The best restaurants in Whaley Bridge High Peak East Midlands

Been wanting to go for ages and wasn't disappointed, absolutely top quality food, tried most things on the menu, plenty of flavour. The place itself is smart and the staff were friendly, service time was great considering they were busy as well, all round great experience. Can't wait to go back.

Just popped in for a pint by the fire. Was quiet due to the kitchen being closed due to refurbishment.

The Chilli, half rice and chips is banging

I had a vegetable supreme. It was small for a medium pizza but was just the right size for me. Tasty and loaded with toppings.

Waited over an hour for food, when it eventually arrived it was over cooked and tasteless. Not a friendly atmosphere for a Country Pub.

Wanted to try here for lunch on Sunday. Beer was the best thing, unhurried service. Pretty mean veg portions, not very tasty. Good location but the room was cold and no-one seemed to know how to light the fire. There are better places to eat in the area.

55 mins to get food , which was almost double the price you get the same elsewhere and it wasn't even busy. Would not recommend.

Excellent food hot fresh and value for money and great service never had a bad meal. Some people have called it but they either have no taste buds or trying spoil things for a business shouldn’t be allowed

I really hate to leave this review, and I have given two stars as the man in the restaurant was really friendly when I went to collect my order, otherwise it would have been one. However I felt it necessary, hopefully they can learn from this... Unfortunately even the salt and pepper chips were inedible. I ate three of them. Way too undercooked, they barely seemed like they had been fried at all just lightly boiled, and no way near enough flavour. The tofu was so undercooked I had to just eat the outside, and again, not enough flavour. It was also mostly chopped up onions in the box, not enough tofu. Not that if really mattered given the givens. Really disappointed, I have had a long day, and I'm on a strict budget at the moment, and I just wanted to treat myself as Chinese takeouts are usually my favourite, now I'm going to bed hungry. It's a real shame as it's so easy to get simple things like this right and have people actually enjoy your food and come back time and time again. Honestly I have had some really bad Chinese takeouts in my time, it's always 50/50 if they mess up the tofu, but this is the first time I couldn't even eat the chips. Sorry.

The chow mein noodles were undercooked. Some of the noodles were hard and clumped together like they weren’t cooked long enough. The prawns toast was rock hard and burnt and we got egg fried rice too which was awful. Won’t be ordering here again.
