Canton Chinese Take Away in Bedford

This place been my go to Chinese since I was a child know it like the back of my hand it's always been a good place to eat from but recently it's improved immensely, food is so fresh and authentic it just trumps the other takeaways! The chicken and cashew nut dish here is unreal here I can't have one from anywhere else

Ordered food on All Eat took money off my partner went to get the food the shop is closed but on the website says they're open. Now I have no food or money .bad communication. Might not order again 👎

Order food n when I went to pick it up they were closed till next day. Now waiting for a refund. Should of wrote it down somewhere they closed for day

Good spot for Chinese takeout, just did a big order for myself and my family.. the kung po chicken was delicious! Family were very impressed with the food. Thankyou

Expensive considering their outgoings food ok won’t take card payment (tax dodge) charactless abrupt staff no advantage in collecting as opposed to delivery won't be returning

Shredded crispy chilli chicken was overcooked and dry. Chicken chop suet was completely flavourless. Salt and chilli prawns were covered in thick colourless batter. Nothing like dishes were under the previous owners. WE WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN!!!!!

Yummy great value for money, i had soup and A7 set meal, very nice came to £11.50 also included prawn crackers.

My Malaysian Rice was great, but the noodles were super oily and honestly just gross. EDIT: Canton has a 1 star food hygiene rating btw

I always order from this place and have never had a problem.I ordered last night and there was a hair in the prawn crackers in the middle of the bag.I was told that perhaps it was my hair as all the chefs wear hair nets.The lady on the phone was very reluctant to help me.

Best Chinese food in Bedford and trust me I've tasted a few! Service is good too.

I USED to go to Lee's but not no more after Canton was recommended I gave it a try. Not only is it very good value for money but the food is of great quality. I don't have anything negative to say. The food arrived hot and early. Order was all correct, portions are good and the quality is very good, not too mention the staff are very friendly. Easily my new favourite in Bedford, can highly recommend. Ps the chips are the best I have ever had from any Chinese.

Spent over £30 on food that was not edible. Chicken balls cooked in out dated oil causing them to turn out like this. Meat and noodles was slimy beef was slimy. Called this place and the woman on the phone was still telling me this is fresh food. Took it back to the shop and after arguing with the woman who still told me the food is fresh got a refund. Will never be using this Chinese again. Absolutely disgraceful.

I have used this take away for many years and found the food good and not too expensive. It must have changed hands as the food now is different and nowhere near as good. I certainly would never go there again.

You order food and the only excuse they can come up with is the delivery driver left half an hour ago. Order to eat are the worsed delivery company I history, ordered at 17.00 still waiting 19.06

Awful food, my friend threw up after eating the chicken with ginger and spring onion. Do not recommend, wish I'd have seen the other reviews before trying myself. Won't be coming back.

Really great chicken curry here and always consistent. It's not fancy food but it doesn't pretend to be. Good honest takeaway food!

Absolutely awful. Took 2 hours 20 minutes to arrive a 5 minute journey. I called 5 times but they didn't care. When I called to complain she hung up on me. Food was lacklustre at best, greasy, cheapest ingredients. Awful experience.

Recently moved back into the area and needed a new Chinese restaurant to go to, food was beautiful and cooked perfectly, only waited 5 minutes for the food to be cooked, would highly recommend!

Terrible service - ordered 4 hours ago did not arrive. Phoned to ask where order is and woman rudely hung up. What a dissapointment.

Thought we would try it because a menu was put through the door. Big mistake, i kept calling asking where it was and they kept lying, 4 dishes, 1 hour 55 minutes, cold tasteless food, really disappointing .

Absolutely appalling service,rung at 5.15pm and it is now 7.30pm and I still haven’t received my food. The lady who answers and takes orders is so rude,keeps putting me on hold and taking orders for people who are walking into the shop. I will definitely not be ordering from here again,I have 2 small children and start work at 9pm..my food finally arrived at 7.40pm..such disgusting service and customer service,the delivery driver was lovely tho so didn’t want to say anything to him.. there food might be 5* but unfortunately for me it’s the service that counts aswell,this is how my food arrived cold and the curry sauce was spelt every were

We normally order from Canton and thoroughly enjoy our meal, however this evening has been disappointing to our surprise. Our meal took 3hrs to arrive, ordered at 6,got it at 9 to find we only received half of one meal. Disappointed.

Ordered at 17:20 food come cold at 19:20, my sons food was missing. So he went without. This is the second time now. Been eating here for years , but definitely has lost it appeal and gone downhill . Sad really.

We have ordered from Canton for the the first time tonight online. Our food arrived hot and within 45mins, the portion sizes were great but the Singapore chow main could of been more spicy though, duck rolls were crispy and perfect as was the duck sauce. Chicken balls could of had a little less batter for our taste. The spring roll was crispy and tasty. Value for money. We will definitely be ordering again.

We tried here for a change and to be honest probably won't be using here again. Slow service even though we collected and there was stuff missing we had to go back for. Food tastes nice so let down on how they get it to you.

Ordered via web "order2eat" money taken then text saying payment not taken "too busy". Tried ring restaurant 35 times no reply. Completely useless set up now, wont be using them now.

Just had a takeaway from Canton - everything over cooked and tough. Worst meal ever from here!! Even the takeaway was empty so maybe others are experiencing the same.

Curry pacific prawn with boiled rice cold Wont be repeated

Used to be my goto place. Good value and nicely cooked. Chicken curry was a little lack lustre- not a recommended dish. Since the previous counter staff lady left, I have ordered my usual, £16.50 meal for two, 3 times. The first was much sloppier and greasier than usual but I mentioned it the next time I went in. No change on the food that came, same greasy offering. I have tried once more but now won't be back. I have used them for years since I was a child. New man on counter is not very welcoming. Shame.

Love the food here 1st time sweet chilli shredded beef was not that good but everything else was will be going back again soon

The Food has Quality and Taste..strictly take away great to know they now offer delivery. .order on line and enjoy your food. Reasonable priced and very good quality and taste.i,ve never been dissatisfied.

Didnt actually order any food so cant comment on that but I phoned to order a takeaway the guy was unbelievably rude, his pritory was to rush me off the phone when I was trying to place my order. Then the guy got angry because he couldn't hear me too well, clearly needs to sort out his phone line. Rubbish.

Ask to take a look in the kitchen. Food products are lying around on buckets and baskets on the dirty floor. The owner has no ethics and treats his staff like rubbish. The previous counter lady was threatened with violence by the owner who is a delusional old man. The food may taste great, but at what price? DO NOT SUPPORT A PLACE THAT HAS NO RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLE. I am not one for writing negative reviews like this, however, FELLOW BEDFORDIANS NEED TO KNOW THIS!

Food was excellent as always. Having lived in several different places around the country this chinese take away is the best one I've come across & their Special Fried Rice is the best I've ever had.

Our Canton Chinese experience this evening was awful. Ordered through the online app. Delivery and cooking time was hour and a half. 45 minutes in, restaurant rang and said delivery driver was on his way. Result! 40 minutes later, still no delivery. Rang restaurant and was told he left 5 minutes ago. 2 minutes later, he arrived. You cannot get to my house in that time so that was untrue. Anyway... the food... we open the food. Rice missing. One vegetable chow mein replaced with a pork chow mein. Rang restaurant to complain, and after several minutes on the phone, saying how we would get 20% off our next order, we were told the delivery driver would be on his way back and would refund us £10. How do I know I’m going to place another order?! So food continued... We dish up to find crispy shredded chilli beef does not contain meat but just long strips of soggy batter that would put an octopus tentacle to shame. And then we find out the chicken balls were uncooked, pink and soggy in the middle. I will attach a picture of what a ball looked like cut in middle. Funnily enough, after this, £50 later, we lost our appetite and it goes towards the one place it is fit for - the bin!

Beautiful food cheap compared to others taste out of this world never had complaints about there food RECOMMENDED FULLY

Tried this place out , the staff seemed really friendly and attentive at first but then they seemed to forget about us .maybe because they were busy but then we ordered our food , thought it be worth the wait but in all honesty it was ok but not wow .

Complete mistake, ugly old oil flavour of chicken balls whereas they were more like chunks covered with some emulsifier added to batter.sweet sour sauce was sort of vinegar overdosed ketchup. Not suggested place.

Had a nice takeaway from canton very pleasant service but had to wait a bit long they were busy .The food was tasty but when took it home got bit cold bit fast wasn't fully warm , but good overall experience.

This place is amazing! The food tastes great and is brilliant value for money, compared to others locally. Will not buy from anywhere else.

Have just eaten a excellant take away from this chinese, flavour of all the dishes was brillant loads of chicken in the special breast curry, the chow mein was wonderful, the sweet and sour chicken had plenty of sauce that came with it, spring rolls are full of taste, snd prawn crackers are really crispy, i would recommend this chinese, value for money and the also do good dinners for 1 or more people

Avoid the beef chow mein. The beef was far too thick and chunky. Cheap and big portions though.

Best 61a in my life. In over 21 years I haven't ordered a thing else of the menu because it tastes so good lol

I always get my chinese take away from here, I have had consistently good food with no complaints. I went here initially as they do some more unusual specialty dishes.

I always use this takeaway when my friends do not, I have not had a bad meal from here and it is always good value. It's never been greasy and they don't skimp on the portions. Love it.

Great food. Not to expensive and hits the spot if you fancy a good Chinese. I especially likes the lemon chicken was very nice. Will order again!
