So many selections of Gin and the cocktails are spot on also. It is a nice place to have a drink with friends or partner before dinner.

I went to Toast for a friend's birthday celebration. I don't drink, so went to the bar and asked what they had in terms of no-alcohol drinks other than the rather sickly-looking cocktails. The barman looked at me like I was a freak and said 'this is a bar you know!'. Ok then, I'll drink elsewhere in future. Thanks.

Came here to try some refreshments and the staff didn't seem to care. I ordered a simple diet coke and it seemd like I was asking for him to go to the factory and pick it up for me! This new complex at the moment is in the wrong location in Bedford, doesn't seem to pull many people.

I am went to toast with my Dad for my 18th birthday to have cocktails- my first legal drink! I arrived and the greeting was nice. But I am not at all happy with how the rest of the evening went- I firstly would like to point out that I have never complained about anywhere on trip advisor before or else where, and I am very upset that I am for one of my 18th birthday celebrations. So I ordered my first cocktail and my dad and I sat down at a table. We then asked for some tapas- which I had read online toast is amazing for. The barman then said they don’t have anything to eat apart from some ready salted crisps and humus, therefore we only had 2 small bowls of crisps and humus. I drank my first cocktail and I went to the bar to order my second, to then find that the barman was out the front of the bar smoking a cigarette. He then come inside to the bar and started asking me what previous drinking experience I have had and whether I was a beginner, personally I felt a little bit awkward answering- purely as it’s none of his business. I then sat back down with my dad I then noticed that the barman was drinking a beer while on shift- which even I know is very unprofessional. After chatting about my 18th and having fun with my dad for a while- we both wanted another drink each. I said to my dad I would go up and get them. So I went back the bar and I said to the barman “Please can I have another drink” and he was very abrupt and rude and he said “ I don’t want to be branded with getting you drunk on your 18th” I then said “Why, what do you mean, I’m fine?” He then said “You drank that cocktail faster than I would ever drink it- slow down!” I was in shock. So then he said “I’ll only make you another one if you drink it slower”. I was very unhappy about this as I had just turned 18- an adult, and I was clearly sober! I had just reached my first milestone in life and he was belittling me about drinking habits- which is again none of his business. So I sat back down with my dad- to spend time just the two of us. But he came over and said to me the only reason he said what he did is because he didn’t remember his 18th and he wants me to remember mine. But I thought it was very rude and forward, as he cannot control or have a say with what I decide to do for my birthday, after all we are the ones there paying him for a service. I would like to round up by saying I was not at all pleased with how the evening took place, and it put a bit of a downer on my day- which I was enjoying so much until the way he treated me!

Called in early on a Saturday evening for a drink. The place was narrow and given that there 7 of us, we were constantly jostled by the bar staff who were forever taking boxes upstairs. Drinks were ok and reasonable priced. My main concern was that my shoes were sticking to the floor which had obviously not be properly cleaned - quite tacky.

Yes you could go to slug and lettuce or wetherspoons to get a cheaper cocktail, but if you want to sit with friends or on a date and really enjoy a true cocktail experience without going to London... then come to Toast!! Made by a actual mixologist these speciality cocktails are a great start, middle or end to any night.

Fantastic cosy bar with a fantastic cocktail menu and amazing service. The bar is small and all of the seating was taken or reserved. To make up for it, the cocktails are to die for and the service provided by the bar staff was extremely friendly and attentive! Will definitely be making another visit 🍹

I booked a table for my birthday and to my surprise we had shockingly bad, undrinkable cocktails. Even when we asked for replacements they were as bad, so we refused to pay. Terrible music, pokey little space. None of us will ever return.

Popped into Toast for a cocktail or three, prior to attending the Bedford Prosecco Festival. Welcoming and friendly, we felt immediately comfortable. Very varied and informative drinks menu made it hard to chose but our eventual choices were served beautiffully and were delicious and reasonably priced. Well recommended.

This bar is a critical addition to Bedford. I'm a spoilt Aussie, but my fiancee is Bedford born and bred, so I'll be here pretty often. This place makes you feel like Bedford isn't all about old buildings and history, it gives a modern and young feel to the town. It's a cocktail bar with loads of cool, unique options, so don't expect to pay the prices of your local, 600 year old, urine soaked pub. Creativity and effort costs money! Would happily come here again to sample some more of the unique menu.

Visited Toast before attending a concert at the Corn Exchange on Thursday. Great choice of cocktails, spirits and wine. Chose The Twister cocktail...loved the ‘twist’ that came with it. Would definitely pay another visit if I get the chance

So out celebrating my birthday and decided to pop for a drink. Ended up in toast. Cocktails were ordered and the barman took an absolute eternity to make two drinks! It didn’t help that he didn’t know how to make the drinks and had to stand their googling them! In addition to the extremely slow service, one of the drinks contained egg, which it did not mention on the menu nor warn anywhere else! Poor service, overpriced drinks. Won’t be going back.

Toast is such a great addition to Bedford. Brilliant location and really friendly and welcoming staff. Love the variety of cocktails/spirits and mocktails. The latter makes it a great place to spend a relaxed 45 minutes sipping on an unusual non-alcoholic drink in the day. The decor is great too. All in all, a great place to visit. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

We arrived here late on Friday night after dinner, to have a quiet drink and a chat - this place is perfect for that, lovely atmosphere and a great range of cocktails, all professionally made and nicely presented for a good price. They were out of a few ingredients but we were let know once we'd ordered and it wasn't difficult to pick something else on the menu we fancied!

I first found this completely by accident when the bar I had intended to buy a glass of merlot in turned out to be closed for training. I went in, asked for a large merlot and got an extra large on because there wasn't much left in the bottle and 'we don't sell that much merlot on a Monday so you have it'

We called for lunch today, in our party is a person with a walnut allergy, who was given a check sheet, which was very helpful. We then placed our order, the waitress came over and informed us the next table over had ordered a meal with peanuts in it. We informed the waitress the allergy was with walnuts and thanked her. When the meal came out for our guest we were told it had been made free off contamination and also brought out freshly sterilised utensils. In this we felt the staff had made an proper effort in making sure the guests meal was contamination free. Well done to all.

Havent been here for a while. Food used to be excellent last time we went for a roast dinner it was nearly cold having waited half an hour for it. Used to be a guy running it full of character and a comprehensive menu that has all changed. Its over the road from us but rather get in the car and find somewhere else

Will never go back, food lukewarm and bland. Constantly hassled by tote girls to place bets on dogs. Dogs didn’t look happy or healthy, hardly excelling in animal welfare.

Oh Dear, another Pub totally unaware of the current disability regulations. There isn't a ramp, there are even any same level flooring, upon enquiring with one of the staff regarding access to the premises, by one in a wheelchair, we were curtly reminded that this was a traditional Public House, who don#t cater for those with mobility issues! Such a shame as my friend had his legs blown off in Afghanistan, and is a hero.
