First time coming to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Everything about this place is excellent. The staff are all really friendly and attentive. We had a mixture of the starters and sushi all which were fantastic. My favourite was probably the duck gyoza. Cocktails were first class , great selection and really well made. Special thanks to Ruby and Asharna who looked after us and made us feel really welcome. Both are a credit to the restaurant. Will definitely come back.

A great experience in a one of restaurant. This place is amazing, the food is authentic Indian food. I’ve tried the fish dishes and the salmon tikka is cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The paneer starters is very nice too, the samosas are unique and much better than you normally get in an Indian restaurant. The curries are superb, Bombay potatoes are so nice. The side dishes are not the same portion size as you would expect, but they are ample for two people and we aren’t big eaters. The cost is reasonable and definitely worth getting the loyalty card. The management are lovely people, they’ve worked hard to maintain a Great restaurant. I like that they are able to explain the history behind the dish and ingredients used to make the dishes so special. They also open Christmas Day, we’ve eaten there on Christmas Day and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed and great food again. One of the best restaurants in Maldon

My son rang the ship to see if we could book a table at very short notice for 6 adults and 2 children. We were told they were busy and had a table in the bar if we would like it which we accepted. We arrived within the hour to a very busy clean pub with a positive atmosphere. All the staff were busy but they made time for everyone. 4 of us had the belly pork which was out of this world. It made my day to be served fresh cabbage with my meal. When the food arrived it looked like a piece of art. So much dedication put into the delivery of each meal. Everyone's meals were outstanding. It is without a doubt the best meal I have ever eaten out. Yes we will most certainly be returning. Thank you for our meals.

Really good food and friendly people. We always frequent this place when we visit sea palling. I can HIGHLY recommend the hot doughnut sundae

Very disappointing! Read all the reviews about it being up for an award. I had such high hopes for this restaurant but sadly it was very disappointing. Food was very mediocre, & expensive for what we ordered. Back to my local Indian which sad to say is far better.

The staff is nice and friendy, and the cake is delicious 😋 . The place is very nice and comfy, I enjoyed my coffee and cakes there every time.

Greeted by 3 very happy and friendly ladies. Ordered a Latte and sausage roll which was heated for me and bought to my table. Coffee was lovely and the sausage roll very tasty.Will be back to try one of the cakes which looked yummy.

The food was overall quite tasty. The only problems were the masala chai which was incredibly tiny and still quite pricey, and the incredibly greasy poppadoms. The service was incredibly slow and we got the chai after all the other food, we had to get another drink while we waited. The thing is, there was no one else there. It felt dangerously cluttered and messy, to the point where it could seriously jeopardise any chance of a decent hygiene rating. The place is awaiting hygiene ratings but I suspect it will get a 3 or below. There was obstructing clutter towards the toilets and the front of the house was quite cluttered too. There was also a random old stove next to one of the tables. It did not feel appetising or clean and eating here felt worrying because of the dangerous clutter and mess. The kitchen did not look particularly unsanitary however. It's not a very nice atmosphere to sit amongst this. The staff were quite friendly though.

The food is wonderful! On Google Maps it is still listed as Common Ground. Since Melissa took over, it has been called The Cake Shack. The space is cosy but there is outdoor seating for warmer days or you have your dog with you.

I’ve normally never had any problems with ordering from here but today our food turned up and the bag was ripped at the bottom and the chips were on show we asked delivery driver what has happened and he said the restaurant gave it to him like that.

Found this little gem whilst we was shopping parked in car park. Tried tarts/donuts and got some fresh crusty rolls didnt disappoint

A really fantastic little stall that long established & sells the freshest seafood ever! The crab sandwiches & the mussels that we bought were absolutely delicious. So nice to see that these local, traditional stalls still exist at seaside towns.
