The best restaurants in Newark and Sherwood East Midlands

Always good food and service, never had anything bad from this place.

After our first visit three weeks ago, we came back for more, and were not disappointed. As it was freezing cold, it was time for comfort food, so I ordered the Mac & cheese with garlic bread, and pulled meat chilli as an extra topping. Oh my word! It was sublime, truly. The Inner Man was deeply and profoundly warmed and cheered, as was the Inner Woman, as my friend had the lasagne. We love this place, with its fine ambience, great service and lovely food, and can’t wait to come again.

Lovely Chinese, however the delivery driver was the rudest women I have ever met !!

Decent takeaway, used a few times when visiting Center Parcs. Cash only, but cash point available at Tesco or Asda. Portions are a good size.

4 of us popped in at the weekend. We found the staff really friendly and helpful, pizzas were delicious - couldn’t fault it. Thank you

Disgusting facilities. Didn’t order food as after going to use the toilet facilities my shoes stunk of what should be in the toilets! Maybe if they actually cleaned the place and it didn’t stink of pish I would have ordered some food …. Avoid!

Another dreadful Asda Cafe experience which to me indicates a real problem with how they are being run/operated. Went in just after 1pm for a light lunch and ordered the new Christmas Dinner and a Cod and Chips. Told by the lady serving that they had run out of both! Seriously? - it was lunchtime and not busy. Oh, by the way - all the ingredients needed are for sale in the main shop?? Two different Asda Cafe visits in a week, 150 miles apart and both dreadful. I won't be risking a 3rd visit.....

Dreadful rice and very bland dishes with barely any flavour, avoid if you enjoy food with flavour

Called in for a Sunday lunch after reading good reviews, but the food was very poor. I can pretty much eat anything, but this was too bad even for me. We ordered two beef dinners, and the beef was tough as old boots, bloody, undercooked, and cold. The roast potatoes were hard in the middle, and the mash was hard on the outside like it's been heated up. One dinner didn't have any gravy on. We then asked for gravy and overheard the staff saying f***ing hell. We then sent the dinners back because we couldn't eat them to only have the same standard of lunch brought back to us. We complained about this, and the young lad serving us said well it's hit, and miss. We paid full price for dinner we didn't actually eat. We are not fussy people but will definitely not be going back here again. I'm not one for leaving bad reviews, but this was just inedible.

Cheesy chips was half full of the end of the night's dirty salad, did not even want salad and the pizza was cut into 1 inch thinlck slices. The food was also stale

Went here on the Saturday, table of two. Drinks were the same price as rest of the complex, food was expensive but I would have eaten 60 of those cheeseburgers if I had the capacity to do so. The lad that served us, Jack M, was a legend and made sure everything went smoothly, food came out quickly, Great night 🔥

Me and my family came to the quiz on Tuesday what can I say we had so much fun and we did in fact win whooppp, We also came for dinner and the pub had such an amazing offer on 2 meals and 2 drinks for £20 you can’t got wrong, the food was amazing, we was served by Tom who was very chatty and had a smile on his face the whole time, we will definitely be back for the quiz next Tuesday at 7:30pm see you guys then ☺️☺️

I booked to visit the white post a week in advance, for my son's 4th birthday with family. We placed our food orders and after a hour of waiting a member of staff came to tell us the grill had stopped working and could only do limited food. We wasn't to pleased with this, with waiting a hour and now having to wait a lot longer for food we didn't want. So we decided to take a refund. They offered a apology but no extras or vouchers for our time wasted and for the children waiting so long for food they never got. Very very disappointing.

We arrived without a booking but were greeted warmly by staff and taken to a table. Our drinks order came promptly and the menu had many tasty dishes to tempt us. Both dishes came hot and were delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing, not too noisy. We were too full to try the desserts but would definitely come back.
