Experiencia edificante!
Ahh the Wheatsheaf the jewel in the village of Dallingtons crown, where better to spend a sun kissed evening with a few libations, a moment to be cherished indeed, gazing into a loved one’s eyes whilst enjoying a cask conditioned ale, dog friendly and may I say our four legged friends seemed enchanted with the traditional surroundings, pink and red lipsticks all over the gaff, the food when available will leave your tastebuds vociferous in an audible joy, this pub can truly be described as the golden bauble on a well decorated Christmas tree, there are not enough superlatives in the English vocabulary to truly describe the pleasure I receive from showing my patronage to this fine establishment, the excitement I feel as I enter the premises can be likened to an astronaut leaving the earth’s atmosphere after taking off from a launchpad in Cape Canaveral, a true delight indeed, precious moments spent in the company of squires, to the Wheatsheaf I salute you with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face!!!!
My friend and I visited here for a late lunch after problems with traffic locally. The staff were helpful and explained the kitchen was closing soon so to order quickly. The lady recommended mushrooms on toast with a crispy egg..which we both decided to have. We were shocked at the extortionate price as for two coffees and two of the dish cost us £33.75 ! As my friend and I take it in turns to pay I felt guilty at the cost and offered to pay half but she wouldn’t hear of it .After the food came which was very nice, one slice of toast with mushrooms and a boiled egg in a crispy coating… I offered to buy us another cup of coffee and a cake as I was still reeling from her paying so much. We ordered the coffee and my friend had a custard slice and I had a piece of chocolate mud cake which came to £16.85! Although it was nice food it was so expensive we definitely won’t be returning and everyone we have spoken to have said they avoid it because of the prices.

I visit this café a couple of times a week for filled rolls or salads for a disabled friend of mine who is housebound. The quality of the food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I usually telephone and order in advance and the food is invariably ready on time. The staff are very friendly. I thoroughly recommend this café
I went to this shop with my partner as he wanted a breakfast roll. I had no idea what to have but with the help of the fantastic lady serving I had the bestciabatta sandwich I've ever had. The bread was perfect, packed with filling. Wr also bought a slice of ginger & toffee cake. The flavours were amazing. If you have the opportunity to use this deli on your travels, you won't be disappointed. Its a small deli filled with everything from chai seeds to sausage rolls.
Stayed one night, the hotel is excellent and charming in an elegant stylish way, old fashioned attention to detail with a friendly atmosphere goes a long way. The breakfast is outstanding, again the attention to detail is second to none. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area. Thank you
The curry was too watery for us and tasted pretty bland, and was cold.
The chicken was really dry too. I also thought it was overpriced (charging the same price for lamb and chicken tikka when lamb is a lot more expensive).
We won’t be using them again.
2 plain hot chocolates £6 not even that good and in small cups. Go up the beach to bucket and spade 2 hot chocolates £3.40 in large cups beautiful you will enjoy them .
Open mike poetry. Sunday chill out over a bottle of wine with nice company. We visit thos place when we are visiting from London. We will be there again this Sunday.
The food is great, but don't expect anything too fancy. Good old fashioned Portuguese menu. The only issue is, service is very slow and the food took a long time to come out. But we can forgive that because the atmosphere and food is so good.
Disappointing, wanted to try here for awhile after it was recommended by friends , chips were under cooked and looked white , fish fell to pieces when you tried to pick it up, peas were ok . On a plus side the staff were lovely and it looked cleaned but we took away .
Awesome... I really have been there, done that, from a dollar street banquet to Shimla pinks, I didn't think I was going to get a great spicy, risky hot meal when I moved here.
If you want something mild, this is the place, if you want to cry and sweat in pain (or just clear your hay fever) just let them know,
great staff, great cooks.
Simple - its great, fresh and - great. doesn't need to be anything else, great is perfect.
