Really nice place although I was put off straight away after reading that tips should be paid for in advance! I was always led to believe that tips are given after a good service by the waiting staff has been provided? The breakfast was very nice although I found the whole thing way too salty, even seeing the chunky crystals of salt on the hash brown, (they were big Crystals!) my friend also couldn’t eat the homemade beans as there was too much pepper in them for her. I thought it was just me being fussy but I had to drink several glasses of water throughout the day, so I know it wasn’t me! Parking is very difficult if you are coming from a different village. It was a pleasant place and we don’t mind paying that bit extra for good quality but it seems they are trying too hard. Speaking of hard, I would suggest getting some seat cushions for the hard seats as we all said the same thing about the seats, a bit too hard after half an hour! Sorry but we won’t be returning. I didn’t “leave a review while doing a poo” either, not the best sign to look at when you visit the bathroom! Sorry to be a boring middle aged person!

Excellent food. Tried the whipped feta with tomatoes - superb. My mum ordered the full veggie whilst dad ordered the cheese and kimchi sandwich- we were a bit dubious about that one, but he wiped his plate clean. Fantastic atmosphere. Parking can be an issue during busy times.

Very original menu and great quality food. Read a review of a customer calling it a “greasy spoon”; couldn’t be further from the truth! The service can be a bit hit and miss but love it there!

Same gripes as the others. Bizarre having to pay £2 to take something off the menu and to tip when you order, having not eaten or had anyone serve you. So you get penalised for having dietary restrictions and for having less food!! Food is great but the customer service misses the spot. I think they need to be abit more flexible especially as the competition in mountsorrel is growing.

Unbelievable that if you want to take an item out of the menu/substitute/change you are charged a surcharge of £2!!!! Literally wanted to swap brown sauce for ketchup and they insisted there would be a charge for that as it would stress the chefs out!!!! Never know. Anything like it

By the time this place had secured itself as a frequent Saturday morning fixture for me, its hash browns had become the latest victim of shrinkflation. Please return the hash browns to their former glory!

First of all, the food was great and some of the best breakfast (and coffee) we have had. Only gripe is the bizzare Americanised system when paying where you select a tip amount.. having just returned from New York these were everywhere but not seen one in the UK. Why would you tip someone for taking your order before trying the food and receiving the service? Very awkward and not reading the room as the prices are above average as well. Service was ok albeit slow as it was very busy so as to be expected. Would return as food very good. My recommendation would be to get rid of the tip screen when paying and let the customer decide if they want to leave a tip after they have experienced the food and service, not before.

This place is quality, however, it’s on the pricey side, so I see visiting as a treat. All the coffee and food are quality, although our last two visits have been disappointing due to the wait time for forgotten items and having to remind staff. Sadly twice burnt and I won’t be back, or recommending it to the group. What takes the biscuit is asking for a tip on ordering! Farmers Den is literally round the corner and also quality and a decent alternative.

Visit here Saturday morning. Welcomed with a friendly smile. Found a table upstairs. Looked at the menu and went down to the counter to order. 3x white coffees 1x breakfast cob 1x mystery cob which was scrambled eggs gfs and smoked salmon. 1x veggie breakfast All came presented beautifully. Food was very tasty and fresh.

Great place for a coffee and breakfast. It a cosy place and due to popularity you need to get in early to secure a table but there is plenty of churn so tables soon become free. There is some outside tables and parking is available at the back for a couple of cars but there is normally spaces on the road outside.

Superb food, that's what I come for. Exemplary presentation and the best tastes and textures. The only thing I'm not keen on here is the art on the walls. But then I'm an artist, I'm always aware of what art is in walls. Some first class photos of the food on sale would so much more stimulating.

Outstanding - food, beverages, atmosphere and service. Seating and tables inside and outside. Car park at the rear.

Another incredible experience. Without doubt the best place for breakfast or brunch in Leicestershire. Happily driving nearly 40 mins for this!

Visiting the area and went twice this week. Cappuccino was really disappointing. Despite extra shots, still very milky and lacked any depth. Almond croissants was nice, pecan sticky bun was dry. General atmosphere was aloof, a little pretentious, music too loud. Going in search of a better coffee…

Had this place recommended by a friend, it was fabulous. I had the full english (to share) which was superb. I thought it was a smallish portion until I started eating it. Everything was top quality and the quantity was perfect. I will definitely have this again. My husband had one of their spectacular sausage rolls. A great place for breakfast/brunch/lunch/afternoon tea and takeaway. Will be visiting again soon

Terrible service - pompous & pretentious. Avoid at all costs. Asked for a bacon sandwich - apparently stopped serving them at 11 - it was too much trouble to make one - although they included a full english?!? On the menu. Very pricey for what is only a (very) greasy spoon cafe

Use this place regularly for breakfast and lunch and it is superb. Great food and friendly staff. Try the sharing board, it’s wonderful and amazing to see the chef explain each homemade item with passion.

Absolutely incredible breakfast! A real hidden gem! Vegetarian breakfast is like a fine dining breaky, full of flavour and textures and I cannot recommend it enough!
