Yates Cafe in South Derbyshire

This cafe provided the food for the buffet for a family members 60th wedding anniversary. The choice and qty of products was fantastic. We would like to say a huge thank you so many compliments with lots left over.

Family orientated cafe, well run by the owner Craig Yates. Lovely, well cooked food which catered to our dietary requirements. The cafe has had a spruce up since we last visited, and the modern decor looks great. Special thanks to Gemma who served us when we walked in and made sure everything was okay with our order. Would definitely visit again, won’t leave it as long next time 👍🏼

I came here with my partner for breakfast and honestly have never been to a more friendly, family orientated and delicious cafe. The staff that work here are happy and thoughtful and the service was fantastic. The food was perfectly cooked and presented and we even took some home with us. The owner (Craig) took our order and went to great lengths to make sure that it was perfect as we did have some dietary requirements. We were well looked after with tea and condiments and will definitely come again. Thank you everyone at Yates Cafe!

We arrived here on Friday 8th December and at first glance it’s just like a regular cafe but It couldnt be further from the truth. You go up to the counter to order and the woman behind the counter just stood there never bothered taking my order till I said ‘Excuse me can I order please’ To which I got a response of ‘No im busy’ like what was she busy doing she was literally just standing around. We finally ordered food and my god I wished I never bothered the food was rammed with grease and fat it was literally dripping and my partner even fount grey hairs in her tea which was confusing as non of the staff or ourselves are grey. We took these complaints to the owner AND WE WAS KICKED OUT. No joke we was kicked out of the cafe and told never to come back just because we complained about the state of the food and the hair in the drink. Annoyed and angry I post a review the same as I am here on their Facebook page and they deleted the review and the owner messaged me on Facebook saying if he ever see me around again he’s going to ‘Sort me out’ and make sure ‘I can’t eat food to complain about it’. So yeah don’t go here unless you want uneditable food, Hair in your tea & The owner Mr Craig Yates abusing you and threatening assault. I wish I could give this place 0 stars but enjoy trying to delete this one Craig like you do with your bad reviews on your socials shame you can’t do it on here ain’t it and truth about your bad business is free to come out on here

Excellent food. I ordered an afternoon tea to be delivered for my daughters wedding day while we were all getting ready. They arrived on time and the food was amazing and plenty of it. I had to order two gluten free options and was amazed at the variety that we got, as usually you don't get this when you are gluten free. I will definitely use this company again. Thank you for making our day a little bit easier.

Ordered the oat cake with bacon sausage and cheese, was awesome, and the coffee is good too, highly recommend this place

Everything was too overcooked Got the order wrong. Hash brown was far to greasy and hard. Bacon way over cooked

Having promised the husband a pub burger, we set out for a pub lunch. Parking in our usual Swad car park, we noticed that Yates had their open sign a little more obvious than before, so we took the opportunity to call in. So glad we did. First class friendly service, so many choices on the board and main menu, we found our burgers - and the rest. All cooked from fresh, the food arrived quickly. Oh wow... the Ranch burger was a double, with bacon and cheese. It was £4. Now beat that. It was first class and top quality food. Large mugs of tea were served with these. We will have no hesitation with calling in again. Friendly, clean and good food. What more could you want? Some outside seating was available, but we chose the softer seats - sofa in the window option. All so good. Thank you for a lovely lunch today. Outside catering services, business lunches and delivery service available upon request.

Driven Trucks for 22 years, now a Gas Fitter, visited loads of Cafes over the years, this is with out doubt one of the best in my UK experience, now my local, Breakfasts Excellent, price fantastic and polite friendly staff, enough said 😆😎😃 😁

Good little cafe situated in a block of shops slightly out of Swadlincote Town Centre. Free parking available should you visit in a car. Food is your traditional Full English type fare with breakfasts and sandwichs galore which I have to say are bang on. I Believe they also offer a delivery service! Food is tasty, well cooked and good size portions. On a Sunday morning, they do a breakfast special which is good value for money. The only thing I would say is that if you do want to order what you want, makes sure you get there an hour before closing so your not disapointed. I recently visited around 25 mins before closing to be told by staff that all they had left was 'sausage & bacon'. I also left with the impression that the staff were not really interested. Put abit of a downer on my opinion if I'm honest and is the reason for four stars and not five. I get that staff might want to get off home on time but if you state a time your open to then in my opinion, service should be offered until then. Other than that little blip, great cafe with good food! Worth a visit!

Scrummy breakfast cobs! We usually take away or have food delivered to work. Always on time and delicious! Very polite staff and good value. A lovely treat when we don't want to cook at the weekend too.

Visited here today wasnt impressed at all there was quantity but no quality every person left something on there plate.wont be visiting again

Have now been a couple of times for breakfast and they have been great. The staff are lovely and will accommodate swapping items. Great prices and the door stops really are.

Called in today with my son and had a bacon splash on a doorstep and a foot long breakfast roll.....freshly cooked and served with a smile...as they say in Swad.....BOSTIN

BIG hearty breakfast. The choice is endless, fried, buttered bread, and toast. The choice is yours for a very reasonable price. Also salads are available. All freshly made. My favourite place for a full English brekki.

When I go it is usually lunchtime just before they close, so the downside is that there is usually only one person cooking and serving so it takes a little longer, but there are newspapers to read.The upside is that their breakfast roll, which just fits on the plate and is bigger than most other place's breakfasts for £3.90. From memory it is two sausage, two rashers, egg, hash brown, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes in a soft white torpedo roll.

If your feeling hungry and feel like a hearty breakfast for under a fiver, Yates's is great value... I try to treat myself once a week...I would recommend the 'early bird' breakfast with mushrooms (served before 11) incld. coffee for £4.50.

A great cafe if you want a good old fry up, along with very friendly staff. Change the sauce bottles for clean ones

these are some amazing home cooked meals. we get breakfast here every morning when we stay in burton. the atmosphere is homey, the food is rich and tasty. I love this place and hope everyone gets to try it!
