Gave this place a try today and wow! Outstanding food and the staff were extremely attentive. Nothing was too much for them. The food was delicious I had, garlic mushrooms to start and they were scrumptious, not the usual breaded rubbish it was fresh mushrooms in a garlic batter with garlic mayonnaise, then I had the homemade lasagne and omg it was delicious, the chef even made a Parmesan crisp to sit over the top, beautifully presented too, fresh crisp salad and ciabatta garlic bread, I didn’t really have room for dessert but I had one anyway haha .. the homemade apple crumble with vanilla bean custard OMG! I loved it. Well done Team Jennings what a fabulous lunch menu and 3 courses for £9… unbelievable value and exceptional food. There were 4 of us and we all agreed that it was definitely the best food in the surrounding areas. We all really enjoyed it and have booked again for next week for 7 of us. .. looking forward to seeing the new menu in August

Went to the Jennings rooms fir their midweek lunch menu , any main only £5 , any starter ONLY £2 and any desert ONLY £2 . So a three course lunch for £9 . Absolutely unbeatable price and quality . Their chips were homemade (just like mum used to make) their fish hand battered on site and the portion size were spot on . It’s an ABSOLUTE must to try their lunch menu

Attended the venue for a 21st birthday party. Despite the Covid restrictions in place, a good time was had by all. The food was excellent, great variety and super tasty - an exciting take on a regular buffet! The bar staff were super helpful with efficient table service and the venue itself is stunning. Emma, the chef and also the venue singer was incredible! Insanely talented and probably one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. My daughter was thrilled to have her photo taken with Emma after her outstanding performance on stage! If you’re looking for a venue for any occasion, this is definitely the place!

These girls deserve a medal. They have had to diversify due to the pandemic and have made a fantastic job of it. Pull out all the stops to keep the wheels moving.We had our Sunday roast and desert, cooked and delivered to our door. The food was plentiful, hot and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be ordering again and suggest if you haven't yet you do the same.

I have been told how amazing the food is at the Jennings Room . So after several months I decided to give it a try. I called today and reserved two sunday roast beef dinners. I was helped by Emma over the phone very professional and explained how it worked. I collected our roast dinners. They were really hot and was really impressed with the dinner. Great portions and the gravy was awesome. Will definitely order again and will recommend to all my friends. You did yourself proud. Thank you.

Just popped in for a bite to eat . Absolutely fantastic!! We both had a steak. So juicy and cooked to perfection. The whole meal was 5 star . Staff were very friendly . Will definitely be going back !!

We’ve eaten at the Jennings Rooms a few times now to support our local businesses and the food is excellent. Staff very friendly (and dog friendly), nice location, good parking. Really good selection on the menu - all decent good quality food - and all fairly priced! 5 stars for a lovely local restaurant

Went to go and try this place for lunch. Personally don’t recommend and wouldn’t rush back any time soon. The steak pie was a bought in gravy pie along with a frozen burger. The afternoon teas were okay but again was all bought in cream cakes just cut in half. For £15 per person I expect something a bit better. Got the impression very little effort is made in the kitchen and the prices are too high considering this! Service was really good though and friendly staff :) Won’t be returning I’m afraid

Ordered a home delivery VE Day afternoon tea for 2. Was delivered exactly on time and was amazing! Great variety of finger sandwiches with garnish and a lovely selection of scones and cakes. My daughter and I have been in isolation for 7 weeks and this was an absolute treat. Quality was faultless and presentation first class. Would highly recommend and will be ordering again once I can share with friends and family.

I’m really sorry but the roast was vial, all 4 meals incorrect, freezing cold, beef burnt, rock hard spuds, yorkies like bullets , no stuffing on kids plates. I ended up splitting my dinner between my kids cause they were given things I specially asked themNot to have so now I’m starving. Was so looking forward to it and a break from cooking and washing up. Myself and husband work fore the nhs and just wanted a treat. Such a disappointment

Due to the corona virus we were unable to visit the Jennings rooms for Mother’s Day however the Jennings rooms didn’t let us down they delivered their food to my home, the turkey roast dinner was delicious, they helped make a lonely Mother’s Day a special one. Thank you to you all at the Jennings rooms.

Have visited for 3 Sunday Lunches and been to two functions here. The food is lovely, all homemade and fresh. The buffets for both functions were really nice and plentiful. We have also had Sunday Lunch delivered, presented really well (lovely attention to detail, like the gravy delivered in a thermal cup) the food was warm enough to eat without reheating. Would definitely recommend.

Been twice now and have had a fantastic time on both occasions. Friendly staff who look after you very well and make sure you have everything you need. Great atmosphere too

We had a very nice carvery with a great choice of food which was tasty and hot. They looked after my wife’s lactose intolerance very well.

We had The Jennings rooms 'Cotton' wedding package on the 5th October 2019. Emma, Rebecca and the team were outstanding. From the moment I booked this nothing was to much for them. They catered for my every need and any questions I had they helped at every turn. On my big day the service was outstanding , the room looked beautiful !As for the food ... every single guest commented on how delicious it was. The buffet at night time , I've never had a buffet like it , outstanding. If you want top quality and a day to remember then this is your go to venue. Keep up the good work guys your fantastic.

Mum and Dad had 50th wedding Anniversary here. Three course meal with choice of meats and they also catered for a vegan family member at short notice. Very friendly welcoming place loved it x

Our experience of the Jennings rooms is EXCELLENT. We have been for Sunday lunch numerous times which is beautiful and also numerous events, which have been fantastic. We have future events booked and cannot wait. I can’t recommend enough. I will also leave this opinion/review on trip advisor xxx

We arrived without booking and the owners were very accommodating finding us a table and continued to be friendly throughout our visit. We opted for the toasted sandwiches which were superb. Food looked great and tasted delicious.

Attended a few entertainment nights and also eaten here on a few occasions. Emma,Rebecca and their staff are absolutely amazing. They can’t do enough for you and have done a brilliant job getting the place going from scratch. The entertainment night’s are fantastic. Emma has he most amazing voice and is a brilliant entertainer in her own right.The food is top quality and reasonably priced. This venue is just what we need in the area. I continue to try different places for a Sunday lunch and always end up back at TJR. The food is fantastic. Always plenty of food to choose from and if it’s not quite ready, I’m more than happy to wait and have a fresh piping hot meal. This is the same with every carvery restaurant, food goes, fresh food comes out. So I’m not sure what the problem is. A selection of perfectly cooked meats accompanied with the best selection of vegetables, potatoes, homemade Yorkshire pudding etc... I can not fault it! The delivery service is going to be lethal for me!!!I have been for other meals here too, and always had a lovely experience.I hope you continue to grow in all that you do and your business continues to go from strength to strength! After reading the last few reviews i thought I’d better write a review.I don’t know what or where they went too but it definitely wasn’t the Jennings rooms as I have been twice now with the family in the last month. Excellent food and service not overcrowded plenty of space and the carvery has always been outstanding. No queuing for the carvery you are called upon when it’s your turn. Don’t read into everyone else’s reviews go and make your own mind up.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! Say the least The room did not give ambience ... Walked in eventually the chef appeared Showed us where to go Disappointed at table decor nothing to welcome a new bride and Groom This was pre booked and was confirmed what the occasion was about and 6-8 people. so I would of catered for 8 people myself , but to be told by a professional chef I haven’t baked enough and have to cut the scones in half can stretch quiche I catered for 6 people , but they knew 7 where attending ???? We were all sitting chatting for ages no one attended to us there was no soft music playing we were just plonked . I went to the kitchen door to ask for some drinks tea and coffee we waited at least 15 minutes later chef walks in with tea pots and coffee jugs At £14.95 per person I expect food on the tea stands and replenished there was not enough food to go around I was so embarrassed as I wanted a very pleasant treat for everyone To justify bill of £120:00 there was no way enough food on our table (Seems they run out on the Sunday Calvary too on the reviews these people get )Will the chef note cutting food to stretch does not work and is very noticeable to people and people will not return due to your poor catering and management skills !!!

Disappointed was an understatement! Arrived promptly having booked the table for 4 people for 1.30pm the week before. It began so well as our drinks order was taken and then brought to the table. We were then asked if we were ready to order and we all said we’d like the carvery. The waitress then asked us to go and help ourselves in the room next door. There was barely anything to choose from. The cook rushed out to apologise and say that they had had some walk ins and so that’s why they were running low on food. We had booked! They knew we were coming! One of our party never even bothered to salvage enough food to try and eat. We’ve since read on FB that they had started to do a carvery delivery service that day. The cook never mentioned this to us! That would explain why there was no carvery left for us! In fairness we only paid a minimal amount because of the shambles but really shouldn’t have paid a penny. Such a shame but perhaps they are taking on more than they can actually cope with!

Booked a table for 1.30pm for Sunday carvery. Arrived, ordered drinks & 4 carveries. Was told to go straight up to get food. Unfortunately there were no roast potatoes ready, had to wait for Yorkshire puds to come out & mashed potatoes & rest of veg were nearly empty. Asked if these could be refilled, but was told they also weren’t quite ready! I don’t like mash, so had to eat my dinner without any potatoes. My husband didn’t even bother having a meal as there was not enough food ready for him to eat! They did bring some veg to the table, but this was not cooked enough & when it was finally ready, we’d finished eating. This is such a shame as what I did eat tasted lovely & home cooked, but you cannot take bookings & not have food ready. They did give us what we had for next to nothing in fairness but this is not the point. I would rather have been offered a free drink & been asked to wait until the carvery was fully restocked than be offered half a meal. Such a shame.

Me and my mum came here for Sunday lunch today. The food was very tasty and cooked really well! We also had a honeycomb cheesecake which was so nice! The venue itself is very nice and would be perfect for any parties/weddings etc!! Would highly recommend!

We came her for a lovely freshly made roast dinner today,beef, gammon,Turkey with fresh veg and amazing yorkies and roast potatoes...

It’s hard to know where to start when writing this review because I’m not sure any words will do it justice!!! From start to finish the Jennings room was faultless!!! Amazing food - gluten free option fabulous which is often a stumbling block when going out with our friend at other places.. handmade bread etc was to die for. I asked to use some of my own crockery as we’d made things on our travels and Emma was amazing with this and used various items in various ways to carry our theme through. The venue was dressed impeccably, nothing was too much trouble when I asked to dress the tables for a personalised look, they were amazing and allowed us time to do so. The bar was well stocked and prices good, always a good point when planning a party. The staff were so good, nothing was too much trouble even tho they were a man/woman down on the night they were fast and efficient and friendly. The music and vocals were outstanding!!!! Emma has a voice that makes your hair stand on end, truly beautiful and her wit and humour keeps a party going, we started our party at 4:30 and finished at 12 and she did not falter!!! Behind every good woman is another great woman here and the pair just seem to get what makes a party a success!!!Everyone at our party asked for a repeat performance next year it was that good of a night!!! The Jennings room is a must see to appreciate the true beauty of what’s lies behind the door on high street!! There is also a garden area and this is a good breakout area for those needing it!! Amazing parking facilities too, but leave the car at home and make the most of the amazing Jennings room.

So many memories made on such a special night – 22nd June 2019. Thank you to Emma and Rebecca for making the process of booking and planning the menu so easy. The choices of food available was extensive, but we managed to whittle it down – including a veggie option. The presentation of the food, excellent. When we booked, the room wasn’t dressed, so upon arrival it was breath taking. The finite details of the music that complemented us and our guests allowed us all to all let our hair down and thoroughly enjoy our reception. Drinks flowed all night as a very reasonable price, and Emma’s vocal sets were flawless. Both Rebecca’s and Emma’s hard work has made the Jennings Room THE place to have your wedding reception, and we would like to thank you for giving us the place to make so many special memories.

Wow, wow, wow! Called in for a carvery but they had been that busy they'd ran out! So I opted for Mushroom Chicken - what a winner! Succulent chicken breast on a bed of rice with green beans, carrots, baby corn, tomatoes and the creamiest most tasty mushroom sauce I've ever tasted It's an absolute must if you visit -you will not be disappointed! Because I'm a bloater I also had a pudding lol and OMG Honeycomb chocolate cheesecake is heaven on a plate! I opted for pouring cream and I could've sat and ate it all day long it was divine - all homemade and utterly delicious, Thank you to The Jenning's Rooms for super friedly service and their new beer garden is lovely, we will definitely be back!

I am working in the area and a friend and I came across the No 33 Restaurant that now opens in the evenings during the week.The restaurant is beautifully decorated and I understand why weddings are popular here.The chef, and owner, catered to our specific needs and the food was the best I have eaten in a long time and the presentation was fabulous. This is a family run business and I wish them all the best as they expand there opening hours to cater for a complete range of diners. I hope I have to come and work in Burton again so that I can revisit to taste their new Al a carte options.

My best friends had their wedding reception here in June and it was fab. The staff were friendly and the buffet was great. Only thing that let it down was that only 1 window opens. So with 80 people in there on a hot day it was sweltering...But apart from that, a great venue with great potential! Thank you so much!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! We have visited this venue several times for lunch and the food just gets better and better, and the Sunday carvery is a must. The owners have now released the date of the opening night for the new evening restaurant No.33, and I for one am very excited to sample the menu, it sounds delicious. Personally I can’t wait to try the sea bass. It’s a little gem the restaurant room is stunning and I’m pleased to say we managed to book a table for the launch night. This is a fabulous little restaurant/function room and venue and they have a great, private beer garden. Parking to the rear and wheelchair accessible. Well done Jennings a credit to you.

Always a great welcome from the girls and the food is delicious , value for money in nice surroundings. The comedy nights are worth a visit.

A private booking for my granddaughters 21st. The owners were extremely helpful and provided an excellent buffet. The barstaff worked well and it was reasonably priced.

My Dad & Linda has their 60th birthday celebration at the Jennings Rooms. Room looked stunning, facilities were spotless, food delicious with lots of choice and a spectacular cheese board that my partner Carl really enjoyed. Emma ‘owner’ wowed us all with her singing talents and kept us entertained for the evening. Great night had by all, I would highly recommend it!

This place is a hidden gem! A beautifully refurbished tea room and a magnificent and elegant function room... I was totally wow wow wow!! Then the food absolutely delicious, all fresh and homemade and the cakes well... I wanted a piece of each one a great and varied selection, I decided on the homemade sticky toffee pudding with cream and berries, the lemon cake looked delicious too, so much so I took two pieces home. Will most certainly visit this place again. Sunday carvery looks smashing too. Another point to make is the entertainment program they have lined up... Went for Sunday lunch at the new refurbished restaurant what a disappointing experience. Yorkshire pudding flat like a saucer, beef over cooked, none discrip mashed potato, veg totally undercooked, roast potato’s were cooked from frozen and it was nearly all cold due to the size of the self serving hatch not being large enough. On a positive note the gravy was hot.

We booked this for our friends baby shower and wasn’t disappointed. We are a rowdy bunch and we basically had the whole room to ourselves.We had afternoon tea and all our fussy dietary requirements In The group were met from veggies to gluten free.We had enough room to play games and laugh.There serve carvery here on a sunday so we were in a separate room which was perfect. Family run business from the lgbt community which I wish you would see more of in Swadlincote.Would recommend thanks guys.

Absolutely amazing New Year’s Eve party, fantastic fresh luxury buffet everything you could think of was on there, best cheese selection I have ever seen. Live entertainment that got the whole room involved, plenty of room for dancing. Thank you to all the staff at the Jennings rooms for all your hard work and for helping to make our evening one to remember.

This is a top place to visit, we have never been and had bad service or food. The owners make you feel comfortable and it is high quality food rather than the usual mass produced rubbish at other places. We have been for a snack, breakfasts, main meals, event nights, Mother’s Day lunch, entertainment and Carvery- and it has always been superb. Just returned from an afternoon tea which I purchased for an extra present for my daughter’s birthday Very disappointed with the afternoon tea, the tea was cold, sandwiches were very small and sparse, the scones were so dry they crumbled when try to spread the butter. The only thing that was enjoyable was the cake which was quite moist and tasty although very thinly sliced. The surroundings were very much like a transport cafe with a smell of greasy food, we did think we would have been sat in the function room as per the photos on the web site. All in all this was a very disappointing experience.

Sunday lunch was delicious. Gluten free options were also available at no extra cost. My husband said the gluten free elements were just as good. Lovely breakfasts, snacks, cakes and main meals. This place serves everything! Lovely venue for casual daytime coffee or an evening out. This is also family driendly and breastfeeding friendly!

Had afternoon tea, all very fresh, delicious home baked cakes and scones. Really yummy used a voucher and so it was a real bargain and a real treat. Service great. Only criticism the chairs need upgrading they look like a bit too functional and not nice enough for a tea room and the outside could be made so much nicer, first impressions count, a few baskets and window boxes would make all the difference to entice people in. Once you get past the exterior it's really nice.

My family and I have just got back from a wedding at The Jennings Rooms, what a fabulous evening! By far the best buffet we have had and the music and entertainment was brilliant. A lovely atmosphere and the venue was beautifully decorated! Well done to all st the Jennings Rooms!

Absolutely love it there ..lovely friendly staff and best of all is the food . The Sunday carvery is to die for .. I’d have Emma full English everyday if I cud. The deserts are all homemade & able to take them home . The function room is so beautiful and tea rooms spotlessly clean . ( my favourite place )

My all time favourite place! Not only is the food mouth watering, but the staff and atmosphere make the experience so much better. I’ve been serveral times now and they’ve never disappointed. The homemade chips are a must have! All food is fresh and if I could I’d have every single dessert they offer. Would highly recommend anyone to visit just so they can experience the greatness theirselves!

I held my birthday party here and the service from the day I requested a quote through to the evening itself was amazing.The quality of the buffet was mentioned by all guests and the room set up was very pretty.Emma is an amazing singer and kept guests of all ages entertained.If you're looking for a decent sized venue, with amazing food and its own bar - don't look anywhere else!

I have visited The Jennings Rooms a few times ! And always had a lovely experience! The tea room is inviting with delicious food & home made cakes to die for ! Make sure you try the chocolate brownie (best I’ve ever tasted) & my husband had the home made coffee cake !! The Sunday Carvery is also a must !! The Jennings Rooms Sunday carvery is. Highly recommended by all our customers. Delicious fresh and homemade.12:30-6pm. A fantastic selection of homemade desserts too from a simple syrup sponge and custard to handmade, filled chocolate spheres.Although busy we never lose the home cooked style and we will never over fill our dining area just to make more money. We also offer the main menu on a Sunday. We only found this place by chance as we had missed breakfast in the accommodation we were staying at down the road and really fancied something to eat. We ordered the large mixed platter and we were not disappointed the food was fab. I was also observing how they put the cream teas together and the execution was impressive, so precise the attention to detail was great. The staff were fantastic, friendly, funny and so accommodating (extensive menu I will add at good prices) and nothing was too much trouble (he had the cocktail - which he loved)

The café is very basic in a lot of respects but clean and tidy. We were here for afternoon tea which was adequate enough. It consisted of a variety of finger sandwiches in brown and white bread with a couple of volovants, two pieces of cake and two scones with jam and cream. There is a choice of a pot of tea or coffee. Pleasant staff and worth a visit.

Went for an afternoon tea. Lovely food and very well presented. On looking at the menu, there is quite a varied choice from main meals to light snacks at reasonable prices. Restaurant area was light and airy and clean. At the time of writing this review, noted they have a 5 star award for food hygiene also. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They also have a function room for weddings and parties. There is ample free car parking at the rear and wheelchair access also. Well worth a visit - recommended, I'll certainly return, which in itself says a lot..

We have been for lunch, carvery and a New Years party and Emma and Becca always give 100%. The food is always good and as I need a gluten free diet Emma always make sure the food is spot on, Becca always makes you feel very wellcome.When we went o the new years eve party Emma did King Karacticus and I can honestly say it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. My wife and I had a fantastic afternoon tea at the The Jennings' Rooms - excellent varied selection of sandwiches and lovely large slices of Victoria sponge cake and chocolate cake plus scones, strawberry jam and cream. Emma and Rebecca were very friendly and my wife and I wish them all the best in their relatively new venture. We will definitely return when back in the area.

Celebrated my daughters 40th Birthday at the Jennings Rooms last night,excellent party venue,tastefully decorated,high quality presented food ,Rebecca + Emma you deserve every success ,you are very professional hard working + accommodating to personalise your guests needs I will definitely recommend you .

We called in here for coffee and cake on a normal Tuesday afternoon outing. Unfortunately we arrived at 1.45 and the notice informed us they closed at 2.30. We decided just to have a coffee to try out the place and move on to somewhere else. A warm welcome awaited us and were assured they would not throw us at 2.30 so we opted for the cake as well.Lovely cakes and great staff. We were shown the function room which is decked out like a posh marquee and the settings they use for functions. Very impressed with their drive and ambition. Good luck to them in the future. We will definitely go back

We decided as an anniversary treat to book a table at the Jennings rooms in Woodville! When we arrived we were met with very cheerful and happy staff, the food was exceptional! All fresh ! We had the carvery, the meats was so tasty I didn't want to spoil it with the horseradish sauce ! Which was also home made and very tasty ! We were table checked, and by the time we had finished we couldn't manage a dessert, so not wanting to miss out on a home made pudding we ordered two twirl cheese cake to take away, nothing is any trouble, the venue is spotless and clean, We would recommend this place very highly! We will be returning to try out the cream teas ! And more of that fabulous home made food !

Brilliant night a family friendly entertainment venue hosting a variety of public events including karaoke cocktail evenings drag nights and tonight the comedy and music show The Inflations who were amazing talented and extremely funny and family friendly. The venue is licensed and prices are reasonable and there is usually food of some kind available. The Jennings rooms is a bistro during the day with really good quality home cooked food well worth a visit The rooms can be hired as a party venue for children and adults and is a complete package with set up entertainment food and everything you could need An excellent choice for a meal a night out or a special party well worth a look

Had a lovely breakfast and cuppa with a friend when we were out and about in Woodville. Nice bright atmosphere and friendly welcome. Would recommend it to others.

Popped in for some cake while my tyres were being done at quick fit. The ladies are friendly and very accommodating, talking to my son and not treating him like he must sit still and quiet. I love the atmosphere, food and service. I will continue to visit. Especially try one of the many events that are put in of an evening. Keep up the great work guys x

Had breakfast here with my partner as we live in woodville and I had previously visited with friends and told him all about it!The service is incredible. Such a lovely, warm and friendly atmosphere run by people who you can tell are devoted to good customer service!The prices are really good too and we even ended up staying a bit longer for a slice of cake!!

Lovely panini & homemade chips followed by homemade carrot cake. Cannot fault the quality of the food or service.The 2 owners were extremely welcoming & skilled.The function room is tastefully decorated with great expansion plans.My one negative is the extraction is not good so you do leave smelling of chips but I'm sure this is an easy fix for them.Keep up the great work, I hope this business really takes off.

Afternoon lunch with friend after reading facebook reviews was looking forward to my first visit, this is a New business and good luck to the nice, friendly ladies running it.its also got a lovely function room . Although I did enjoy my lunch especially the cadburys cream egg brownie don't think I will return again it's not located in an area I would just be passing and pop in for cuppa after shopping. Also worked out expensive for lunch and the smell of the cooking chips was strong as the kitchen is open to dinners. It is a cafe not a restaurant so my mistake

First visit, won't be our last. What a transformation, from a derelict building into a gorgeous tearooms and function room. Went for lunch today, Tuesday 12 April 2017, with a friend, the food was great, people friendly and such a lovely place to eat. It's only been open a few months and their doing a great job. The tearooms are simply decorated, but with taste, but the function room is a wow. Again very simply done but just superb. If you need a function room in Swadlincote go and have a look you'll definitely book it. If you're looking for somewhere to eat try here. Civilisation has come to Swadlincote!!!!
