CURRY ROYAL in Charnwood

The curry was too watery for us and tasted pretty bland, and was cold. The chicken was really dry too. I also thought it was overpriced (charging the same price for lamb and chicken tikka when lamb is a lot more expensive). We won’t be using them again.

First time order, definitely won't be the last! Beautiful meals, generous portions and free items included! Easy to order and pay online, quick friendly delivery, definitely recommend! Thank you 😊

Curry Royal has been my go to place for takeaway curry in Loughborough for many years and they have never let me down. The prices are very good for what you get and they are happy to change what's on the menu as they cook to order. I would recommend to anyone

Been loyal for 15 years but tonight we had a shock, they've stopped doing the lovely homemade chunky chips and replaced them with frozen pre cut. Food was nice apart from the nan bread looking an odd colour in places but we won't be ordering again. 40% price increase over the last year or 2 and cutting corners is a big no no for us.

We have been using this takeaway for over 30 years and have noticed that since the son has taken over the standards have gone down dramatically, tonight is the final straw, uncooked cold naan bread and a chicken madras that can only be described as a runny chicken soup with no taste whatsoever, no spice or flavour. We won’t be using Curry Royal again.

I don’t know whether this has changed hands but it’s gone down hill. The naan wasn’t cooked and raw dough in places and the chicken tikka masala just wasn’t.

Food is normally excellent but quite a few times the food has turned up wrong or too early and has spoiled by the time I'm ready for it.

I ordered a takeaway from this place, and was impressed with the quality. I ordered a lamb tika masala, large portion of chili paneer, keema naan bread, and some poppadums. The food was spot on, decent portion sizes, beautifully seasoned, and arrived piping hot. It's a proper 'old school' Indian takeaway, and tastes like it should; there's no pretentious garnish or watery sauces. The price was very fair as well-£4 cheaper than Ryans for a takeaway. They use the proper takeaway containers as well, not that plastic rubbish, which I feel improves the flavour of the food. I was very impressed with Curry Royal, and will be using their services in the future.

Being in Loughborough, we are rather spoilt for choice on the takeaway front - yet despite all the choice, we return to Curry Royal time and time again. The food is always fresh and perfectly cooked, and to top it off the service is outstanding. We recently ordered a takeaway for collection. My husband brought it home to realise that half of it was missing. I literally had the phone in my hand and was about to call them when someone knocked on the door - it was Curry Royal! They had recognised our name, realised that we occasionally had delivery and remembered where we lived. I was chuffed to bits!!

The food I get from Curry Royal is always delicious from the starters to the mains and the side dishes and sundries. The Park Road location is on my way home from work and I often order ahead and pick it up on the way - you can park right in front of the door! They've never let me down, would highly recommend.

I’ve been using Curry Royal for about a year now. My sister came over from the states and fancied a curry. I did a google search and this place was the nearest to us and had good reviews. We weren’t disappointed and now we’re regulars. The food is superb, always ready on time and hot. Service and friendliness of the owners is super. Highly recommended!

Don’t waste you time and money going anywhere else. THIS is the best Indian takeaway around. If we go to friends houses and have food from their preferred takeaway it never EVER even gets close to how good Curry Royal is. If you want tasty hot amazing food this is the place for you. What are you waiting for. No card payments though so take cash but so so worth it.

I’ve used curry royal for over 15 years. I’ve tried a couple of others in the town, but none compare to this place. Great menu, good prices, gorgeous well cooked food, and very friendly staff... perfect!

Clean tidy place, staff very pleasant but they don't take card payments, in 2017 I ask myself why not?.. I ordered a prawn dansak to take back to my hotel, was given a poppadom with spiced onion's free of charge. Very nice they were too. Found the curry well too spicy, dansak is usually a mild dish based on pineapple and lentils, of which i got half a slice of pineapple a d no sign of lentils. The curry was also very runny and not what I'd expect from a lentil based dish.

Great Indian Take Away. Very easy to order by phone, will adapt dishes to your liking. Friendly staff. Great Food always freshly cooked to order and ready when stated. Nice touch always include poppadoms and chutney free of charge. Would certainly recommend this Take Away.

The last two times that I ordered tandori chicken masala, the chicken has been undercooked. A shame, this place used to be so good.

Sitio inmejorable. Solía tener mi noche de viernes curry, con mi madre y mi padre de Curry Real cuando solía ser al otro lado de la carretera donde Tesco ahora. Mi pareja y yo todavía este lugar ahora. Son amables, entrega rápida y comida de alta calidad. Incluso poner a un naan en mi orden la semana pasada como no pedir uno y yo normalmente y que se preocuparon de que me había olvidado! Lo absoluta leyendas!!

This is my favourite curry place in Loughborough and I have tried most of them in our town. Great food. They even make specials " out if menu" for you if you ask. Highly recommended!

The best curry in north west leicestershire! The quality is consistent and absolutley delicious. Lovely fresh ingredients and lovely decent spicyness. Not toned down for Brit palettes!

After we were let down by Indian Ocean, Curry Royal saved the day, with a fast delivery and a great set meal for two. I recommend these guys for a great take-away.

The only thing that let this takeaway down is its cash only and I only had my card.Ordered my food and nipped to a cashpoint, food was ready when I returned.Really enjoyed it, tasty and well cooked, good portion size and piping hot.Complimentary Poppadom and pot of salad were lovely and much appreciated.Sort the card payments and this would get a full 5 stars.

After trying a few other Indian takeaways over the years, nothing will ever compare to this place. It remains to be our family favourite. Although, in my opinion, it is not too cheap, it is worth it and you can really taste the difference between all the different types of meals, which i have often found a struggle with other takeaways.

Fabulous currys and great service. I'm vegi and they make to my preference and what I like which is great. Lovely delivery drivers - always busy!

Myself and my husband have been customers of the Curry Royal for at least 15 years despite no longer living in Loughborough we would rather drive in than go anywhere else. I see the feedback from other reviewers about the staff and have to agree they are very personable. Both the food and the service is superior to anywhere else it wouldnt be the weekend without a visit.

This is the best Indian takeaway we have ever used ( and we have used loads) the staff are always friendly and polite and will make any dish that you want even if it isn't even on the menu. Delivery is always reasonable and on time and the food is always freshly cooked, hot and tasty. Me and my family have been using Curry Royal for years and can’t fault them in anyway.The curry is by far the best I have ever tasted and I can’t actually recommend a certain dish as they are all so delicious.The staff at Curry Royal are always friendly and any dishes that may not be on the menu you can request to the chef.I would defiantly recommend Curry Royal to everyone!!

I ordered for a takeaway and the food was provided in a vegetable box. When I questioned about carrier bags staff was extremely rude and asked me to go to a different restaurent.

If you ever want to have an indian take out meal. Make sure that you order from Curry Royal!! A real gem and top notch food. You get your food just how you ask for it!!

This place is takeaway and delivery only. I have had takeaways from quite a few other places but this is by a mile the best place I've ever had a takeaway from. The staff are very friendly and articulate and the food as I e already said is amazing. GO AND TRY FOR YOURSELF.

Curry Royal has to be the best Indian takeaway in Loughborough. The meal was ready exactly on time as promised. The guy taking the order was very pleasent and knowledgable on the dishes offered. All the food was tasty and at the "strength" as advertised. The 2 free poppadums were an unexpected surprise.

Although not a regular customer, I have used Curry Royal for many years - most recently last week. to begin the service was top notch. Before I started my order I was warned that there was unusually high demand, meaning an hour and 30mins wait for delivery, and to their credit the estimate was spot on - I take a long wait as a sign of a popular restaurant. The man who took my order was extremely helpful (and patient) as he described each potential dish in detail and answered my many questions. Now to the serious stuff - the food. Every dish, excellent. Not too spicy, lots of subtle flavours, generous portions. I ordered 2 mains, 3 sides, not to mention the mandatory naans and rice. I'd forgotten how good this place is...enjoy.

Got the meal for 2 'B', little bit too much sugar but that is to be expected from most UK takeaways. Food is good quality, not too spicy and plentiflul. Tried a number of indians around Loughborough throughout the years but always fall back on a Royal. Don't get me wrong though, it's well worth heading to leicster to do it properly.

I have been a customer of the Curry Royal for 26 years now, I know all the staff personally i am a truck driver & have just about eaten takeaway curries from proberly 60/70 % of indian takeaways in U.k yes that includes Scotland. wales & N/ireland.I can honestly say that the Curry Royal is without doubt & has always been the best i have ever had the privelage to order from, The quality of food never falters from the best i have ever eaten, Abdul & all the staff are a pleasure & joy to know who will go out there way to make sure that your meal is the best in Bangladeshi cuisine made to your own personnal liking & will even cook whatever you desire even if it's not on the menu, guys can't raise you enough..All the best, Ned.

I have tried many Indian Takeaway's in Loughborough but this one is by far the best! Very friendly and helpful staff who are always willing to to cook your order as requested. Excellent food, I would highly recommend it.

My family and I have used Curry Royal for many years, and they have never failed in producing top quality food at all times. The Staff are always helpful and will always go out their way to cook curry to exactly your liking and are excellent at keeping this standard up where others fall to the wayside. Although Curry Royal is only a take away it seems this is best suited as it means that they specialise in making successful quality food to take away.
