The best restaurants in East of England

Went there for our wedding anniversary dinner.... Fantastic ambience with stunning decor, excellent flavours from all starters and mains we ordered, amazing cocktails, and customer service was top notch.... Will definitely recommend and go back again. The live entertainment was also good.

I don’t visit very often , may be once a month , but when I do visit , I am certainly not disappointed . This morning I had a Bacon and Fried egg sandwich . It was excellent and generously filled with the bacon . The bread had an excellent taste too . The staff are always cheerful and friendly when I visit

Darron the chef is quality and his brother is the best barman I have met. Lovely pub with great atmosphere. Give them both 5*

The most ugly and disgusting restaurant I went there to eat and I saw how the staff put the leftovers from customers back and sold them to the next ones, or how the staff ate from a pot of soup with the spoons directly, for me it is very disgusting, it is not possible something like that and the bathrooms look terrible, brother, how can you take the cream that was at one customer's place and sell it to another customer, for real now or with the other leftovers, you can't do that. I don't go there for the rest of my life. Shame

Our car club have just had our Xmas meal ( We know it's January but always find more relaxed at this time of year). We had the sunday menu, this was very good. Good plentiful and service was very good. We had the back room which accommodated our AGM, raffle and prize giving. Would like to thank all the staff for an enjoyable afternoon. This place is well worth a visit for Sunday lunch. 2 courses £12, 3 courses £15.

Very good service I had the chicken burger who was the best burger ever. I recommend it to anyone Just visit on Friday for the karaoke night and have some drinks

Good music , nice folks and the Gin!

Visiting the area for the weekend. Saw someone walk past with a bag of food and thought why not. Price on a par with everywhere else. Portions reasonable, everything cooked well and presented ok. Shop was dated but not going to review the decor. Staff friendly and quickly organised. I would go back if in the area.

Excellent service, although small menu covered everything, did have a specials board nothing on there, but we went mid week. All meals freshly prepared and fresh. I did ask for extras which although not on the menu they accommodated. Fantastic food Good atmosphere, has facility for restaurant to be separated from bar area, hope this is done at busy times. Fantastic thank you

A bit less pretentious and showy than places in the square but good basic fare at reasonable prices. Great coffee. Bacon roll is colossal. Fab doughnuts. Can't really understand the reviews that say the staff are poorly trained or unfriendly. They aren't gushy or have-a-nice-day ish but I go in regularly and find them welcoming and helpful. Very good WiFi as well.

Lovely gelato and great flavours between both shops (Letchworth and Hitchin)

Visited SALT sandwich bar and enjoyed two lovely sandwiches, a side salad, crisps, and drinks. The food was delightful, but the service was a bit slow. On both occasions, the manager or owner appeared quite stressed. Despite that, it's a good place with a stunning interior.

Was welcomed by a lovely polite and attentive member of staff. Tables nice and clean. Ordered an egg sandwich which came in lovely fresh granary bread and a fresh side salad. Will definitely go back.

The food here is always amazing, with attentive service and a great atmosphere!! I definitely recommend to anyone that hasn’t tried it yet!

We have just returned from a delicious lunch at the Saddle. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious.We had fish and chips and steak and chips.The fish was delicious lovely crispy batter and the steak was very well cooked. The chips were also delicious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was not busy which is a shame as the pub offered real value for money in a friendly environment.We will certainly return. Thank you .
