Nouvellè Lounge in St Albans

6 of us chose to eat here for a change, my first time. The flavour of the food was excellent, we all enjoyed our dishes. I would of liked to have seen more chicken on my plate though, and I thought the portion wasn't quite big enough. The young waiter was over efficient, and I found his calling us all young man to be a little condescending. It was also difficult to get his attention for more drinks once our main course had arrived. I thought the service was average and was disappointed to be charged a service charge. This should be discretionary, but most restaurants apply this these days. Overall, the food was very tasty, but there are equally good Indian restaurants in town.

Food good but not exceptional, although we have visited 3 times since it opened. Service generally ok but very disappointed to be charged £7 (plus service charge) for a wine glass that was accidentally broken (knocked over while replacing a menu set between the glasses in the centre of the table)! In my many years of dining out I have never heard of such a charge being made for an accidental breakage and neither have any of my friends. The bill was not checked at the time and the charge was only discovered later. As I result I have found it difficult to bring myself to visit again - and several of my friends have also found it to be completely unacceptable and declared that they will not visit.

This was my third visit to this restaurant, and each one has been excellent. What really stands out for me is the quality of the food, which I have always found to be fresh and tasty - not that emulsified gloop you sometimes come across. The poppadums and naan bread were freshly made, and the keema naan in particular was excellent, as were the lamb chops starter, lamb rib starter and the Bombay shaslick. Service was polite and smart. Highly recommended. Worked out at £50 per head for two side plate filled courses, poppadums and drinks.

Delicious & tasty food. I ordered two different salmon dishes, melted in your mouth. Cocktails were great and the mini Prosecco bottles are great. The interior and decor is stunning plus side for me wasThe staff, they are very attentive and welcoming, such a lovely, I look forward to returning very soon.

2nd visit as was really impressed the first time . Service was really slow and took over 1 and a half hours to get main meal.( we had no starters)We asked what was the delay and we’re told that the Tandor oven had shut off but staff could have told us delay when we ordered. Although staff are friendly they need a little more awareness as trying to get their attention was quite difficult . That said the food was first class

I went here last night with my daughter and we had a great meal. The restaurant was modern clean and relaxing. The food was really fresh and well delivered The staff were friendly and extremely helpful we will be returning. I have had a takeaway from here a couple of weeks ago and it was the same quality and piping hot

The food here is really delicious, the menu is not too extensive but with plenty of choice, with some interesting signature dishes. The decor is attractive and very different to the usual Indian restaurant. Restaurant, toilets and staff all clean - always a bonus! Pretty good value, we had main course with rice, naan, etc plus a half dozen pints and this came to around £33 per head Inc. Service charge (note 10% is added to your bill, worth being aware of) However, Nouvelle Lounge doesn't quite get 5 stars due to the *interesting* customer services. When booking the table I was told they had two settings 6.30 or 8.30. One too early for us one too late. I asked for 7 and was told I could have 7.30. Seemed odd! I will add staff all really friendly and food served promptly but the issue we had was getting staffs attention for anything else, we had to ask 3 times for a bottle of water, this arrived with 2 glasses so we asked for 2 more (4 of us) this was request also had to be repeated. The same problem happened when ordering beers. Then when we had our food we were asked 4 times if our food was OK! What was really odd was a waiter telling us they had been nominated for restaurant of the year with the council, could he take our emails to submit votes for us! We will go back as the food was good and to be fair the service relaxed and we were not hurried at any point, the last to leave yet no clearing up around us! So if you're happy with the very laid back service to eat good food at a mn acceptable price this is the place for you

First occasion ever we visited on Wednesday. Wanted to try a new Indian restaurant. Thank goodness we did! it was a wonderful experience! Lovely ambience. Smartly dressed, friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food. Recommend the Maharaja Lamb Chops, Lamb Tikka Biryani and Kebab Laziz. All washed down with a bottle of Malbec and at the start of the meal two tasty cocktails. Good size food portions and drinks included at very reasonable prices! Staff were very informative. Great parking near by (if driving) and on the outskirts of the city centre in Marshalswick. We will be back!!!!!

Incredible service and food to match! Great value too 👍🏻 During our first visit to this beautifully decorated restaurant, my family and I were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food in terms of flavour and portion sizes! What impressed us more was the knowledge and service of all staff that we encountered during our visit. We could not recommend Nouvelle Lounge enough, and we will definitely be visiting on a regular basis! Can't wait to go back 😀

Amazing food, great portions and superb service - hubby cooks amazing curry so it too is a while to try this but when we did we were so impressed! I couldn’t finish it all so they bagged it up for me.

We were delighted by this new Indian restaurant. The décor is charming, food was excellent, and the service very efficient and friendly. It was hard to choose from the menu; there are so many delicious-sounding dishes. I was determined not to stick with those I knew, and chose purely according to the descriptions. I was not disappointed. My two friends went for favourites, and were similarly very impressed. We thoroughly recommend Nouvelle Lounge.

My second visit to the Nouvelle Lounge with a group of friends. We had an unhurried evening, with good food. The staff were really attentive and friendly and extremely happy to recommend and help with dietary requirements. Not the cheapest Indian restaurant you will ever go to, but the food justifies the price. I will most definitely return

Fabulous evening last Friday for a group of 9 friends. We had two banquettes and everyone said their meal was delicious. The flavours are clean as in it feels like everything is freshly cooked. I ordered the chicken Malai from the signature dishes and it was gorgeous! We also loved the friendly waiters and the great atmosphere. It was a fab night!

Nouvelle Lounge has a lovely atmosphere and decor. The staff are lovely and very accommodating and the food is excellent. This is my 3rd visit in a short space of time and the food has been top notch every time. Highly recommend this restaurant.
