told of any waits. When the food arrived the salad in the sandwich was all hot and soggy and the bread super hard so we couldn't actually eat most of it. Slightly put me off returning.

Dos de nosotros fuimos al Progreso del Peregrino tarde/temprano por la noche. Uno de nosotros era vegano, pero los dos elegimos del menú vegano - ¿y por qué no? La razón por la que no se aclaró rápidamente... Los dos pedimos el "Más Allá de la Hamburguesa" ... y ciertamente estaba "más allá" de algo - la creencia en este caso, y no en el buen sentido ... Uno de nosotros lo tenía tal como venía, y el otro lo pedía sin el bollo. Antes de que nadie diga nada, el "bollo" es un rollo de brioche bastante patético e innegablemente diminuto. Es de suponer que el brioche es más barato que un bollo adecuado, por lo que no cabe duda de que las cucharas Wetherspoons las utilizan... pero debería haber una opción. La única gracia salvadora fue que pudo haber sido una mierda, pero al menos no había mucho de eso... lo cual es ridículo en sí mismo. De todos modos... "sin bollo" parecía traducirse a "sin bollo y sin ensalada". Y creo que quienquiera que fuera el cleptómano de la ensalada también había robado la mitad de las patatas fritas de ambos platos. Era un plato muy grande, con una comida muy, muy pequeña. ¡Ni siquiera estoy seguro de que ninguno de los dos hubiera cumplido con el requisito de las Normas Comerciales de haber sido vendido como comida para niños! ¿He mencionado las hamburguesas? Aproximadamente del tamaño de un guiño grande - guiño cada uno, si los guiños cosquilleos se hicieron de cartón ... y apenas más grueso. No hubo manera de salvar esta "comida". Cuando un miembro del personal se disculpó y trajo una pequeña cantidad de ensalada y algunas papas fritas más... y al menos tuvo la buena gracia de parecer avergonzado por lo que su empleador le estaba pidiendo que proporcionara a los clientes... pero su (mala) "solución" solo enfatizó lo mucho que Wetherspoons había fallado. He incluido una fotografía (tomada de cerca o puede que hayas tenido problemas para ver lo que se presentó) de la "comida" sin bollos, sin ensalada y sin patatas fritas. Antes de eso he incluido una foto real de Wetherspoons de una comida de hamburguesa no vegana, para permitir alguna comparación, incluso sin un bollo. Wetherspoons - hiciste un trabajo de mierda.

I have always had a pleasant experience in this Costa Coffee. The staff have always been pleasant. They seem to always be busy when I go but seem to cope with calmness. I do get what I asked for and enjoy sitting and chilling with my extra hot Oat Chai Latte.. Mmmmmmm... and a cheeky cake.... but resisted today

Heard about herd (excuse the Pun)!through the music venue Esquires and had a meal here with my other half to celebrate Valentines day.Our meal was really nice and great value .Service was a bit slow (Friday night )but worth the wait and the waiting staff did everything they could from what I could see to keep on top of things.The bar attached to Herd is truly awesome.Amazing DJ'S playing awesome music. A really friendly intimate happening place with great vibes and a hidden gem.Places like this are few and far between and if you like great music, great company and a great atmosphere this is the place to be. Can't wait to return.

Estuve aquí un número de veces después de nuestra experiencia de 1 calle fue increíble. Mi pareja lo reservó para la noche de San Valentín y su entrante de calamar tenía solo 2 piezas y apenas tenían 5 mm de grosor. Su plato principal de pollo se ahogó en cardamomo y era todo lo que podía probar. Pedimos roti pero tuvimos paratas. Mi caña de cordero que se supone que se caiga del hueso era dura, así que la tomaron de vuelta, la reemplazaron por otra, y descubrieron que también era dura. En este punto el arroz estaba frío y decidimos con el mal servicio que no queríamos seguir con la comida. Nos dedujeron el calamar y el cordero de nuestra comida. Pedí que el cargo por parata y servicio (que es discrecional) también se dedujera, solo para encontrar que cuando pagamos que el cargo por servicio todavía estaba en la factura. Pedí que se me devolviera el cargo por servicio para que me dijeran que no es una opción que decidamos nosotros y que es obligatoria. Qué lástima que tuvimos numerosas fiestas allí y ahora nunca volveremos.
