I like proper bread from a proper Bakers so this is great .Good choice of loaf and they also slice it for you.Loads of lovely cakes and they also do filled rolls with plenty of choice of filling some hot.The shop is generally busy but only to be expected as it's popular.Im not the only person who likes proper bread.Chiller cabinet for drinks .

It is highly recommended. I regularly order from them. I like waffles, cookie dough, freshly brewed mocktails, milkshakes, coffee, and more. I have tasted everything and am very satisfied with the service, quality, and quantity. Price is reasonable too.

Cod, chips & mushy peas.
Tried this place for the 1st time for a Fish n Chips Friday based on the reviews.
The Service was good & the people around were smiley & friendly.
Sadly the chips were a little chewy, maybe the oil was getting old, who knows. 🤔
Can't be sure l if the fish I got was even a cod. The batter was OK but the fish itself didn't have the texture or taste of a Cod and felt as fresh as as snotty hanky
Best part of the meal were the bright green mushy peas.
Had an excellent Sunday lunch, Pork with stuffing, apple sauce, roast potatoes and Yorkshire, separate dish of veg, extra gravy. It was really delicious. Such a shame that the pub is closing at the end of the month as no-one will take over the lease. Have been going to this pub for over 40 years, had many family get togethers here & my father who lives in the village will really miss his fish & chips.
Hopefully someone will take it over before too long.
Rang up and ordered a takeaway and was told at the end of my order that they had run out of prawn crackers😳 Collected my order at the allotted time and drove home, approximately 5mins. I opened the bag and the food had leaked all over. The packaging has changed to cardboard boxes which don’t seal. I plated the food up and it looked very different to the usual dishes and the portions were much smaller than usual. I started to eat and the food was cold. I tried to ring the restaurant but it was engaged. I decided to microwave the food and started eating. The red thai curry didn’t taste like it normally does and it consisted of 8 pieces of chicken, 3 small pieces of red pepper, 1 slice of mushroom and copious amounts of bamboo shoots, they made up 90% of the dish. I also had a chicken pad thai which was a much smaller portion and tasted very bitter. The food was average to say the least and nowhere near the normal standard and quality I have grown to love from this restaurant. I ate a few mouthfuls and left the rest. The reason I order a takeaway is because I want a good quality meal cooked by a professional chef who has mastered their craft to make my meal the best tasting it can be using the freshest ingredients available and in return make me want to return again and again, unfortunately this was no better than your average packet mix meal. Very Very disappointed. It seems like the restaurant is trying to cut costs with the new packaging, the bamboo shoot fillers and the much smaller portions. It’s resulting loosing me as a customer as I will no longer be ordering from the Siam Orchid again.
I must have been to a million pubs, none like this.
From the outside it look like it’s shut, open the front door and enjoy the warm hospitality great beer and lurchers.
For ale drinkers, no food.
When house hunting in Beeston with our son we stopped off at "Bean" for coffee's and cake to keep us going through the morning. Due to the Covid restrictions it was take-away only and Bean had managed this very well to protect their staff and customers.A very tempting selection of cakes and great coffee. We had 2 cakes, 2 lattes and a mocha and the cost was circa £14. With our son putting an offer in on a house that same afternoon, which was accepted, it seems we will be back to enjoy Bean on a more regular basis!
Had a great night with our friends out in Beeston but thought the food was overpriced for what we had last night. Would have also expected table service when ordering rather than having to go to the bar to do it.
Bought 4 cobs 3 , Bacon sausage and egg and 1 Egg cob £6:20 each for the what they call full house and £5 for an egg cob, tasteless on the smallest cob/ muffin you can imagine, all the eggs burst making it impossible to eat without covering yourself. 4 cobs £24 daylight robbery. Will not return
