Myself & a friend stopped off at Silverwood cafe! We had a look round the garden centre & other shops, quiet at the time! We decided to have the breakfast on our visit, the food was mediocre, the server was very polite & jolly! Unfortunately while we were sat in the restaurant, our visit was disturbed by loud foul language, only can assume from the kitchen. I really do not appreciate visiting a cafe to hear swearing while I try to enjoy my food. As for visiting again, I shall not!

Good basic food offer with an additional specials board. We arrived after lunch service had finished, unknown to us, but the lovely lady on duty re-opened and served us a delicious, great value lunch.

We visited the tearooms on the basis of their excellent score and the prettiness of the photos on TripAdvisor . The tearoom is now a diner so at first we thought we’d come to the wrong place. We wanted cafe food, having not had breakfast that morning so burgers and hotdogs didn’t appeal. However we found hot sandwiches on the menu. I had a bacon and egg sandwich with a side order of fries. It was absolutely delicious and the fries were hot, crisp and tasty. My husband had loaded fries. These had grated cheese on rather than cheese sauce which he was a bit disappointed about. It didn’t stop him eating all of them though. It’s me who’s doing the review though and I was extremely pleased with my choices. The decor, although now diner style is still vintage and very pretty. There were some lovely touches, such as matching cutlery holders, and the service was excellent.

Stopped for a lite bite and I wasn’t impressed! The good - have a breakfast sandwich, looked good and my two said they tasted good The bad - chicken and bacon sandwich was chopped up nuggets not breast meat which I sent back, the chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil, the hot chocolate was bitter and the scone was hot, doughy and tasteless. For £32 a real let down for a place off the beaten trail which we won’t be in any rush to visit again. The young lady serving was helpful and very apologetic when asked about the filling, if I was the owner I would be concerned that sandwiches are being sent back…

This USED to be a lovely tea room with proper tablecloths and themed on 'The Forties'. The food was great and the service was really good with waitresses dressed in the style of that time. A delightful step back in time. We took visiting family there for a late lunch - just on 2o'clock - this week. I so wish we hadn't bothered. There was nobody else in the room at all - that should really have given us a bit of a clue! Hot dog and chips was a hot dog roll with 2 ordinary cheap sausages in. The jacket potato was the only one left - should have been another clue! It was luke warm, overcooked with impossible to cut and eat skin. The tomato ketchup holders were grubby and the sauce inside was a curious orange colour and certainly was not ketchup as we know it. No tablecloths, no napkins, no forties style. in fact, not style much at all. Would I go back? Certainly not.

We have not been for a few months owing to the pandemic, well what a nasty surprise. We went today and, first thing is the Tearoom has been moved, to a much larger room, no atmosphere awful food, and we asked for an Americano with Cream, we dont do cream she said. We thought the prices were much too high too, a Cream tea?? yes cream, for one is £17.00 Such a shame, does anybody know what happened there.

The food was so tasty and proper home cooked style. We were too full to try the desserts but they looked tasty too.

We visited for the first time on the 30th October 2021, despite having been on the list of places to visit for over a decade, we finally made it there as a family that weekend. After other family had beaten us to it and said it would be the type of place we like visiting and reading reviews online too, it did seem to be the type of place we would like and we were not disappointed. What a lovely surprise. It was fabulous. Such a delight. Besides the wonderful meals in the tearoom/restaurant, there were gifts and treats to enjoy in the shop. No, lets the start with the meals in the restaurant: I had the Gourmet Burger, which was a great meal, a great filling up meal, The burger in a bun was packed with cheese and a branston-type pickle, which had a nice kick to it. The meal also included fries and a salad. It was delicious. The cakes (of which I'm rather partial) looked delicious, but I was full. It's a lovely restaurant. Can't wait to have the next meal there. We are definitely visiting again, we visited on the 31 October and my birthday is the 2nd November and we were deliberating whether to go back to Silverwood Tearoom on my birthday instead of the planned place. That's how good it was. The family enjoyed their meals too. Now, back on to the shop part of Silverwood. What a delight. From home-crafted products to ornaments and garden-ware such as a bird table , the home-crafted items were more to my taste so I'll talk about them first. The knitted toys, which facially reminded me of Fred (from the Homepride ads of yesteryear-Remember them?) were so sweet and I would have bought the lot if I'd had the money with me, and some gorgeous crochet cushion covers in the next room along had my eye. Silverwood is amazing. It's an Aladdin's Cave (or a TARDIS), because it appears to be bigger inside than out. There are so many wonderful things here I cannot mention them all but I will say that there are so many delights that I managed to find an early Birthday present there too. Can't wait to get back.

For those that have been before, the tearoom has swapped rooms with rosemary flowers and antiques.(yes rosemary is still there so don't panic) . The new setting for the tearoom is delightful and very cosy. Currently the decor is Christmas (no surprise there) . The fake mantlepiece and hearth accompanied by 2 big soft chairs sets this room as 'home from home' atmosphere. The tables are adorned with beautiful Christmas place settings, and the spacing between is adequate if you don't want to talk privately. The range of cakes is plenty and they are selling the same range of large cakes as before. In fact the menu is pretty much the same. Although the waitresses have changed, so I am presuming the tearooms are under new management. But you won't be disappointed they are still lovely. The food is delightful. Good portions, and nice tasty food. A single pot of tea is massive .. Prices are still reasonable. So if you find yourself in the area, pop in you won't be disappointed.. And if you have any extra time then I would recommend perusing around the units which have a lovely array of products for sale, some of which are handmade.

Was there with my daughter this afternoon, we ordered one "cream tea" £4.95 which included tea and scone etc. and then I asked if there was any gluten free option, was delighted when told there was a gluten free scone available, so we added one "cream tea" option with gluten free scone to the order. The tea was fine. When we were leaving I left my credit card with my daughter to pay the bill and she was charged £13.70 by the woman, she questioned this twice and each time was told that it was correct and that the gluten free scone cost "more" and that the tea was to be added to that price. The gluten free scone was being charged at £5.95 plus the tea at £2.80 so she paid it. My daughter only told me about this as we reached home so I called them to ask what on earth was going on and was told it was a mistake (how could this have been a mistake when it was questioned twice?)

Had day out with a friend trawling a selection of garden centres and plant nurseries in the area. Based on the reviews we had pre-chosen Silverwood for our lunch. We were not disappointed: the food was excellent, very reasonably priced, and the staff friendly (we felt like 'regulars' on our first visit). Friend said her coffee was one of the best she has had (praise indeed!), I had Earl Grey tea - loose leaf, served in a pot with bone china cup and a tea strainer provided. The decor made the place feel cosy and comfortable. The nostalgia element didn't seem overdone or intrusive. We do not live that close by, but would definitely return when we can. Had a look round the craft and antiques area and there was some lovely stuff plus definite bargains to be had. Other places may have a better plant selection (and this wasn't bad) but this was tops for the food and service.

Looking for somewhere for a cup of tea and not wanting a 'Starbucks' type experience, we pulled off the A17 on a whim. We weren't disappointed. The décor was a step back to the '50's - all floral chintz - and Sinatra was playing (followed by other singers from the time). We ordered tea and cake from a really friendly and polite gentleman/waiter. When it came, the tea was in a pot - real leaf tea, not teabags - and there were china cups and saucers. Milk was in a jug and sugar in a sugar bowl with the white cotton crocheted cover. It all took me right back to tea with my grannie. The cake? What can I say about the cake? We both chose cherry & date. An excellent choice. It was moist, flavoursome and full of fruit. I could go on...What a find - if ever we are that way again we will definitely be calling in!

The caravan is beautifully decorated and presented, it really is a 'little gem'.I can't wait to go back with any excuse, birthday, anniversary treat for relatives or just want a bite to eat with girlfriend's for lunch, it's well worth it!Added bonus,.. a little shopping and walk around the garden, very relaxing if you need to de-stress

The Silverwood is a mixture of crafts, nursery and tea room. The tea room offered bone china tea service and a nice cup of tea. Cake was ok but a little dry. The room decoration was also a little tired.

This is a lovely little tea room - so much better than the bland cafe stops on the main road. Quirky decor, an excellent choice of food with friendly service at reasonable prices. We would definitely make a point of going again when on this route.

We stopped in this morning on the way to Norfolk for what might be termed 'a comfort break' and a cup of tea having Googled 'garden centres near you' whilst on the A17.I must admit I was expecting a bigger garden centre type business than it was and to be honest if it wasn't Hobson's choice we would have driven away again when we saw the outside. Oh I am SO glad we didn't.We were a bit early (10 mins) so the tea room wasn't quite open but the staff were so friendly and opened up for us. The tea room is decorated with a quirky retro 1950s feel, flowery tablecloths, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn wallpaper, a jukebox with 50's music; and the china teapots and crockery are a wonderful mixture of patterns. We only had tea and toast but the tea was proper, leaf tea with a beautiful flavour and the toast was thick and hot with plenty of butter, and preserve in a dish rather than a little plastic tub. I wish we had had time to stay for a meal as there were some tempting choices. Free wifi is offered with the password posted up on the wall so you don't even have to ask for it.The service was friendly and quick and whilst we were there a number of locals, or at least repeat visitors, also came in so it has a good local reputation.I am glad we have found this well-hidden little gem, we will definitely visit again.ps The toilets were lovely too!

What a fantastic and enjoyable outing. We took my 90 year old mum here for as part of a day out. This was one of the best little tearooms I have been in for a very long time.pleasant staff who gave us the time of day. No queuing like in many places. The atmosphere was superb, taking one back to the late 50's early 60's. Anyone will enjoy such a little bit of time travel. There was also a good selection of cakes and pastries and a wide variety of choice of tea..Trust me this is a must visit place. Take your time here and enjoy. It is well worth the small diversion from the main road, A17.

Been meaning to visit this beautiful tea rooms for a couple of years! Well we did today and wasn't disappointed. Loved all the little touches from old fashioned table ware to the lovely tea pots, cups and saucers and sugar tongs! Cakes to die for.Only criticism is the onsite shops don't offer much :( thought there was more. If you want a trip down memory lane then this is a must.

On our way home from a classic motorcycle camp weekend we were looking for some place for a break, tea and a little sustenance. Too late we spotted the brown sign on a traffic island near Little Sutton on the A17, decided to find someplace to turn our car & trailer to go back. Thank goodness we did for we would have missed a treat. A super tea shop within a garden and crafts centre. Marie really enjoyed her soup, my granary bread sandwich was stuffed with with thickly cut (as was the bread) ham, real ham accompanied with a nice side salad. All washed down with real tea.Oh and no paper serviettes, real cloth in this uniquely styled establishment.A big thank you to the ladies who looked after us so well :)

Yes it's quite nice. Nice cakes. We always enjoy the soup and sandwiches. Just one point, can we please order from the table, it's probably me but the order before you sit down is a tad frustrating. However it might be to do with a menu that changes?

It's not fine dining; it's not silver service but if you're looking for an unusual place ( it's tucked away in a corner of a Fenland garden centre) then you really should try it .It's my brothers favourite place for breakfast & we had a really good wholesome lunch there with my 88 year old Mum . We had a great time .The decorations are well done & the food is in keeping with the surroundings - but be warned the portions are huge & as befits the era the tearoom evokes, the menu plain & simple . But it works .Should you find yourself passing by on the edge of the Fens you won't regret stopping off for a trip down memory lane.

Stopped here on the way across to Norfolk. It was 11.30 and very quiet with just two other customers when we arrived. We had coffee and tea cakes. The coffee was a choice of latte or cafetière and we had the cafetière It was hot if a little weak for our taste. The tea cake was hot with ample butterService was quick and friendly. This cafe is in a garden centre which has 'diversified' and sells lots of craft, old things. The cafe has an old theme with lots of pictures of Marilyn Monroe. A good place to stop on the A17.

Staff helpful, food hot and fresh, good variety of jacket potato fillings and baguettes, good variety of teas and coffees. Lovely atmosphere, shame it isn't on a bus route from kings lynn or we would be going there more often!

This is a lovely cafe based in a rather backwater garden centre. There is a lot of attention to detail, which makes it a pleasant and unusual experience. The cakes and sandwiches are lovely, and there is proper loose-leaf tea. They also serve hot meals and snacks. The only thing that I don't like is that you have to place your order at the counter, before taking a seat..

A charming quirky tearoom with all the feeling of homecooking. Even the crockery is China vintage style....Nice to visit somewhere where it's not fast food style.... If you go away hungry from here it's your fault......!Spot on...... Mark B

I walked into the tearoom at 2.00 pm today, 22nd October, sat at a table and waited to be given a menu and then place my order. The waitress came into the room on several occasions bringing out food to other customers and cleaning tables. She never once made eye contact and after 20/25 minutes I walked out. At no time was anything said to me, I was total ignored. How do these people hope to survive giving such appalling service?

decided to try here for lunch based on reviews for a friends birthday when we arrived we waited to be seated but was told we needed to order first from the chalk board inside the door which was also being viewed by a family as well so was a bit chaotic limited choices but we ordered and went off to choose a table luckily by an open door as it was really hot inside, nice to be served drinks in China cups much nicer than chunky mugs,Meals arrived also on China so hot from the microwave you could burn yourself not good for my jacket and salad, likewise the apple pie and ice cream that followed was so hot the ice cream had totally melted if they need to micro everything why not transfer the pie to a cold dish after heating ?Surrounding's are quirky and really interesting but food was dissapointing

Visited the tea room for the first time today with my mum and grandmother. It is a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and all the staff are incredibly helpful!we had a cup of tea and fresh fruit scone, which we will be back again for. they have gluten free options too that they are also expanding on which is fab for us as some of our family members are gluten free. they also mentioned that if we ring ahead and let them know we are coming, they will let us know what is on the menu and if it is or can be made gluten free!

Sunday lunch:Great value, large variety of beautifully cooked vegetables, tasty meats. We don't like their Yorkshire puds. They're too heavy and stodgy but otherwise, perfect. Friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Weekdays:Fab meals, always excellent whatever we have. Fantastic desserts.

Overcooked dry steaks and burgers. "Well done" steaks were black outside raw inside. Burgers were close to being charcoal. Food not up to normal excellent standards.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst working in the area.. what a beautiful place. The Mash Tun room was quirky with everything you could possibly need including a tranquil garden to the rear. The bluebell inn has a proper country pub vibe, amazing food and the lovely family that run it really make you feel welcome. Can only wish my stay was longer!

Runways cafe is a little gem. Took my daughter on a trip in a chipmunk at the airfield and stopped to have Sunday lunch at the airfield cafe. Lovely hot food which is a first for us with a carvery. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very clean and had a lovely atmosphere. The food was lovely, and the beef just melted in the mouth. Hats off to the chef. Extra points you can watch the plans from the cafe

I'm not a local, but whenever I'm in the area I make a beeline for Turner's! Fantastic battered plaice fillet with chips and mushy peas, a bread roll and a cuppa tea. The fish was fresh, hot and very tasty with nicely browned chips and sweet mushy peas. A lovely soft roll with butter made for a lovely chip butty. Good portion size, plenty for a normal appetite. A fresh brew to wash it down. Very clean inside and attentive service. The carrot cake was also delicious. Yum yum 😋
